Do you want your design work to make an impact around the world?\n\nThen Jobber might be the place for you. Weโre looking for a Motion Graphic Designer to join our Jobber Creative Studio department.\n\nJobber exists to help people in small businesses be successful. We work with small home service businesses, like your local plumbers, painters, and landscapers, to transform the way service is delivered through technology. With Jobber they can quote, schedule, invoice, and collect payments from their customers while providing an easy and professional customer experience. Running a small business today isnโt like it used to beโthe way we consume and deliver service is changing rapidly, technology is evolving, and customers expect more. Thatโs why we put the power and flexibility in their hands to run their businesses how, where, and when they want! \n\nOur culture of transparency, inclusivity, collaboration, and innovation has been recognized by Great Place to Work, Canadaโs Most Admired Corporate Cultures, and more. Jobber has also been named on the Globe and Mailโs Canadaโs Top Growing Companies list, and Deloitte Canadaโs Technology Fast 50โข, Enterprise Fast 15, and Technology Fast 500โข lists. With an Executive team that has over thirty years of industry experience of leading the way, weโve come a long way from our first customer in 2011โbut weโve just scratched the surface of what we want to accomplish for our customers.\n\nThe team: \n\nA great brand should be consistent, authentic, relevant, and everywhere - and thatโs the goal of our Jobber Creative Studio (JSC). Through mediums like our website, trade shows, messaging, visual style, voice and tone, marketing campaigns, video, radio, etc. we want to tell the world who we are, what we do, and why we do it in a way that aligns our values with our customers' values. Branding is the magic that takes place when a person chooses a product outside of features and price, and our goal is to give people multiple reasons to choose Jobber.\n\nThe role:\n\nReporting to the Staff Designer, the Motion Graphic Designer will create and deliver animated designs (and ideas) that elevate our brand. Your challenge is to translate Jobberโs brand, voice, and ideal customers into world-class motion design. If given an idea or creative brief you know what questions you need to ask to quickly get started on it.\n\n* Youโre a self-starter.. Someone who looks for opportunities to push a brandโs motion design with new creative ideas and doesn't necessarily need to be told to do so.\n\n* Youโve got a big imagination and you love to use it. You donโt see just one solution to a problem, you see many which means finding something that works for everyone is just a couple sketches away.\n\n* You have great communication skills and donโt shy away from discussing complicated design solutions with anyone, no matter their role.\n\n* Youโre comfortable juggling tasks. \nTHE OPPORTUNITY\nThe American political system is not reflective of the American people. \n\n\nItโs no secret that barriers have been created to exclude and marginalize certain communities from being the decision makers in government. \n\n\nWe especially see this at the state and local levels. \n\n\nMore than half of all Americans are millennials or younger, but only 6% of state legislators are 35 or younger. Among state legislators, only 33% are women, 10% are Black, 6% are Latino, and 4% are Asian/Pacific Islander. And only 0.2% of elected officials openly identify as LGBTQIA+.\n\n\nWhen elected officials donโt reflect the people they represent, it undermines the power of people and our democracy. \n\n\nRun for Something (RFS) is changing what leadership looks like in America by building one of the largest candidate pipelines in progressive politics and bringing those young people into public service. \n\n\nFounded in 2017, RFS has recruited nearly 150,000 young people who want to run for office.\n\n\nThrough their innovative people-first program that treats candidates like people first and political actors second, RFS has helped elect more than 1,000 of them โ mostly women and people of color, a quarter of whom identify as LGBTQIA+, and all millennials and Gen Z โ to the kinds of state and local offices that make real meaningful change.\n\n\nAbout Run for Something \nRun for Something recruits and supports young, diverse progressives to run for down-ballot races to build long-term sustainable power in all 50 states. \n\n\nSince launching in 2017, RFS has recruited nearly 150,000 people who want to run for office, endorsed over 3,000 candidates, and won over 1,000 elections.\n\n\nOnce elected, RFS alumni have transformed state and local governments, making housing more affordable, abortion more accessible, and education more equitable. They are the present and future leaders of the Democratic Party and the country. No matter who wins the White House in November, RFSโs work is imperative to the future of democracy and the long-term power-building efforts.\n\n\nAt the same time, RFS has led the sector with an internal culture that prioritizes work-life integration, long-term sustainability of both mission and staff, and diversity, equity, and inclusion, all baked into the core DNA of the team and program.\n\n\nRun for Somethingโs work is long-term, year-round, and strategic. The organization has ambitious plans for 2024 and beyond; you can read the strategic plan here. Learn more about our work in this clip. We highly encourage all job applicants to visit our Careers page to learn about our work environment, values, compensation and benefits policies, interview process, and more.
