Aztec is hiring a Remote Decentralisation Product Manager
\nAbout Aztec\n\nAt Aztec, our goal is to add privacy to Ethereum.\n\nIn the current public blockchain paradigm, users and entities unknowingly broadcast data in the public, compromising privacy and security to get trustlessness.\n\nNot only are unencrypted blockchains inherently privacy-exposing, they require significant redundancy to compute and verify the legitimacy of transactions.\n\nImplementing scalable encryption in a public blockchain paradigm requires cutting-edge math and engineering. Thankfully, our team of scientists and engineers invented Plonk, the industry-standard zkSNARK, and Noir, the universal language of zero knowledge.\n\nNow, weโre building a first of its kind Layer 2 with private smart contracts. This requires new cryptographic primitives, a zero-knowledge DSL for writing contracts, a privacy-friendly execution environment, a carefully designed set of circuits that prove the validity of the chain to L1, a decentralized block-building and proving mechanism, and a top-tier user and developer experience. And itโs now time to bring it to market.\n\nWeโve raised $125 million from industry-leading investors including a16z crypto, Paradigm, Variant, Consensys, and a_capital, and weโre growing quickly.\nRole focus\n\nAs Decentralisation PM, your role will be focussed on ensuring the success of Aztecโs launch as the first fully decentralized L2.\n\nYou will be responsible for product releases of the node software, sequencing and staking clients and prover coordination software. With help from marketing and BD, you will be responsible for establishing and growing the network infrastructure ecosystems that will power Aztec as a decentralized L2.\n\n\nYou will have wide latitude to shape the team's strategy and will be coordinating the work of at least two engineering teams.\n\nYou will be working closely with our co-founders, CTO, CMO and engineering leads, to ensure a series of successful product launches through testnet to main-net.\n\n\n\nRole responsibilities will include:\n\n\n* Ensure the successful launch of Aztec as the first fully decentralized L2.\n\n* This role is all encompassing and will include:\n\n\n\n* Coordinating a series of decentralized sequencer and prover testnets \n\n* Coordinating upgrades and AIP processes\n\n* Coordinating token-economics modeling with BlockScience\n\n* Contributing to token economics and distribution planning\n\n* Act as the key decision-maker in defining product requirements and specifications โ deeply understanding trade-offs to balance ecosystem needs and technical constraints including:\n\n\n\n* Ensuring the sequencer client is easy to use, documented and released on time for testnets\n\n* Launching the staking system and ensuring it meets infrastructure providers and network goals\n\n* Overseeing the design and implementation of SideCar proving protocol with proving ecosystem participants\n\n* Regularly engage the large community of node operators, infrastructure providers, and builders to gather feedback, drive product improvements, and guide the product roadmap\n\n\n\n* Enable our marketing and partnerships teams to craft messaging for product launches, and provide context and support needed to close relevant partners\n\n* Working with engineering to provide timely support and address technical issues to ensure seamless onboarding and network operator experience\n\n\n\n\n\nRequired experience\n\n\n* Strong technical background or previous experience as a founder\n\n* 5+ years of experience managing or building at a tech company either in an engineering or product role.\n\n* 1-2 years experience working with node operators in the blockchain space\n\n* A deep understanding of the block production supply chain in the Ethereum space\n\n* Experience with P2P software\n\n* A desire to go deep on understanding how Aztec works, and work with cryptographers and engineers\n\n* A passion for blockchain, it's potential, and what we're trying to achieve\n\n\n\nWhat we offer:\n\n\n* A highly competitive compensation package (including equity)\n\n* Flexible and remote work environment\n\n* 25 days holiday + bank holidays annually\n\n* An opportunity to work at the cutting edge of blockchain and FinTech with a world class cryptography and engineering team\n\n* Generous equipment budgets and travel budgets\n\n* Visa sponsorship if required\n\n\n\nAztec Labs is an equal opportunity employer and we value creativity, diversity, and intellectual curiosity.
