\nAbout the Role: \n\nPlanet is seeking an experienced Revenue Accounting Manager to support the North America region, reporting to the Revenue Accounting Director. \n\nYou will provide leadership, accounting expertise, business acumen and, improve accounting-impacted processes. You will manage the revenue closely and drive strategic initiatives, while working cross-functionally with our Finance, Deals Desk, Legal, Sales, and Sales Operations teams.\n\nImpact Youโll Own:\n\n\nLead the revenue contract review process and review the documentation of non-standard contracts to address any revenue considerations in accordance with ASC 606\n\nResponsible for Planetโs revenue accounting cycle, including the month/quarter/year-end close process, journal entries, reconciliations, and flux analysis while operating in an effective SOX framework\n\nSupport internal and external reporting and disclosures requirements such as the remaining performance obligation, and ad-hoc analysis as required\n\nProvide guidance and support to Deal Desk, Legal and cross functional teams during contract negotiations on deal structure\n\nCollaborate with Sales, Legal, FP&A and other cross functional teams to ensure strategic alignment on business initiatives and specific transactions, system enhancements, and process streamlining\n\nOther responsibilities include coordinating projects, product implementations, and system enhancements directly impacting revenue\n\nEngage with internal and external audit teams to support the quarterly review and annual audit activities including the preparation and review of audit PBCs\n\n\n\n\nWhat You Bring:\n\n\n5+ years of revenue accounting experience, with experience at both public and private companies\n\nBachelorโs degree in Accounting, Finance or other quantitative major\n\nExcellent understanding of US GAAP and ASC 606 principles in a SaaS or Software focused industry\n\nA technical revenue background with experience in managing revenue accounting operations\n\nHighly productive self-starter with an excellent work ethic\n\nHighly detail oriented and process driven\n\nExperience supporting Deals Desk, Legal and/or Sales teams during the deal negotiations for revenue compliance\n\nExperience holding teams accountable for deliverable goals\n\nDemonstrates exceptional communication, collaboration and coordination skills\n\nExhibits the ability to manage multiple priorities by identifying and engaging appropriate resources to deliver under given time constraints and deadlines\n\nProven ability to develop and inspire a team by empowering decision-making at lower levels, offering frequent opportunities to develop, and encouraging upward feedback\n\nExperience with NetSuite and Salesforce\n\nExperience working with confidential and sensitive data\n\nExperience working effectively across internal and external organizations\n\nExcellent verbal and written communications skills\n\nHighly proficient in Excel\n\n\n\n\nWhat Makes You Stand Out:\n\n\nAbility to thrive in a high-growth environment\n\nAbility to identify and solve critical issues\n\n\n\n\nBenefits While Working at Planet:\n\n\nComprehensive Health Plan\n\nWellness program and onsite massages in specific offices\n\nFlexible Time Off\n\nRecognition Programs\n\nCommuter Benefits\n\nLearning and Tuition Reimbursement\n\nParental Leave\n\nOffsites and Happy Hours\n\nVolunteering Benefits\n\n\n\n\nCompensation:\n\nThe US base salary range for this full-time position at the commencement of employment is $97,600 - $160,500. Additionally, this role might be eligible for discretionary short-term and long-term incentives (bonus and equity).
