Cloud Chamber is looking for a Senior Engine Programmer with extensive Unreal Engine experience, preferably in a Core Tech/Systems Programming capacity, to join our talented, distributed development team. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing game engine features and tools for the next BioShock. Generalist programming skills and previous experience in C++ will allow you to contribute greatly to various aspects of our Core Tech Features. Collaborating closely with members of the other Core Tech Features you will holistically approach and ensure the smooth operation of the game development team\n\nJob Details:\n\nProvide technical designs for new features and/or changes in engine.\n\nCollaborate with programming and production teams to devise optimal programming solutions.\n\nWork in Unreal 5 to build new technology and adapt existing systems to fulfill the projectโs technical requirements.\n\nResearch coding techniques and algorithms in order to keep current on technological developments and advancements in the game industry.\n\nParticipate in the development of low level systems like streaming, generic serialization, and more.\n\nWrite code that fulfills the functional and technical requirements of the project.\n\nWork closely with other game developers to define and implement the vision of our game.\n\nMaintain and manage our core Engine and assist with integrations from Epic.\n\nPartner with the Engine Vertical team to envision and execute the strategy of how we can modify the engine to better serve the needs of this project.\n\nOwn and drive performance related issues.\n\n\n\nSkills, Experience and Qualifications:\n\n5+ years programming with Unreal Engine on commercial game projects.\n\nAt least 1 shipped AAA game as a senior or principal systems programmer.\n\nPrevious experience developing for games; preferably action, FPS or 3PS titles.\n\nKnowledge and understanding of multiprocessor programming.\n\nExperience developing for 8th generation, or better, game consoles (Xbox One/PS4).\n\nFamiliarity working on core engine systems.\n\nPrevious experience working on multi-platform software projects.\n\nExpert in C/C++.\n\nAbility to research, analyze and optimize code to meet performance requirements.\n\nCapable of working independently and efficiently under reasonable deadlines.\n\nAnalytical and strategic thinker with communication skills to express clearly and concisely with a technical and non-technical audience.\n\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills.\n\nCollaborative and dependable with an eye for problem solving.\n\n\n\nWe are Cloud Chamber: a collaborative team of inspired minds who create games together. Below are the expected salary and wage ranges for applicants based in locations where the pay transparency law is in effect:\nColorado: $76,500 and $150,000 per year\nCalifornia: $87,400 and $175,000 per year\nNew York State (inclusive of New York City): $98,400 and $185,000 per year\nWashington: $76,500 and $137,700 per year\nBase pay offered is based on market location, and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations.
