As an Engineering Manager, you will inspire, mentor, and develop the team that builds this global platform. \n\nFor this role, we are only considering candidates in (ET) and (CT) time zones to best support the global SRE Team. \nTHE ROLE\n\nAs an Engineering Manager of SRE at Eventbrite, your focus will be around building new features and services to address system reliability concerns. Youโll not only help optimize our existing processes, but will more importantly work closely with our development teams to help build next generation services and build reliability, scalability, and observability into their services. Youโll be responsible for charting both short and long term direction of the team, and help continue driving reliability as a core principle throughout our engineering organization at Eventbrite. You'll support the career growth of our engineers and provide them with opportunities to distinguish themselves as they drive impact throughout our organization.\nYOU WILL\n\n\n* Lead a remote-first, cross-functional engineering team to deliver high-quality software in small, regular iterations.\n\n* Continuously aim to reduce cycle time and improve the efficiency of the team.\n\n* Ensure team members have the knowledge of the wider organizational context for their work, goals and outcomes.\n\n* Hold team members accountable for achieving their goals while operating with high levels of autonomy.\n\n* Lead the engineering team to validate the feasibility of projects and ideas while in continuous collaboration with cross-functional partners and other engineering teams.\n\n* Collaborate with other engineering managers to drive innovation in processes and strategies throughout the business pillar.\n\n* Facilitate the hiring and onboarding of engineers.\n\n* Maintain regular communication with the leadership team.\n\n* Foster a culture of transparency, accountability and openness.\n\n\n\nTHE SKILLSET\n\n\n* 3+ years experienced in leading, managing and inspiring cross-functional, agile engineering teams.\n\n* Strong emphasis on SRE as an engineering discipline\n\n* A solid technical background with a passion for delivering high quality, maintainable software following lean/agile methodologies.\n\n* Comfortable participating in architectural discussions, asking informative questions, and assisting the team in making strategic trade-offs.\n\n* Experience working within a highly collaborative, remote-first environment, driving a team that ships code to production often.\n\n* The ability to recruit, onboard, grow and develop a globally-distributed engineering team\n\n* An understanding of build/deployment pipelines and tooling\n\n* Experience in building and supporting infrastructure and services in public cloud environments like AWS\n\n* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.\n\n* Excellent facilitation skills involving the whole team in group based decision making.\n\n* Experience in incident management and operational excellence best practices\n\n\n \n\n#Salary and compensation\n
