Their love for arena shooters of the past drove them to create Splitgate, a unique sci-fi first-person shooter that adds portal guns to upend the genre. \n\nWhat started as two computer science majors putting portals into a first-person shooter for a project demo has evolved into a VC-backed company which has raised more than $120MM in funding. \n\nAt 1047 Games, youโll find a permanently remote, dedicated team of top-tier talent from some of the worldโs biggest gaming and tech companies who share our foundersโ vision. We are currently working on a brand new shooter in the Splitgate universe.\n\nWhat We're Looking For:\n\n\nA passionate artist: You love to take on difficult, seemingly impossible problems and dig in to find creative ways to solve them\n\nA hard worker: You love to put in the extra effort, because you enjoy your work and know the impact of finishing the tasks at hand\n\nPassion for gaming: You can recognize what separates exceptional games from the average ones. You understand the mindset of gamers which enables you to create and implement features that will further benefit the game\n\n\n\n\nWhat You Will Be Doing\n\n\nLead environment content creation and provide support to less experienced members of the team\n\nHelp maintain consistency with modeling standards and best practices alongside environment leads\n\nLead content development on hero assets and key areas on levels\n\nWork closely with environment concept artists (and art director) and level designers to balance between gameplay and visual targets\n\nWork closely with animation, lighting, audio, and vfx teams to ensure levels are polished in all aspects\n\nHelp ensure visual cohesion and quality of levels is consistently implemented and performant\n\nWork with producers to breakdown work and provide realistic estimates\n\nLead level art reviews and provide timely feedback\n\nDevelop new production techniques and explore new technology\n\nHelp establish and maintain best practices, quality bar, pipelines, tools, and processes for the team\n\nEnsure map assets are built efficiently to a high technical standard\n\nIdentify risks, production issues, dependencies, and scoping concerns\n\n\n\nWhat Will Make You Successful\n\n\n8+ years of experience working in the video game industry and at least two shipped AAA titles\n\nExpertise with hardsurface modeling\n\nProficiency with at least two leading DCC packages\n\nFamiliarity with Blender (proficiency desired)\n\nGood knowledge of composition, color theory and lighting\n\nKnowledge of physically based rendering (PBR)\n\nExperience with procedural content creation packages (Substance, Houdini, World Machine) is a plus\n\nBasic knowledge about Level Design is a plus\n\nCreativity and an excellent eye for detail\n\nStrong problem-solving skills\n\nAbility to prioritize and multitask\n\nSelf-planning and organization\n\nExcellent communication and teamwork skills\n\nFluent English\n\n\n \n\n#Salary and compensation\n
