This role will own the internal audit program, with a specific focus on Figureโs lending, payments and marketplace operations. Youโll have the opportunity to build an internal audit program to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of Figureโs lending, payments and marketplace operations, including credit risk, governance, operations, compliance, and quality control. Youโll be provided independence, with a direct line of reporting to executive management, to ensure you can effectively assess Figureโs lending, payments and marketplace practices. Figure is seeking an energetic, self-motivated Director who can build and scale a program, while also executing the testing and audit responsibilities.\n\nWhat Youโll Do\n\n\nBuild Figureโs Internal Audit function across Figureโs lending, payments and marketplace operations\n\nDevelop an Audit plan, policies, and procedures to govern the function\n\nDevelop a risk assessment methodology to identify the operational areas and processes to be audited and the frequency of those audits.\n\nConduct risk assessments annually to determine scopes and frequencies of reviews\n\nBuild and maintain an audit schedule of at least 12 months\n\nExecute testing and audit responsibilities by reviewing items such as policies and procedures, processes, loan files, and systems, and interviewing key stakeholders in lending operations, risk, and compliance\n\nEffectively review and compile relevant, material findings and recommendations into concise audit reports\n\nEstablish an Audit Committee with a regular reporting cadence of Audit findings\n\nAssess relevance of audit findings, potential exposures, materiality, improving or deteriorating trends, and demonstrate awareness of big picture issues\n\nInterpret business priorities, anticipate issues and obstacles, and apply to scope of role\n\nDeliver appropriate, succinct and organized information, tailoring communication style to audience\n\nEstablish and maintain relationships with key business partners across departments\n\n\n\n\nWhat We Look For\n\n\nBachelorโs degree is preferred\n\n10+ years of experience in auditing, 10+ years of experience in compliance, or 10+ years of experience with regulatory examinations, or a combination\n\nAt least 3 years of project management experience or at least 3 years of experience managing audit engagements\n\nAt least 3 years of experience in the mortgage industry\n\nProfessional certification such as Certified Financial Services Auditor (CFSA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Information System Auditor (CISA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM)\n\nStrong project-management skills, with a proven ability to coordinate across departments and functions\n\nStrong work ethic and hands-on approach, with the ability to build and scale programs and departments\n\nAbility to address challenging issues while remaining objective and independent\n\nAbility to build technical processes and work with Product to provide compliance related requirements \n\nDemonstrated knowledge and application of federal and state lending regulations including but not limited to TILA/Regulation Z, ECOA/Regulation B, RESPA, BSA/AML, GLBA and HMDA\n\nAbility to handle several projects at once while staying organized, detail oriented and diligent\n\nStrong communication skills - ability to articulate verbally and in writing, plans, processes, policies and issues to stakeholders\n\nAbility to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment\n\n\n\n\nBenefits and Perks\n\n\n* Competitive salary and growth opportunities \n\n* Company quarterly performance based bonus\n\n* Equity stock options package\n\n* Employer funded comprehensive health, vision, dental insurance and wellness program for employees and their dependents\n\n* Employer funded life and disability insurance coverage\n\n* Company HSA, FSA, Dependent Care, 401k, and commuter benefits\n\n* Up to 12 weeks paid family leave \n\n* In office, remote, and hybrid work location options\n\n* Home office and technology stipend for those working outside of a traditional office more than 75% of the time\n\n* Flexible time-off plan to empower employees to take the time off that they want and need\n\n* Continuing education reimbursement\n\n* Routine Team swag deliveries!\n\n\n\n\nDepending on your residential location certain laws might regulate the way Figure manages applicant data.
