Remote Intermediate Software Developer Clinical Group
\nWe're looking for Intermediate Software Developers at various levels to join Jane's Clinical Group. This group of teams is responsible for allowing practitioners to focus on providing the best patient care. This group owns features in our app like charting, intake forms, clinical surveys, integrations, and more. Weโre also building for a new type of Jane user - the 3rd party developer. Providing extensibility opportunities in our charting domain is a new, multi-year initiative that youโll get to play a role in shaping. Most of our roles are full-stack though we allow that developers may tend more to front-end or back-end focus.\n\n\nLike with all positions at Jane, this position is a remote position, allowing you to work anywhere you want across Canada. Building a delighted team who can delight our customers is part of Janeโs DNA. In our most recent company-wide health check, 99% of our team agreed that our founders demonstrate people are important to Janeโs success. On top of that, 98% of our team felt Manager cares about them as human beings and that they are supported when needing to arrange time off from work. Weโd never claim to be perfect, but weโre working hard to listen to our people and improve each day.\n\n\nWe really want the people who work at Jane to love being here, so it's important that we start with a bit about what makes our company unique and try to be as transparent as possible. Our values also provide some insights into Jane and hopefully, youโll have a better idea if this might be the kind of company you want to be part of.\n\n\nBefore we were Jane, our Co-Founders were solving problems for their own clinics not realizing that a few years later, this team would grow to support tens of thousands of healthcare practices in more than 60 countries. Our platform is now helping to modernize the world of practice management software. We enable the likes of physiotherapists, mental health counsellors, chiropractors, and other allied health practitioners to run their practices in a digital-first way through features such as online booking, charting, scheduling, telehealth, and billing along with an evolving library of features. You can see more of them here. Although weโve grown, still to this day, weโre rooted in solving clinicsโ problems and making sure we donโt lose sight of Janeโs vision.\n\n\nWe have remained profitable for the past seven years, weโre product-led and growing organically (and responsibly) to the point where 85% of our customer growth is either from customer referrals or word of mouth. Growth like this is unique, especially in the world of SaaS, and it doesnโt happen by chance. We have a brilliant team of over 400 Janers who are doing an amazing job of listening to our customers, building what they need, and providing industry-leading support. We pride ourselves on flexibility & autonomy, some of our team block out their calendars to pick up their children from school (and this is normal at Jane), and we even have a #kids channel in Slack.\n\n\nWeโre not a clock-in clock-out system-type environment. With that being said, weโre not going to paint the picture of a perfect environment either. Weโre a company thatโs scaling quickly, we have many moving parts, many of us are doing this for the first time and sometimes, we donโt have processes in place or clear views which can require a lot of resourcefulness and a passion for problem-solving.\n\n\nWith all that to say, if youโre looking for an environment where you can grow, stretch yourself, and work with some incredibly talented people on problems that are positively impacting people's lives, Jane could be the place for you.\n\n\nCompensation Expectations for the Role\n\n\nJaneโs committed to paying our team members fairly, clearly, and above all, paying for growth. This role has a minimum annual salary of $90,000 and a maximum annual salary of $135,000. As you may have noticed, this salary range is quite large, and this is intentional to account for the growth someone will experience in the role throughout their time at Jane (i.e., from building the skills, to accomplished, to highly proficient, all the way to achieving excellence in the role). When hiring talented folks to join the Jane team, weโve found that new team members are best set up for success when hired with the expectation of being fully accomplished in the role, which for this role would reflect a salary between $106,900 to $112,500. It's also possible to join Jane at a salary above or below this, which would mean a salary below $106,900 which typically reflects someone who has all the potential to be fully accomplished in the role but doesn't yet possess all the skills required, while a salary above $112,500 is typically for individuals who are currently in this role at Jane and had the opportunity to make a significant positive impact on our customers, product and company with deep Jane knowledge.\n\n\nAt Jane, we pay for growth, which means that youโll continue to have conversations about your career development with your manager and see your compensation grow over time as you build an amazing career with us.\n\n\n\nThe impact you could haveโฆ \n* Collaborate closely with your team, technical leaders and cross-functional groups to ship impactful features that directly benefit our customers.\n* With more seniority, take on a leadership role by helping to drive projects, set goals and mentor fellow developers to foster growth and excellence within the team.\n\n\n\nThe experience we feel we need:\n* Recent Ruby on Rails experience as well as TypeScript and React. Consideration will also be given to specialized experience covering just the front-end or back-end of our stack.\n* Experience with systems design and dealing with technical complexities on solutions or projects.\n* Experience applying API design principles.\n* Experience in agile environments or with incremental delivery of value to customers.\n* Experience in up levelling a team from a engineering or operational excellence point of view.\n* Experience developing software in regulated industries like healthcare or payments.\n\n\n\n\n \n\n#Salary and compensation\n

We work with IT security professionals and ethical hackers to help them find security holes and vulnerabilities in systems before the bad guys do.
There is a lot of creativity and innovation involved in findings those holes. Unfortunately, itโs not all fun and games, in order for their โfindingsโ to be useful, they need to document their results, track progress, notify stakeholders, review mitigations implemented, verify, re-test, etc. There is a lot of overhead involved in the process.
Surprising no one, IT Security experts like the fun and games but donโt like the overhead/ back-office stuff. Thatโs where we come in, we exist to make the life of IT Security professionals easier, better, more enjoyable by making all of these overhead tasks easier and more painless.
We've been in business for 12 years, completely self-funded and profitable. Today, we serve over 440 Infosecurity teams across 37 different countries.
Whatโs the opportunity?
Weโre looking to hire our 8th full-time employee, a well-rounded Rails developer.
In this role, you will learn a ton and be part of a small, global, and user-centered company.
Youโll have the opportunity to make a difference to the lives of 100s of hackers. Plus, as a small team, you will will have a lot of choice about what to work on, and there are still a lot of untapped opportunities for you to grow as the company does.
Our founder, Daniel, presenting at the BlackHat conference.

-ย Flexible work hoursย - Provided you have reasonable overlap with the team (roughly within EU/US Eastern business hours).
-ย Great salaryย โ You will be making more than others in your region.
-ย Flexible vacationย โ Take time off when you need it, we trust you (no less than 4 weeks each year).
-ย No external pressuresย - Our users are king, we do what's best for them. We're self-funded, and don't have any investors, so we can make the right decisions for our customers without worrying about artificial deadlines or financial targets.

- You'll be working in the two greatest markets in the world these days... Software & Security.

What we offer and what we are looking for
You'll be a trusted and key member of our team, and this is (some of) what you'll end up doing on a day-to-day basis:
Improve the experience for our users, help them get the results they need.

Extend the coverage of our API layer.
Improve our existing products and internal systems. We want to learn from you as you learn from us.
Prioritize and decide what features we should tackle next.

We started Sedition with a mission to create a platform for digital art collecting. Since 2011 more than a thousand artists have published their work on Sedition. Including names like Tracey Emin, Bill Viola, Mat Collishaw, Yoko Ono, Universal Everything. More than 100,000 art lovers have joined the site to enjoy the works of their favourite artists.\n\nWe're on a great start but this is only the beginning. The advent of NFTs in 2014 provided a tangible solution for digital ownership. For the first time collectors could own a digital asset without relying on a 3rd party. This new technology is the missing piece for our vision and we can't wait to put it in place for our community. The opportunity ahead is staggering, but so is the amount of work. We'd like your help.\n\n\n## Working at Sedition\n\n- **We're small and focused on getting things done.** You'll work alongside 4 senior engineers. We keep meetings to a minimum. We organise our work into 6 week cycles and focus on delivery.\n\n- **We're a remote team with flexible working hours.** Work whenever youโre the most productive. While weโre all currently based in timezones within 2 hours of the UK, we are open to expanding it further.\n\n- **Meaningful and impactful work.** We're established, but still small. Your contributions will be immediately visible. NFTs integration is a multi-phase effort where every team member is able to shape it.\n\n- **Healthy work-life balance.** No overtime. 40 hours work week. Take a holiday whenever you need one.\n\n- **Competitive base salary.** Crypto bonuses after we step into the NFT market.\n\n\n## Our hiring process\n- **No live coding.** It's stressful and we hate it. We're more interested in what you have done in the past and your cultural fit.\n\n- **We stick to 3 interviews.** Introductory, assessment and proposal. You will also meet the whole team during the interviews.\n\n- **Fast decision making.** We aim to finalise the proposal within one week of initial interview.\n\n\n## What will you do\n\n- Develop, test and release solid code in Ruby\n- Work together with our engineers to develop API services\n- Involve with development of Blockchain integration\n- Help migrate the codebase to Rails 6\n- Revamp our automated payments system for artists\n- Perform QA tasks for every release along with the team\n- Plan iterations periodically and consult new product features\n\n\n## Skills required\n- Ruby on Rails design patterns and best practices\n- Have worked with Ruby on Rails extensively in the last few years\n- Experience with REST, MySQL, AWS, CI\n- TDD/BDD\n- Rails application security, scalability and performance\n- Good communication skills\n- Bonus: Knowledge of other technologies we use: React, React Native, Blockchain / Solidity\n\n\n \n\nPlease mention the word **REDEMPTION** when applying to show you read the job post completely (#RMTguMjE2LjYwLjg1). Nuvocargo is reinventing the $2 trillion freight forwarding industry. We are a digital-first freight forwarder using a mix of technology and exceptional service to help companies seamlessly move products across the Americas, starting with the biggest trade lane in the world: Mexico USA cross-border trucking.\n\n**The opportunity for you**\n\nAs a Nuvocargo software engineer, you will work with senior members of the engineering and product organization. You will help architect and implement solutions up and down the stack from our front end apps, to our backend API, to our databases and external services.\n\nYou will also be part of the landing team that will kickstart our engineering presence in Mexico City. As part of that team you'll help set a high quality bar for engineering and help us bring software best-practices from Silicon Valley to Mexico, making a meaningful impact to the startup ecosystem in Latin America.\n\nTogether with rest of the engineering, product, design organization, you will help shape the future of Nuvocargo's tech stack and engineering culture.\n\nOur current stack includes a combination of modern tooling and philosophies:\n\n- The front end interfaces include React (including Context and Hooks), Next.js and interactive interfaces via the WhatsApp Business API interfaces and emails.\n- Our React/Jamstack apps are continuously deployed on Netlify and the internal team workflows and interfaces use a mix of low-code and no-code solutions (think: Airtable, Retool and Zapier) for fast iteration combined with custom front ends for usability, precision and control on certain workflows.\n- The design and styling processes for our frontend interfaces include Zeplin.io and a component library hosted in React Styleguidist.\n- We use Rails API, a Postgres database and API integrations with multiple external services for back end development.\n- We have a strong culture of building quickly and iteratively, deploying features and releases to staging and production multiple times a day.\n\nThe products you build will be used by hundreds of Nuvocargo's customers, carriers and users across Nuvocargo's internal teams.\n\n**Who you are**\n\n- You love deploying features. One of your favorite feelings is shipping code and releasing new features to users. You know when to accrue technical debt in order to get a feature live. You strive for simple, readable code and you are averse to over-engineering the task at hand (YAGNI).\n- You have a track record of building great software in fast-growing companies. You have battle scars and wisdom from many years of building software in ever-changing environments. That wisdom comes both from projects that were incredibly successful and from projects that were abject failures.\n- You are passionate about making an impact in the Latin American startup ecosystem. You want to have a direct impact in establishing Nuvocargo's engineering org as one that bridges the gaps between Silicon Valley startups and the Latin American startup ecosystem.\n- 1 + 1 = 3. You strongly believe that collaboration, pairing, mentoring and raising the bar for everyone on the team makes the team greater than the sum of its parts.\n- You are a software craftsperson who believes in the journey to mastery. You believe in creating well crafted software, steadily adding value to stakeholders (as well as the engineering team and your future self) and collaborating with others with an open mind and flexible opinions. You believe that the journey of mastering the craft of software never ends, but you love being along for the ride.\n- You thrive in a low-friction, light-process environment. We are not a meeting-heavy org. You are self-motivated to write great software, release great products, pair with team members all without spending hours deliberating whether something is "3 points" or "5 points".\n- You are intellectually curious. You are probably a polyglot when it comes to programming languages (and natural languages), even if you don't have mastery over those other languages. You are always curious to dabble in a new library or framework or language and you analyze their high level pros and cons without even realizing it.\n- You are both a great communicator and listener. You are great at synthesizing inputs from different sources; you speak and write clearly, concisely, and with a structure that gets everyone on the same page when things feel messy.\n\n**Must haves**\n\nFluent in English.\nAt least three years of professional experience of developing and deploying production software.\nProfessional experience in at least one dynamically typed language (JavaScript, Ruby, Python etc).\nPersonally growth minded.\n\n**Nice to haves**\n\nProfessional experience at a software startup.\nExpertise in JavaScript and Ruby (React + Rails, even better!).\nExperience mentoring people technically.\nExperience building APIs.\n\n**What we offer**\n\n-A unique & fun culture at the intersection of the freight and technology industries as well as between the USA and Latin American work cultures.\n-Above market salary, benefits, and a robust employee stock ownership program to make you an owner and partner of the business.\n-Remote-first location strategy and allows you to work from wherever. Hybrid office / work from home model that allows for flexibility and collaboration time in our -Polanco / New York City office. Beautiful modern Polanco office space that is perfect for collaboration.\n-A chance to join the ground floor of a well-funded, fast-growing startup that is modernizing a trillion dollar industry critical to the global economy.\n\n**More about Nuvocargo**\n\nInternational logistics is the multi-trillion dollar connective tissue of the world economy, but it's been slow to leverage the power of technology; it's finally going digital, and Nuvocargo is playing a big role in driving this historic shift.\n\nWe believe that true expertise in logistics cannot be automated and is incredibly valuable; however, we think software and technology can give logistics professionals superpowers to help provide shippers with the best service, and make everyone's lives easier.\n\nWe're growing quickly, and are backed by some of the world's best investors from both Silicon Valley and Latin America such as Tiger Global Management, The Flexport Fund, QED (founders of $60B+ Capital One), NFX (Silicon Valley fund with $10bn in exits), the founders of Nubank ($30B+), Loft ($3B+), Ramp ($2B+), and Rappi ($5B+), Y Combinator (~1% acceptance rate, created $300bn worth of startups), and angels who have built, exited, or currently sit on the board of companies worth over $100 billion.\n\nOur DNA is comprised of four very distinct worlds and cultures: Silicon Valley, Logistics, Latin America, and USA. We are at the intersection of these worlds and laying the foundations for hyper-growth at one of the most tech-forward 3PL's in both the US and Mexico.\n\nRead more about us here: www.nuvocargo.com/about and feel free to reach out with any questions.\n\nWe look forward to working with you! \n\nPlease mention the word **RECONCILE** when applying to show you read the job post completely (#RMTguMjE2LjYwLjg1). ### Key details\n**Pay**: ยฃ400-600 per day\n\n**Working pattern**: The contract can be made for 3 or 4 days per week, depending on your preference\n\n**Start date**: Flexible, either now or in January, depending on your availability\n\n**Duration**: Six to twelve months freelance contract\n\n**Location**: Remote in GMT +/- 3 (Offices in London and Berlin)\n\n### About us\nChangeLab is a worker-owned, democratically-run co-op building ambitious tech for NGOs, progressive political parties and campaigning organisations worldwide. We work with organisations like the British Labour Party, Unite the Union, 38 Degrees and Change.org to help them win progressive change. A few of the things weโve done so far: \n- Helped elect the first ever BAME leader of any political party in the UK, Anas Sarwar, Leader of the Scottish Labour Party with our collaborative calling software\n- Helped the National Education Union survey safety precautions in schools during the Coronavirus pandemic, allowing the union to force the government to protect teachers and landing our tool on the frontpage of the BBC, Evening Standard, and more \n- Helped enable tens of virtual conferences during the Coronavirus pandemic for trade unions and NGOs with over 1,300 participants debating and voting simultaneously\n\nWeโre now moving from bespoke software development to building out impactful SaaS products that help progressive campaigns win. Our main fields of work now are:\n- Ringround, enabling volunteers to collaboratively call and text voters and supporters, already used by Keir Starmerโs campaign to become Labour leader, Freedom from Torture & more. \n- Democracy, a live video conferencing & voting platform, used by many UK trade unions to enable their annual conferences capable of supporting up to 3,000 delegates in real-time video communication, as well as offering voting and breakout sessions\n- Pinpoint, a tool enabling hundreds of personalised Facebook ad creatives to be targeted to different regions and/or custom segments, to increase conversions and impact\n- ShareHarder. A tool to improve organic social growth, allowing users to optimise the images and text that are displayed on Facebook when a user shares their website.\n\n**Learn more on our [website](https://changelab.io) (https://changelab.io) and [GitHub](https://github.com/changelab-hq) (https://github.com/changelab-hq).**\n\n### Who weโre looking for\nWeโre looking for a freelance senior developer with Ruby on Rails and React experience who is available for six to twelve months. Weโre looking for someone who we can build a long-term working relationship with, who can build a deep familiarity with our products and codebases. \n\nYou will be working across all of our core products at different stages. Our primary development scheduled for the immediate future is focused on the Ringround product, but there is ongoing development happening on each of the products. We are a small team, and are looking for someone flexible, who enjoys getting to grips with a variety of codebases and taking steps to actively improve them.\n\nSince weโre a worker-owned co-op, if we all enjoy working together, there is a path after a year to becoming a full partner in the business with an equal ownership stake as the rest of us, along with the responsibility and benefits that provides. \n\nHowever, itโs not mandatory - if youโd rather keep freelancing, then that wonโt affect your application or how we work together at all. \n\n### Youโll enjoy this role if:\n- You want to use your technical skills to make real progressive change\n- You enjoy working in a small team and seeing the impact of your work day-by-day\n- You enjoy solving technical problems \n- You like to prototype and experiment with new technology\n- Youโre quick on your feet and experienced applying a range of approaches to debugging issues that arise\n- Youโre pragmatic about when applying โbest practicesโ will pay off versus when itโs just box ticking\n- Youโre motivated by seeing your code running in production and having a positive political impact\n\n### Our technology stack\nWe work primarily in Ruby on Rails for back-end and React for front-end. Most of our applications have a heavy real-time component or are complete SPAs, so we use a lot of websocket communication backed by Pusher, Anycable and Redis. We have been actively working on a library, called Jason, which allows us to subscribe the frontend to updates from any Rails model as soon as it is edited, with almost no boilerplate code required.\n\nWe also enjoy working with telephony and video technologies - Ringround integrates heavily with many aspects of Twilioโs infrastructure and Democracy uses the video API platform Vonage.\n\nGenerally we keep deployment as simple as possible, relying on Heroku and AWS services such as RDS and S3, so DevOps requirements are fairly light. \n\n### Essential skills and experience\n- 3+ years professional full-stack web development experience\n- Ruby on Rails\n- React, using the new Hooks API\n- Rspec\n\n### Nice to have skills and experience\n*Note: We donโt expect any applicant to have all of these - so donโt be put off applying if you donโt!*\n- Redux (or similar state management libraries)\n- Previous experience building real-time apps using WebSockets\n- Browser testing using Cypress, Selenium or similar\n- Javascript testing using Jest\n- Working knowledge of key AWS services\n- SQL for analytics\n- App monitoring and performance analysis using NewRelic\n- Machine learning experience with tabular data using libraries like XgBoost or LightGBM\n- Twilio\n- Vonage\n \n\nPlease mention the word **RECTIFICATION** when applying to show you read the job post completely (#RMTguMjE2LjYwLjg1). When applying for jobs, you should NEVER have to pay to apply. You should also NEVER have to pay to buy equipment which they then pay you back for later. Also never pay for trainings you have to do. Those are scams! NEVER PAY FOR ANYTHING! Posts that link to pages with "how to work online" are also scams. Don't use them or pay for them. Also always verify you're actually talking to the company in the job post and not an imposter. A good idea is to check the domain name for the site/email and see if it's the actual company's main domain name. Scams in remote work are rampant, be careful! Read more to avoid scams. At Highstreet Mobile, our mission is to deliver the worldโs best shopping experience with beautifully designed apps for global fashion and lifestyle brands. Weโre currently serving over 30 apps for Android and iOS and support most of the biggest e-commerce platforms.\n\nWe are looking for an experienced Ruby developer to join our backend team. In this team, you will be working on the beating heart of our product, the Highstreet API. All code is written with a platform mindset: it should allow for customer-specific tailoring while offering a consistently great end-user experience. \n\nYouโll join a team currently consisting of two experienced developers and a lead, so thereโs plenty of room to make an impact: write quality code, have it undergo code review, ship it to production, track app reliability, and help others to do the same. \n\nAlthough we still have a great office in Utrecht, The Netherlands, weโve transitioned to becoming a remote-first company since the beginning of 2020. While a large part of our team is based in the Netherlands, weโve got people working for us from all over Europe: weโre eight different nationalities, living in nine countries. And we put a lot of effort into making everyone feel at home. Itโs up to you from where youโll join us.\n\n# Our tech stack, how we work, and what youโll work on\nThe Highstreet API is a REST-API written in Ruby using the Sinatra web framework, with a few outpost services written in Go. Because we integrate with many external services, weโre using Redis and Cassandra for our caching needs. We write our tests (mostly unit) in Minitest. Everything is deployed using Kubernetes on Google Cloud Platform. Weโre using Terraform to automate most of our infrastructure build-up and tear-down. \n\nFor this role, you must have experience building RESTful APIs and know what itโs like to create a service that interacts with many third-party systems. Prior experience with Go, Kubernetes, and/or Terraform is not required, and we will make sure there will be plenty of time to learn this when you need it.\n\nLast year we started to use the Shape-Up methodology to develop our products. In short, this means youโll work in a largely autonomous team together with mobile developers and designers in six-week cycles for focused work, followed by a two-week cooldown period which can be used to work on whatever you want. Because we work remotely, we have few recurring meetings, and instead, often communicate asynchronously. Of course, when we think itโs more efficient, we sometimes pull a few people together to discuss stuff in a call. (We like Tuple and Around.)\n\n## In your first month\n* Get up to speed with our tech stack and current projects\n* Meet everyone from design to sales to support to learn about their areas of expertise\n* Work on a small-batch project and have some code shipped to production\n\n## In your first 3 months\n* Feel comfortable in most of the essential parts of our backend codebase\n* Work autonomously on one or more big-batch projects\n* Review code by team members\n\n## Within your first 12 months\n* Know all the details of the backend codebase and how all parts interact with each other \n* Work together with our mobile developers on an RFC outlining a new API endpoint for our apps to use\n* Help set the technical direction of our platform to maintain scalability with more customers and more e-commerce platforms supported\n\n# Who are you?\n* You are a mid-level/senior developer, preferably experienced in Ruby\n* You have at least 3 years of professional experience in designing and building RESTful APIโs\n* You like to take pride in the things you build\n* You have attention to detail: you write tests, think of edge-cases, and do not expect external services to always behave as documented\n* You enjoy learning new things and arenโt afraid to experiment and fail\n* You have really good writing skills\n\n# Benefits\n* Flourish in a culture of trust, ownership, and standard of excellence\n* Work remotely whenever you want\n* Possibility to work from our HQ at the heart of Utrecht (where delicious lunches are provided daily and weโve got weekly team drinks on Friday)\n* Ability to work anywhere between 32-40 hours/week, on a flexible schedule\n* 25 vacation days + 5 flex days\n* Competitive compensation package based on skills and experience.\n* Parental leave (2 weeks paid leave for partners)\n* We pay 70% of your pension plan\n* Yearly get-together, either by bringing all team members to a special destination or by flying remote team members to Utrecht (when this is possible again, of course)\n* Youโll be employed directly at Highstreet or through long-term contracting based on your location and personal preferences\n\n# Why youโll love working with us\nWe are proud of our fantastic product and believe it has lots of potential. We are growing fast and have fun while building our platform and company. We try to foster a progressive and innovative environment with a lot of freedom and flexibility and give people a lot of trust and responsibility. Join us if you value a company where you can be yourself, work in a small team without corporate structures, and can contribute to a progressive working environment for everyone. \n\nPlease mention the words **SOLID NASTY GUARD** when applying to show you read the job post completely (#RMTguMjE2LjYwLjg1). **Overview Of Role:** \nFirst and Third is looking for a Shopify developer to join us in solving unique problems for our eCommerce clients.
