CZI fosters collaboration between scientists and engineers, develops tools and technologies, and builds support for basic scientific research.ย \n\nSome Science Initiative tools include:\n\n\nnapari - an open-source interactive, multi-dimensional image viewer for python\n\nIDseq - a metagenomics platform focused on delivering insights in infectious disease\n\ncellxgene - an open-source interactive data explorer for single-cell transcriptomics data\n\nMeta, a semantic discovery tool that provides a faster way to understand, organize and explore science through personalized feeds.\n\n\n\n\nTo further our mission to enable researchers to gain a much deeper mechanistic and quantitative understanding of biological systems using imaging, the Imaging Technology Team is currently focused on growing an open source image analysis and visualization ecosystem, built around napari, an emerging community run project, and the napari-hub.\n\nAs a Product Manager on the Imaging Technology Team, you will partner closely with a cross-functional team including Engineering, Product Analytics, Application Science, User Research, and Design to lead our contributions to the napari viewer and interface with the vibrant, active external napari developer community to deliver high quality Imaging software. You will work closely with other product managers on the Imaging Tech team to find synergies and ensure alignment across products. This role is critical for us to continue to deliver value to the Imaging Community, and ultimately, accelerate scientific discovery.\nYou will\n\n\nBe accountable for the overall product management of CZIโs contributions to the napari viewer; deliver value to the napari community by defining and validating CZIโs product strategy, plans and roadmaps\n\nCollaborate and partner cross functionally to ensure that product plans represent user needs, are feasible and viable, and are based on sound judgment, data, and a deep understanding of the user community\n\nWork closely with Engineering, Product Analytics, Application Science, User Research, and Design at CZI, and with the broader napari and Imaging community getting buy-in and ensuring the team is clear on goals\n\nThink quantitatively: co-create and validate hypotheses around napari that can be measured using methods from Product Analytics, user insights, and market trendsย \n\nPartner closely with Imaging Program and other Imaging Tech leads to develop strategy for the Imaging Tech Team and find synergies across products and programs\n\nStay current with state-of-the-art scientific and commercial tools in the Imaging community, and display leadership in driving knowledge of this information with internal and external stakeholders\n\n\n\nYou have\n\n\nStrong affinity for our mission: supporting the science and technology that will make it possible to cure, prevent, or manage all diseases by the end of this century\n\n3+ years of product management experience, with the ability to work with products at early stages of product maturity\n\nDemonstrated understanding of the techniques and methods of modern product discovery and product delivery\n\nProven ability to engage with engineers, designers, and company leaders in a constructive and collaborative relationship\n\nExperience with open source software development is a plus\n\nEnergizing presentation and communication skills, including communication to non-technical stakeholders/collaborators.\n\nExcellent ability to collaborate closely with individuals of diverse backgrounds and ideas\n\nExperience with Imaging is a plus\n\n\n
