Our students have a diverse background, from working professionals to recent college graduates who seek to transition into careers in Web Development positions. Teaching Assistants will have a direct hand in changing the lives of our students.\n\nThis is a fully remote, part-time position. \n\nWhy teach with us?\n\nTeaching Assistants help instructors to lead classroom discussions, emphasize the meta-skills and core concepts, support students in their projects and challenges, and provide feedback to students. You don't have to have a ton of experience with teaching! You just have to be a lifelong learner, proven teacher or mentor, or love to help people change their lives to succeed.\n\nWhat You Will Do:\n\n\nCreate an engaging, positive, and inclusive learning environment for our students\n\nExplain complex topics to individuals with both a technical and non-technical background\n\nEnsure you are bringing the learning experience to life, building community and enhancing relevance through drawing on your own industry experience\n\nInfuse empathy, support, encouragement, and fun into the students' learning progression\n\nAssist the instructor with class time management \n\nObserve the class during code activities and projects to assist students (via Zoom)\n\nResearch and answer student questions \n\nGrade homework and group project assignments when applicable \n\n\n\n\nSkills & Requirements:\n\n\nAt least 6 months of experience of web development experience (or equivalent)\n\nBachelor's Degree preferred, but not required \n\nMust have a laptop, camera, and reliable internet access\n\n\n\nOne additional monitor, microphone / headset are highly recommended\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFamiliarity with the following:\n\n\nBrowser-Based Technologies - HTML/CSS, JavaScript/jQuery, Responsive Design, Bootstrap, Handlebars,and React.js\n\nServer-Side Development - User Authentication, Progressive Web Applications (PWAs),and MERN Stack (MongoDB, Express.js, React.js, Node.js)\n\nDatabases - MySQL and MongoDB\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLogistics:\n\n\n24-week program (this is a part-time commitment)\n\nM/T/TH OR M/W/TH schedule\n\nClasses: 5:45 - 10pm (includes office hours and break)\n\nClasses are taught live online\n\n\n\n\nPerks:\n\n\nMaintain your current career while teaching\n\nPaid Sick and Safe Leave\n\nAccess to Wellness and Educational Resources\n\n20% Discount on 2U Short Courses\n\nHone your skills by teaching and mentoring others\n\nExpand your network by joining the thousands of industry professionals who make up our instructional staff\n\nExperience the gratitude and fulfillment that comes along with teaching and giving back to the tech community\n\n\n\n\n\n\nHourly salary only: In Colorado, the anticipated hourly salary for this role is $20/hr.
