Solidity Developer Role
district0x is a global organization developing the next generation of decentralized applications (dApps). Built using Ethereum, Snapshot, and IPFS, district0x is a network of marketplace dApps known as districts. Our mission is to decentralize the ownership structure of the world's marketplace by providing a platform for the creation, operation, and governance of peer-to-peer marketplaces.

Summary of Position: The district0x tech stack is driven in the backend by smart contracts developed in Solidity and deployed to the Ethereum blockchain, and in the front end by Clojurescript, React, and Re-frame served via the Interplanetary File System and a Clojure server linked via GraphQL.

As a Solidity Developer, your primary goal is to build front end interfaces for new districts and extend libraries to serve user-made districts. The secondary goal is to create new and secure services written in Solidity, and develop automated test cases for these services. Solidity Developers should work independently when building, but must collaborate with other developers in order to check each other's work and maintain the highest standards of code quality. A great Solidity Developer will go above and beyond by building new and unique user experiences, and automating any routines for the business at large.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish a clean and efficient development, test, and production environment.

  • Deliver secure, high quality smart contracts in Solidity.

  • Write and implement test suites covering the full range of code functionality.

  • Collaborate with the team to define architecture, quality standards, and best practices.

  • Diligently document all aspects of open-source contributions.

  • Create unique solutions to dApp-specific user experience challenges.

  • Build cutting-edge scalability solutions for the Ethereum network.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 2+ years of experience developing in Solidity or in Web3 - you MUST be able to demonstrate this with public repositories or contracts. No other applications will be considered.

  • Working knowledge of scalability solutions, including zk-sync, optimistic rollups, or sharding.

  • A passion for cryptocurrencies and other peer-to-peer technologies

Additionally, you MUST be able to:

  • Speak and write English fluently

  • Communicate proactively (we are 100% remote!)

  • Work independently towards deadlines

  • Accept a salary paid in Ether

If interested, reach out to [email protected]

Skills + Requirements:

  • Solid, proven experience with Ethereum solidity
  • Javascript blockchain libraries such as Ethers.js, Web3.js, Hardhat and Truffle
  • Background in automated testing with Javascript
  • Working knowledge of Ethereum Standards such as ERC20 and ERC721
  • Working with security auditors to address vulnerabilities

Qualities:

  • You are kind, caring and genuine. We lead with kindness.
  • You are motivated and appreciate the latitude of your work
  • You appreciate your independence and ask questions (Slack is our favorite!)
  • You are able to accept feedback constructively

Traits We Value

  • Decisiveness in making decisions under situations of uncertainty with consequences
  • Risk Discernment - knows that making important things requires taking the right risks and is comfortable evaluating which risks to take and which risks to avoid.
  • Adventurousness in ambiguous and new situations
  • Thoughtful and generous, those who are great giving and receiving feedback
  • Team players - we are first a foremost a team driven to build great things, and that includes our team

We started Sedition with a mission to create a platform for digital art collecting. Since 2011 more than a thousand artists have published their work on Sedition. Including names like Tracey Emin, Bill Viola, Mat Collishaw, Yoko Ono, Universal Everything. More than 100,000 art lovers have joined the site to enjoy the works of their favourite artists.\n\nWe're on a great start but this is only the beginning. The advent of NFTs in 2014 provided a tangible solution for digital ownership. For the first time collectors could own a digital asset without relying on a 3rd party. This new technology is the missing piece for our vision and we can't wait to put it in place for our community. The opportunity ahead is staggering, but so is the amount of work. We'd like your help.\n\n\n## Working at Sedition\n\n- **We're small and focused on getting things done.** You'll work alongside 4 senior engineers. We keep meetings to a minimum. We organise our work into 6 week cycles and focus on delivery.\n\n- **We're a remote team with flexible working hours.** Work whenever you’re the most productive. While we’re all currently based in timezones within 2 hours of the UK, we are open to expanding it further.\n\n- **Meaningful and impactful work.** We're established, but still small. Your contributions will be immediately visible. NFTs integration is a multi-phase effort where every team member is able to shape it.\n\n- **Healthy work-life balance.** No overtime. 40 hours work week. Take a holiday whenever you need one.\n\n- **Competitive base salary.** Crypto bonuses after we step into the NFT market.\n\n\n## Our hiring process\n- **No live coding.** It's stressful and we hate it. We're more interested in what you have done in the past and your cultural fit.\n\n- **We stick to 3 interviews.** Introductory, assessment and proposal. You will also meet the whole team during the interviews.\n\n- **Fast decision making.** We aim to finalise the proposal within one week of initial interview.\n\n\n## What will you do\n\n- Develop, test and release solid code in Ruby\n- Work together with our engineers to develop API services\n- Involve with development of Blockchain integration\n- Help migrate the codebase to Rails 6\n- Revamp our automated payments system for artists\n- Perform QA tasks for every release along with the team\n- Plan iterations periodically and consult new product features\n\n\n## Skills required\n- Ruby on Rails design patterns and best practices\n- Have worked with Ruby on Rails extensively in the last few years\n- Experience with REST, MySQL, AWS, CI\n- TDD/BDD\n- Rails application security, scalability and performance\n- Good communication skills\n- Bonus: Knowledge of other technologies we use: React, React Native, Blockchain / Solidity\n\n\n \n\nBe sure to mention the word **REDEMPTION** when applying to show you read the job post completely. # About Multis \n\nMultis is a bank for companies holding euros, dollars and cryptocurrencies. We're building a product that will redefine how business banking is done. We're helping these companies embrace cryptocurrencies and shape a global and borderless economy.\n\n\n\nWe're a founding team of happy and passionate crypto-dreamers: Thibaut (CEO) and Théo (CTO), with backing from world-class US and European investors like Y Combinator, Coinbase Ventures and eFounders. The company is incorporated in San Francisco but we're working from Paris/remotely for now. \n\n# What's so special about engineering at Multis?\n\nMost people would call Multis "just an interface" but you'd probably call it a server-less, backend-less, password-less, real-time fullstack ClojureScript static decentralized web application. It's not about ticking boxes though — we chose these technologies and architecture to cater for our very specific domain: the blockchain. As for our engineering principles, we only have one: simplicity.\n\n# Mission\n\nWe're looking for a fullstack engineer to work hand-in-hand with the CTO and the engineering and product teams to build and maintain our next-gen business banking stack and features — leveraging blockchains and their protocols as well as server-less infrastructure and functional programming. As a core member, we also expect you to have major impact on shaping our culture and brand, and help us attract top talents!\n\n# Benefits\n\n* Challenging work experience building next-gen banking with a frontier tech\n\n* Fast-learning environment, entrepreneurial and strong team spirit\n\n* Unique access to the Y Combinator and eFounders network\n\n* Competitive salary & equity\n\n* Remote-friendly company with offices in Paris downtown (75002)\n\n* Off-sites abroad (next one will be in the Canary Islands)\n\n* Possibility to get all or part of your salary in crypto 🤑\n\n# Responsibilities\n * Lead features development — from specs to tested production code — along with the Product team\n\n* Contribute to Multis technical thought leadership through articles on our engineering blog \n\n* Maintain product and handle company-wide support with the core team\n\n* Help build a world-class engineering team \n\n# Requirements\n* 2+ years of experience as a fullstack engineer\n\n* Acquainted with ClojureScript (or strong willingness to learn — our coding test is in ClojureScript)\n\n* Experience with complex single page applications\n\n* Ability to lead projects and execute with pragmatism and velocity\n\n* Cultivate humility and curiosity about all things programming and tech\n\n* Know how to relax 🏝️ \n\n\n\n**Nice to have:**\n\n* Startup experience — ideally B2B or fintech\n\n* Passionate about all things blockchain and crypto\n\n* Experience leading a team (or strong appetite to do so)\n\n* Previous remote experience\n\n* Hawaïan outfit and prior one-pot experience 🍲 \n\nBe sure to mention the words **OPINION PROJECT HILL** when applying to show you read the job post completely. ***In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.***\n\n\n**Job type:** Full-time \n**Role:** Full-Stack Developer \n**Experience level:** Mid-Level, Senior\n**Industry:** Cryptocurrency, Cybersecurity, Network Security, Blockchain \n**Company size:** 11-50 people\n**Location:** San Diego, CA, San Juan, Puerto Rico, Tokyo, Japan or **Remote**\n\n\n**Join the Swarm**\n\nAt Swarm Technologies, Inc, we're developing innovative solutions to age-old information security problems - and we need your help.\n\nAt its core, PolySwarm is market design enabled by Ethereum smart contracts. We are programming a market that will produce crowdsourced threat intelligence (malware detection today, more tomorrow).\n\n** Blockchain experience not required! **\n\nWe're operating in a very new industry and we're prepared to bring candidates up to speed! Few sectors are hot as blockchain right now - talk about professional growth\n\nNo one has done this before. We'll get things wrong - and that's okay! With your help, we'll get fewer things wrong, identify mistakes earlier, and improve processes to prevent future missteps.\n\nYou're in on the ground floor - you'll have a say in what we do and how we do it. By joining Swarm Technologies, you'll be joining a dynamic team on the bleeding edge of information (computer) security and blockchain - answering questions few have thought to ask.\n\n**If you're interested in**\n- technical challenges that cannot be solved via iteration\n- blockchain (Ethereum smart contracts in particular)\n- information security\n- malware reverse engineering automation\n- market design (a la Who Gets What and Why by Alvin Roth)\n- software development\n- unknown unknowns\n\n**then we're interested in you!**\n\n**The Ideal Candidate Is:**\n- independently motivated & self-directing\n- introspective: able to identify weak spots / problem areas our existing processes or code and suggest / implement solutions\n- takes an interest in information security topics - huge props for capture the flag (CTF) participation!\n- enjoys developing software\n\n**At Swarm Technologies, you'll tackle both big-picture and tactical problems, the following are a few examples.**\n\n**Example Big-Picture Problems**\n\nThe Ethereum block time leaves a lot to be desired for a marketplace that intends to supplant millions of malware scans a day.\n\nHow do we best reconcile millions of scans daily with a 15 second block time and today's block size limits?\n\nIn sum: PolySwarm must scale and must support scanning artifacts (files) that may contain confidential information. How do we best reconcile these needs with a default-public, Proof-of-Work Ethereum ecosystem?\n\n**Example Tactical Problem**\n\nPolySwarm is a twist on a prediction market - where security experts attempt to "predict" whether a file / URL or network traffic is malicious or benign. Alongside their prediction ("assertion"), experts "stake" a configurable amount of Nectar (NCT), PolySwarm's crypto token.\n\nSuppose Expert A is lazy and Expert B is a hardworking, upstanding security expert. It would be bad if Expert A was able to simply duplicate the assertions coming from Expert B, exploiting Expert B's hard work for profit. If assertions are placed directly on the public Ethereum blockchain, Expert A can do exactly that.\n\nHow can we design a system that keeps the assertion secret (so Expert B is out of luck) until some configured time, after which assertions are revealed and payouts distributed appropriately?\n\n**The Ideal Candidate possesses demonstrable experience in some or all of these technologies.**\n\nPolySwarm employs the following tools & languages:\nPython\nDocker (+ Swarm, Services, Stack)\nKubernetes (+ Helm)\nTerraform\nAnsible\nSolidity\nReact\nJavaScript\nRust\n\nRefer to our GitHub for examples of our usage: https://github.com/polyswarm\n\n**We Offer**\n- Competitive salaries\n- Excellent health, dental, vision coverage\n- Paid vacation days\n- Travel (if you like). We have offices in San Diego, Puerto Rico and Tokyo and we often find ourselves travelling elsewhere. If travel interests you, we can scratch that itch.\n- Flexible work hours - outside of scheduled meetings, we don't care when you work, we care about your output.\n- Powerful servers, laptops, desktops - whatever you need to be most productive! \n\nBe sure to mention the words **PLUG POTATO EASILY** when applying to show you read the job post completely. district0x \ndistrict0x is a global organization developing the next generation of decentralized applications (dApps). Built using Ethereum, Aragon, and IPFS, district0x is a network of marketplace dApps known as districts. Our mission is to decentralize the ownership structure of the world’s marketplace by providing a platform for the creation, operation, and governance of peer-to-peer marketplaces. Using cutting edge technologies, we hope to bring more democratic and equitable businesses to the internet.\nWe launched our first product, a job board for freelancers, Ethlance.com, in January of 2017. After completing a fundraiser in July of 2017, we launched our second marketplace, Namebazaar.io, a peer-to-peer marketplace for the exchange domain names registered via the Ethereum Name Service. We’re looking to expand our team in order to accelerate the development of new districts as well as several integrations, partnerships, and developer toolkits.\n\n Summary of Position: \nThe district0x tech stack is driven in the backend by smart contracts developed in Solidity and deployed to the Ethereum blockchain, and in the front end by clojurescript libraries served via the Interplanetary File System.\nAs a Clojurescript Developer, your primary goal is to build front end interfaces for new districts and extend libraries to serve user-made districts. The secondary goal is to create new and secure services written in Solidity, and develop automated test cases for these services. Clojurescript Developers should work independently when building, but must collaborate with other developers in order to check each other's work and maintain the highest standards of code quality. A great Clojurescript Developer will go above and beyond by building new and unique user experiences, and automating any routines for the business at large.\n\nKey Responsibilities: \n* Establish a clean and efficient development, test, and production environment.\n* Deliver best-in-class front-end solutions in Clojure.\n* Write and implement test suites covering the full range of code functionality.\n* Collaborate with the team to define architecture, quality standards, and best practices.\n* Diligently document all aspects of open-source contributions.\n* Create unique solutions to dApp-specific user experience challenges.\n* Build software that is FUN to use!\n\n The ideal candidate will have: \n* 3+ years of experience developing front-end web applications\n* Working knowledge of Clojure/Clojurescript\n* Experience with re-frame libraries\n* A passion for cryptocurrencies and other peer-to-peer technologies\n* Experience building smart contracts in Solidity\n* A deep understanding of how the Ethereum network and blockchains operate\n\n Additionally, you MUST be able to: \n* Speak and write English fluently\n* Communicate proactively\n* Work independently towards deadlines\n* Accept a salary (in dollars) paid in Ether \n\nAt district0x, we value above all trust in our fellow contributors. Everyone sets their own hours and expectations, we work together towards unanimous goals. If you would thrive in this environment, send your resume to [email protected] For bonus points, find the posting and apply via Ethlance.com. Come build a new future with us! \n\nBe sure to mention the words **DEVICE CHEESE WELCOME** when applying to show you read the job post completely. This is a beta feature to avoid spam applicants. Disintermediate global and local marketplaces with the power of decentralized communities!\n\nWe launched Ethlance (https://ethlance.com) in January 2017. At the time, it was one of the first functional applications to go live on Ethereum’s MainNet and to this day is one of the most used. Districts are a generalization on Ethlance’s form and function, built using Clojurescript, re-frame and web3.js. We are a 100% open source and remote project, and are looking to secure our first engineering hire to accelerate the deployment of a framework for launching new districts.\n\nThe ideal candidate will have:\nExperience with building front-end for web applications using Clojurescript\nExperience with using re-frame v0.8 library\nIs willing to accept salary paid in Ether/Bitcoin cryptocurrency\n\nNice to have:\nDeep understanding of how the Ethereum network works\nExperience building smart contracts with Solidity\n\n\nAbout district0x\n\nThe district0x Network (https://district0x.io) is an open source collective of decentralized marketplaces and communities, known as districts. Districts exist as decentralized autonomous organizations on the district0x Network, built upon a standard open source framework comprised of Ethereum smart contracts and front-end libraries. This contract framework provides districts with the core functionalities required to operate an online market or community. Namely, the ability for users to post listings, filter and search through listings, rank peers and amass reputation, and send invoices and collect payments.\n\nWe completed a fundraising round in July of 2017, and we’re laying the foundation for launching 5 more districts in the coming year. We’re dedicated to a long term vision of community driven development and governance. We’re committed to making the new technology behind the Ethereum network easy to use for all users. We believe fair and democratic user-owned networks will supplant virtually all centralized marketplaces in existence today. What we build will be free, transparent, and publicly available forever. Come build it with us!\n\nSend your applications to [email protected] \n\nBe sure to mention the words **MAMMAL LOOP PUT** when applying to show you read the job post completely. We’ve got you covered in NYC, DC, Dublin, London, Paris, Brisbane and Hong Kong. \n\nFlexible working arrangements. You can create your own journey with flexible schedules and locations. We believe everyone has the right to control their own freedom. Our people can make their own schedule, own their own time, and we encourage you to travel and work from anywhere in the world.\n\nContinuous learning and opportunities. You’ll be constantly exposed to new concepts, ideas and frameworks from your peers and as you work on different projects — challenging you to stay at the top of your game. To support your development we pay for you to learn by offering unlimited access to Coursera, a platform with thousands of courses for you to learn whatever you want, and acquire new skills.\n\nUnlimited vacation/holidays. We value downtime to recharge and reset, ensuring everyone at ConsenSys has work/life balance. Company-wide we participate in “zero productivity” days every quarter to take a break from work, shut down, and sit back and relax. \n\nOne of the most recognized tech companies in the blockchain ecosystem globally. Work experience at ConsenSys is a tremendous reference for your future career. You’ll join a network of entrepreneurs and technologists that reaches the edge of our ecosystem.   \n\n \n\nAbout ConsenSys’ NFT Business Unit\n\n\nConsenSys’ NFT Business Unit is in search of people passionate about the fusion of NFTs, utility, narrative and creativity.  We are passionate about unlocking new possibilities with NFTs, pushing the boundaries of creativity with fan, brand and user engagement, exploring these new possibilities deeply through narrative and visuals, and making them a reality.  \n\nConsenSys partners with some of the largest firms in the world, including dozens of Fortune 100 clients, governments and the largest global banks.  We are backed by JP Morgan, Mastercard and UBS. \n\nOur Web 3.0 products and technology are the most used in the industry, with tens of millions of existing users globally - supported by our global customer support organisation. We have been operating large scale, public blockchain infrastructure for more than five years, which is used across our industry and the largest NFT and crypto players in the world, including Coinbase, Palm, Sorare, Decentraland, Guild of Guardians, and dozens of others.  \n\nOur Eulerbeats NFT platform has been called “the most genius idea ever” by Mark Cuban, and it has distributed more than $5m to its user base through NFT royalties.  \n\nConsenSys is not just NFT players, but we have expertise up and down the entire technology stack all the way down to Layer 1 Ethereum.\n\nWe are looking for a diverse group of developers, creators and technologists who are interested in day to day exciting challenges, who are resilient, and who thrive in the exciting and fast-moving NFT industry. \n\n \n\nWhat you’ll do\n\n\nAs Full-Stack Tech Lead, you will be helping lead a world class technical team, with State of the Art expertise in developing & delivering NFT projects and product features. You will be part of multinational agile teams working on world-class, exciting and highly visible client projects, where you will lead a scrum team of between 5 and 10 engineers to deliver front-end services and/or product features, back-end product features and/or services and/or blockchain smart contracts.\n\nAs a Tech Lead you typically spend 50% of your time coding and 50% of your time coaching the other engineers on the scrum team. This includes: working with a technical architect to design the high level solution, working with a business analyst to groom the JIRA tasks for the next sprint, reviewing pull requests, and leveraging your methodology and technical expertise to help your team during focused problem solving sessions.\n\nThe role is client facing. You are expected to constantly improve your problem solving skills, communication skills and relationship building skills in order to manage clients at key project milestones (key technical decisions and trade-offs, demos, knowledge transfer).\n\nWithin the project team, you establish your credibility and lead the team through project phases by demonstrating outstanding technical judgement, advocating the benefits of agile methodology, and coaching team members individually to make the project an enriching and fulfilling experience for them.\n\nThe project team size, scope and your responsibilities will vary from project to project. Some of our projects involve 5 team members for 3 months, others involve 50 team members for 12+ months. Most of them require world-class level of production-grade delivery, given the stringent technical and security requirements of our clients in the financial services industry.\n\nAs you gain more experience, you will also take part in the development of reusable product components and libraries and methodologies that will be deployed by other ConsenSys teams around the world.\n\n \n\nWould be great if you brought this to the role\n\nRequired\n\n\n6+ years of experience as a Software Engineer working in NFTs and/or Enterprise-grade projects\n\n2+ years building software at production scale\n\n2+ years as a tech lead, leading a team of 5+ team members\n\nMastery of at least one of the following disciplines:\n\n\n\nBack-end development: Typescript / Node.js (preference for Nest.js framework); a strong and versatile Java developer will be considered too.\n\nFront-end development: React.js\n\n\n\nExperience with, or understanding of: PostgreSQL, MongoDB, CI/CD pipelines (CircleCI), MQ technology such as Kafka or Redis, AWS and Azure infrastructure services, Docker, Kubernetes.\n\nHigh testing standards for yourself and for others: expectation of rigorous unit testing, integration testing and component testing where appropriate\n\nUnderstanding of blockchain technology, especially Ethereum\n\nWillingness to learn about the disciplines listed above, that you do not already have experience with.\n\nExperience working on agile projects in an Enterprise setting\n\nExperience with micro-services architectures\n\nExcellent verbal and written communication in English\n\nTeamwork, flexibility, initiative, communication and organization\n\n\n\n\nBonus points for\n\n\nWork experience in NFTs\n\nExperience as tech lead in a remote team setting\n\nBlockchain / smart contract development: Solidity / Ethereum, Web3.js or Ethers.js library\n\nExperience in deploying blockchain infrastructure\n\nExperience in cryptography\n\nDemonstrated interest in DevOps \n\nWillingness to constantly learn & improve, beyond the strict scope of your job\n\nBSc/MSc in Computer Science or related subject\n\n\n\n\nLocation and work environment\n\nAt ConsenSys, we do our best to allow team members to work remotely, however this is not always possible when working on Enterprise client projects. We strive to take into account the personal circumstances of our team members, and in return we ask for your understanding and flexibility.\n\nWe have physical offices in New York, Dublin, London, Paris and Hong Kong. Some of our team members work from home in other countries and cities.\n\nOccasional travel will be required for client meetings, and some projects may require being at the client’s location. On average this happens 20% of the time (obviously much less in the COVID context), but some projects may require more substantial on-site work with client teams.\n\nTo be employed in a country, you need to have an existing employment visa in that country and speak the local language fluently.\nDon't meet all the requirements? Don't sweat it. We’re passionate about building a diverse team of humans and as such, if you think you've got what it takes for our chaotic-but-fun, remote-friendly, start-up environment—apply anyway. While we have a pretty good idea of what we need, we're ready for you to challenge our thinking on who needs to be in this role.\n\nConsenSys is an equal opportunity employer. We encourage people from all backgrounds to apply. We are committed to ensuring that our technology is made available and accessible to everyone. All employment decisions are made without regard to race, color, national origin, ancestry, sex, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, age, genetic information, religion, disability, medical condition, pregnancy, marital status, family status, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.\n\nConsenSys is aware of fraudulent recruitment practices and we encourage all applicants to review our best practices to protect yourself which can be found here. \n\n#Salary and compensation\n No salary data published by company so we estimated salary based on similar jobs related to Executive, Full Stack and Tech Lead jobs that are similar:\n\n $70,000 — $110,000/year\n \n\n#Location\nNew York City, New York, United States

\nAt HOPR Association we are working on a challenging and foundational infrastructure component of the web3: a decentralised and incentivised mix network that allows any two parties to exchange data without third parties knowing that they are communicating and without leaking any other metadata. You can go to docs.hoprnet.org to learn more about the HOPR project and protocol.\n\nPlease note: for this position, it is possible to work remotely or from our office in Zurich, Switzerland.\n\nWhat you’ll be creating + working on:\n\n\n* Support early use cases and integrations of HOPR in the real world (we have a lot of them waiting for you) - this also entails architecture and development of SDKs, libraries and development toolchains that enable other developers to create private-friendly decentralised applications\n\n* Develop low-level network libraries, communication protocols, and the tooling around peer-to-peer connections using TypeScript on Node.js (and perhaps Rust in the future) alongside the popular library libp2p\n\n* Support and work with the community of developers, users, investors, enthusiasts who want to use HOPR\n\n* Have a look at the HOPR codebase at https://github.com/hoprnet \n\n\n\n\nWhat you bring to the team:\n\n\n* Communicative team player who can work with and lead a development team in a fast-paced environment\n\n* Desire to work on the future of privacy and trail-blaze the future of non-corporate work\n\n* An affinity to free and open source software and community-focussed development\n\n* Theoretical knowledge and practical experience with the internet protocol stack, minimally: DNS, HTTP, TCP/IP, UDP\n\n* Familiarity with common issues and mechanisms, minimally: proxies, NAT, firewalls, packet loss & retransmission, WebRTC\n\n* Minimally 5 years hands-on development experience delivering TypeScript/Javascript applications in production settings with CI/CD and automated testing pipelines\n\n\n\n\nWe’d be even more amazed by:\n\nIdeally, a suitable candidate fulfils as much as possible from the following list (in order of relevance):\n\n\n* Experience with libp2p\n\n* Theoretical and practical knowledge of blockchain and crypto assets in general\n\n* Familiarity with Ethereum and the EVM\n\n* Layer 2 scaling solutions such as state channels on top of Ethereum\n\n* Ethereum tooling: Solidity, web3.js, Truffle, Ganache, OpenZeppellin\n\n* Motivation to communicate about your work: blogs, conferences, social media\n\n* Experience and curiosity to work for and on a decentralised autonomous organisation (DAO) and decentralised governance\n\n* Experience with Typescript, Rust\n\n* General knowledge around Google Cloud Platform\n\n\n \n\n#Salary and compensation\n No salary data published by company so we estimated salary based on similar jobs related to Senior, Developer and Digital Nomad jobs that are similar:\n\n $60,000 — $120,000/year\n

This job post is closed and the position is probably filled. Please do not apply.
\nSite Reliability Engineer - to help us build a decentralised, blockchain-based legal agreements network.\n\nWe are looking for someone to assist with the evolution and maturation of our platform’s operability.\n\nMonax were pioneers of permissioned blockchains and smart contracts and we are building our Agreements Network to allow new and more efficient forms of legal transacting.\n\nExploiting the benefits of various decentralised, distributed, and masterless technologies - chiefly Hyperledger Burrow, which Monax built from scratch and is based on the Tendermint consensus engine.\n\nWith this we need to move past theoretically proven fault tolerance to practical scalability. The unique DevOps problem we can offer is not just running at significant scale in terms of number of nodes but at scale in terms of number of authorities. How do you administer a network with no administrator?\n\nYou will have the chance to work on a system that has distributed consensus and trust-less validation at its heart and offers very interesting challenges, these could be:\n\n\n* How do you build a monitoring and alerting system for a decentralised platform?\n\n* What governance mechanism converge towards a stable system useful for its members?\n\n* How do you address security vulnerabilities of bugs with no single authority?\n\n\n\n\nBlockchains and decentralised storage systems are closely related to existing distributed databases and object stores and we are looking to blend the best of both worlds.\n\nWorking closely with our CTO and CEO your focus will be around our Kubernetes-based deployment, blending blockchain-land with more traditional (and battle-tested) DevOps and cloud tooling. We see integration between these worlds as critical to our success and themes such as message queuing, API management, caching, logging, and metrics are all key to that goal.\n\nYour role will give you the chance to work across all teams in the business and it will also give you the opportunity to write core code for the platform in support of your role.\n\nYou will join a business building a genuinely novel system, that in part intends to create an entirely new market by enabling legal products that challenge existing legal services.\n\nThis role would suit a talented Software Engineering graduate, with around 1-2 years work experience and some knowledge of Kubernetes, or a more experience software engineer who would like to transition to a more DevOps focused role.\n\nWho do we need? Someone who:\n\n\n* Can read Go, Javascript (NodeJS and frontend), Solidity (EVM code), and shell scripts within the first few weeks.\n\n* Has some understanding of cloud native tooling such as Kubernetes, Helm, Elasticsearch, and Prometheus.\n\n* Has a basic working knowledge of AWS and GCE.\n\n* Has some experience of multi-server non-trivial cloud deployments - ideally with containers.\n\n\n\n\nIt is crucial that you are able to take part in forceful yet respectful technical discussions with colleagues and that you are able to change your mind about something if required, and also are able to change other’s minds.\n\nReal things you might work on:\n\n\n* Figure out how to deploy new validator pools to existing blockchain networks\n\n* Deploy and run IPFS nodes with pinning\n\n* Implement our key signing interface against a cloud based hardware security model\n\n* Secure cross-blockchain communication with elliptic curve diffie-hellman and cryptographic proofs of state\n\n* Develop in cluster monitoring and automatic failover for blockchain nodes which have fallen out of consensus or are no longer connected into their peers.\n\n\n\n\nWhat can Monax offer you?\n\n\n* Extremely marketable blockchain and cryptocurrency skills.\n\n* The chance to make blockchain systems live up to their hype by making them highly operable, our network will be operated peer-to-peer by many parties and this needs to be as painless as possible.\n\n* Experience in blending distributed, decentralised, and centralised systems. To spend time working on something foundational at the level of a network architecture.\n\n* The chance to spend time thinking ‘around the software’; about law, economics, and game theory.\n\n* You will have a high level of autonomy. The business has just enough hierarchy, consensus and individual project responsibility (c.f. design-by-committee) favoured over diktats.\n\n* Flexible working - the successful candidate will be based in our London work space primarily, there is scope for flexible working and choosing your own hours and place of work when established. \n\n\n\n\nRelocation assistance is available and this role could also be based in our office in Edinburgh City Centre.\n\nWho will you be working with?\n\nAround ten people in our passionate cross functional team, including time with:\n\n\n* Our CTO, who would be your primary contact and coding peer while helping to guide the broader design of the system.\n\n* Our CEO in Edinburgh, who has taken the lead in developing our cloud deployment so far and with whom you will have a close working relationship.\n\n* Our product and legal engineering teams, based in New York, that you will enable by building a network that can incorporate a diverse range of legal stakeholders.\n\n\n\n\nAbout Monax\n\nMonax would like to build a better system for contracting for the good of humanity and other forms of life. To learn more please visit:\n\nMonax Website\n\nAgreements Network\n\nHyperledger Burrow \n\n#Salary and compensation\n No salary data published by company so we estimated salary based on similar jobs related to Admin, Engineer and Sys Admin jobs that are similar:\n\n $70,000 — $110,000/year\n

👉 Please reference you found the job on Remote OK, this helps us get more companies to post here, thanks!

When applying for jobs, you should NEVER have to pay to apply. You should also NEVER have to pay to buy equipment which they then pay you back for later. Also never pay for trainings you have to do. Those are scams! NEVER PAY FOR ANYTHING! Posts that link to pages with "how to work online" are also scams. Don't use them or pay for them. Also always verify you're actually talking to the company in the job post and not an imposter. A good idea is to check the domain name for the site/email and see if it's the actual company's main domain name. Scams in remote work are rampant, be careful! Read more to avoid scams. When clicking on the button to apply above, you will leave Remote OK and go to the job application page for that company outside this site. Remote OK accepts no liability or responsibility as a consequence of any reliance upon information on there (external sites) or here.
