Remote Fullstack Engineer

About\nWeโ€™re building Omni: a platform allowing developers to deploy applications across all rollups without fragmenting liquidity. Weโ€™re looking for early team members to help us bring this ambitious vision to life.\nWeโ€™re a team who already built a platform that processed over $70M leading to our $18M fundraise from top investors including Pantera, Two Sigma Ventures, Coinbase Ventures alongside angel investors including Stani Kulechov (founder of Aave), Sandeep Nailwal (cofounder of Polygon) and more. In addition to this our most recent testnet onboarded over 300,000 users in less than two months. We are growing rapidly and we need ambitious and experienced team members to join us to help scale Ethereum's future.\nAbout the role\nEngineers who join in this role will be responsible for building frontend applications and Solidity based smart contracts to highlight our product suite.\nResponsibilities\n\n\n\n* Build the end user facing applications that empower users to interact with our technologies.\n\n* Build Solidity based tooling and template repositories.\n\n* Build Typescript based tooling to help improve our developer experience and accelerate our business development growth.\n\n* Consistently simplify the experience of using Omni's technologies by building tooling tooling around the core network functionalities.\n\n\n\nRequirements\n\n\n\n* 2+ years of Solidity smart contract development with at least one production grade deployment that handled over $10m in TVL.\n\n* 3+ years of Typescript development across the SDK, backend and frontend levels.\n\n* 1+ year developing with a Web3 specific Typescript SDK like WAGMI, Ethers.js or Web3.js.\n\n\n\nCompetencies\n\n\n\n* Excellent communicator โ€” must be able to distill complex technical concepts and communicate them effectively to partners.\n\n* Action oriented โ€” we are looking for people who take action by default, consistently driving forward progress without asking for permission\n\n* UX oriented engineer โ€” must be energized by the idea of using their abilities to create seamless user applications in an industry notorious for difficult user experiences.\n\n* Autonomous โ€” must be able to take high level concepts from product and BD and autonomously own the completion of those technical deliverables from architecture design to production deployment.\n\n* Systematic โ€” proactively takes effort to track their responsibilities and map them out using best practices so that the wider team can better understand progress on multiple dimensions.\n\n\nOur benefits include competitive compensation, early stage equity allocations, team outings and unlimited PTO. In addition, you'll join a team of high caliber team innovating at the frontier of crypto that work collaboratively to help one another accelerate their personal growth.\nWe are a mission driven company. Parity Technologies is hiring a
Remote Rust + Typescript Engineer

Rust + TypeScript Engineer\n\nParity is one of the world's most experienced core blockchain infrastructure companies, having built and pioneered some of the most advanced technologies in the blockchain sector. Parity was founded by Dr. Gavin Wood, co-founder and former CTO of Ethereum, the primary engineer behind the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM), inventor of the Solidity programming language, and primary author of the Ethereum Yellowpaper.\n\nBased in Berlin, London, and Lisbon, Parity has built clients for Ethereum, Bitcoin, and Zcash and has pioneered a completely new, next-generation blockchain protocol with Polkadot and the framework itโ€™s built with, Substrate. Parity builds the open-source technologies needed to power an unstoppable, decentralised webโ€”known as Web3โ€”and helps developers and organisations implement and build upon the Web3 tech stack.\n\nWith a remote-first, global team, Parity is building open-source technologies for developers and organisations to implement and build upon. Our Web3 tech stack includes Polkadot, Substrate, and Kusama.\nPeople in our collective are:\n\n\n* Highly motivated to contribute to Parityโ€™s mission and be part of something bigger\n\n* Excited to work on projects that are groundbreaking and complex\n\n* Autonomous workers that self-initiate, but also collaborate well with others\n\n* Taking maximum accountability and having minimum ego at work\n\n* Comfortable with chaos and adapting to the ever-changing Web3 space\n\n* Continuously educating themselves about Parity and the wider ecosystem\n\n\n\nAbout the team:\n\nYou're applying to join the Product Engineering department, and you'll be focused on building and maintaining tooling and applications (written primarily in Rust and TypeScript) which make it easier for developers to explore and interact with Substrate based blockchains such as Polkadot.\n\n \n\n\n* Some examples of the projects you're likely to contribute to:\n\n\n\n* \nsubxt: a Rust based client library which makes it easy to connect to a Substrate based chain and interact with it.\n\n* \njsonrpsee: a Rust based implementation of the JSON-RPC protocol for client-server communication (used in Substrate and Subxt).\n\n* \nsubstrate-api-sidecar: A RESTful service build using TypeScript which exposes some high level APIs for gathering information from Substrate nodes\n\n* \nsubstrate-telemetry: a Rust backend and TypeScript+React frontend responsible for gathering and displaying live information about chains on the Polkadot network.\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout the position:\n\n\n* Youโ€™ll design, build and maintain Rust-based tools/libraries to help internal/external teams build, debug, instrument and manage substrate-based blockchains.\n\n* You'll find yourself gradually taking ownership of different areas of our codebases and projects.\n\n* \n\n* You'll likely spend around 70% of your time contributing to our Rust projects and 30% contributing to our TypeScript ones, with the exact split depending on your own skills and preferences.\n\n* You will work fully remotely, working in a remote team of ~10 engineers based mostly around Europe.\n\n\n\nAbout you:\n\n\n* Be able to work autonomously and function well in a distributed team. A big part of this is being an excellent communicator; conveying ideas clearly, helping others, sharing regular progress updates and raising concerns and blockers quickly.\n\n* Take an interest in blockchain technology in general and Substrate/Polkadot in particular: you'll build an awareness of the problems that the ecosystem faces and how we can help to solve them.\n\n* Have a passion and enthusiasm for the Rust programming language, its community and values: we use Rust extensively, and often push it to the limits to deliver robust and performant software.\n\n* Have demonstrable experience in TypeScript, in particular open source projects, and keen to grow and improve in this area.\n\n* Have a good understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, HTTP and WebSockets, and demonstrable experience building HTTP based APIs and clients.\n\n* Ideally you'll live within 2 hours of UTC+0, but exceptional candidates outside of this timezone will also be considered.\n\n\n\nAbout working for us:\n\n\n* Competitive remuneration packages based on iterative market research, including tokens (where legally possible)\n\n* โ€œFuture of workโ€ environment thatโ€™s remote-first and self-initiating with flexible hours\n\n* Team mates that are genuinely excited about their impact and projects\n\n* Access to the brightest minds in this space to learn about Web3 and develop your skills and knowledge while on the job\n\n* Becoming part of the wider ecosystem (career and networking opportunities)\n\n* Team and company-wide retreats\n\n* Work laptop\n\n* Opportunity to relocate to Germany or Portugal (with visa sponsorship)\n\n\n\n\n \n\nThose joining our collective as an employee in Germany, Portugal, and the U.K. also enjoy benefits such as health care, parental leave, PTO (28 days per year), local team events, yearly L&D budget, and language classes.\n\n\n\n\n\nParity is an Equal Opportunity Employer. We welcome diversity in our global team and care about everyone in our collective feeling included and welcome.\n\n \n\nView our Applicant Notice to see how we use your data.\n\n \n\nIs this position not quite your match? Browse our other open roles.\n \n\n#Salary and compensation\n No salary data published by company so we estimated salary based on similar jobs related to Web3, Solidity, Ethereum, Typescript, Engineer and Backend jobs that are similar:\n\n $80,000 — $122,500/year\n

Obol is hiring a
Remote Senior Frontend Engineer DApp Development

\nWho Are We?\n\n\nObol Labs is a remote-first research and software development team focused on Proof of Stake infrastructure for public blockchain networks. Specific topics of focus are Internet Bonds, Distributed Validator Technology, and Multi-Operator Validation. The core team includes 35 members spread across +14 countries.\n\n\nThe core team is building the Obol Network, a protocol to foster trust-minimized staking through multi-operator validation. This will enable low-trust access to Ethereum staking yield, which can be used as a core building block in various Web3 products.\n\n\nThe Network\n\n\nThe network can be best visualized as a work layer that sits directly on top of the base layer consensus. This work layer is designed to provide the base layer with more resiliency and decentralization as it scales. In this chapter of Ethereum, we will move on to the next great scaling challenge, which is stake centralization. Layers like Obol are critical to the long-term viability and resiliency of public networks, especially networks like Ethereum.\n\n\nObol as a layer is focused on scaling main chain staking by providing permissionless access to Distributed Validators. The network utilizes a middleware implementation of Distributed Validator Technology (DVT), to enable the operation of distributed validator clusters that can preserve validators' current client and remote signing configurations.\n\n\nSimilar to how roll-up technology laid the foundation for L2 scaling implementations, we believe DVT will do the same for scaling the consensus layer while preserving decentralization. Staking infrastructure is entering its protocol phase of evolution, which must include trust-minimized staking networks that can be plugged into at scale. We believe DVT will evolve into a widely used primitive and will ensure the security, resiliency, and decentralization of public networks.\n\n\nThe Obol Network develops and maintains three core public goods that will eventually work together through circular economics:\n\n\nThe DV Launchpad, a User Interface for bootstrapping and managing Distributed Validators\n\n\nCharon, a Golang based middleware client that enables validators to run in a fault-tolerant, distributed manner.\n\n\nObol Splits, a set of solidity contracts for the formation of Distributed Validators tailored to different use cases such as DeFi, Liquid Staking, and Fractionalized Deposits \n\n\n\n\nSustainable Public Goods\n\n\nObol is inspired by previous work on Ethereum public goods and experimenting with circular economics. We believe that to unlock innovation in staking use cases, a credibly neutral layer must exist for innovation to flow and evolve vertically. Status SNT is hiring a
Remote Senior C++ Qt QML Developer

\nAbout Status\nStatus is building the tools and infrastructure for the advancement of a secure, private, and open web3.ย \nWith the high level goals of preserving the right to privacy, mitigating the risk of censorship, and promoting economic trade in a transparent, open manner, Status is building a community where anyone is welcome to join and contribute.\nAs an organization, Status seeks to push the web3 ecosystem forward through research, creation of developer tools, and support of the open source community.ย \nAs a product, Status is an open source, Ethereum-based app that gives users the power to chat, transact, and access a revolutionary world of DApps on the decentralized web. But Status is also building foundational infrastructure for the whole Ethereum ecosystem, including the Nimbus ETH 1.0 and 2.0 clients, the Keycard hardware wallet, and the Waku messaging protocol; the p2p communication layer for Web3.\nAs a team, Status has been completely distributed since inception.ย  Our team is currently 200+ core contributors strong, and welcomes a growing number of community members from all walks of life, scattered all around the globe.ย \nWe care deeply about open source, and our organizational structure has minimal hierarchy and no fixed work hours. We believe in working with a high degree of autonomy while supporting the organization's priorities.\n\n\n\n\n\nThe role\n\n\n\n\nStatus Desktop is currently in beta for Mac, Windows and Linux platforms.ย  Current product focus is on the privacy-centric messenger and group chat functionality, and weโ€™ve just kicked off development of our new โ€˜multi-chain from the ground upโ€™ crypto Wallet.ย  รApp browser and blockchain node functionality will follow next. Status desktop is currently built usingย Nimย & QT for the frontend, and it shares a common backend with Status mobile that is written in Go.ย  We are currently in the middle of a large refactor of our architecture.ย  This refactor includes transitioning the QT front end from Nim to C++, moving all business logic to our status-go backend, and upgrading from QT5.14.2 to QT6.2.ย  As we work in the open and are fully open source you can get a better idea of who we are and the work we are doing by browsing ourย team wiki hereย and taking a look at ourย Status Desktop,ย Status Desktop QML component libraryย andย Status Desktop and Mobile Go backendย GitHub repos.ย  You can find more information about our desktop effort in thisย blog post.ย \n\nStatus is looking for multiple senior experienced C++/QML UI devs to join our growing desktop dev team and to work with us to create a permissionless, decentralized, censorship proof group chat platform. Role responsibilities include developing new features, creating and enhancing components in our QML UI toolkit component library, advising and assisting other members of the desktop dev team with solving challenging QML UI development problems, and perhaps working on the Go backend if this is something you would enjoy.ย  As a team we try to match task assignment with the individual interests and passions of our team members, so there is a high degree of flexibility with regards to what you would be working on.ย  If you are a passionate C++/QML expert who knows all the ins and outs of C++ and QT/QML UI development this could be an ideal role for you.\n\n\nThe desktop team is spread between Europe and North America with crossover work hours being the European timezone afternoon on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Ideally you will be located in a timezone between UTC -8 and UTC +3 e.g. anywhere in-between Panama and Moscow.ย  Work is async using Status, Google Meet and Github, typically in Scrum Sprints.\n\n\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\n\n\n\nBuild new features, enhance existing functionality and fix issues in the Status Desktop application.\n\nHelp develop and maintain Statusโ€™s QML UI component library (primarily used by the Status Desktop product)\n\nAdvise and assist the other developers in the Desktop team as needed to help solve the hardest QML UI development challenges\n\nContribute to C++ and Go codebases (and help with transitioning the codebase from Nim to C++ if you join us prior to this transition being completed), but donโ€™t worry if you donโ€™t have any prior Go or Nim experience.\n\nBe one of our resident experts for everything related to C++ and Qt/QML UI development.\n\n\n\n\nYou ideally will have\n\n\n\nDonโ€™t worry if you donโ€™t meet all of these criteria, weโ€™d still love to hear from you anyway if you think youโ€™d be a great fit for this role!\n\n\nExpert level experience implementing UIs using Qt/QML/C++\n\nA strong ability to think about components and modules as they relate to other components as part of a larger system\n\nA very strong attention to detail and the willingness to deliver pixel perfect UI according to the designs.\n\nProvide feedback and product ideas to the designers as needed\n\nExperience with multithreading / concurrency\n\nGood communication skills in English\n\nA strong alignment to our principles:ย https://status.im/about/#our-principlesย  We are a passion driven project on a mission to build tools that protect and enable free speech.ย \n\n\n\nBonus points if you have\n\n\nExperience working in an open source organization\n\nA strong interest in blockchain technology and have a good understanding of Ethereum.\n\nWorked in a remote distributed environment that values asynchronous communication\n\nKnowledge of Go and/or Nim and/or Solidity is a plus\n\nExperience with using QT/QML to develop cross platform (Windows, OSX, Linux) desktop applications and mobile applications (iOS, Android) is a plus\n\nPrior experience with using Squish for functional testing QT apps\n\nExperience implementing openGL rendering in a QML context\n\nAny background or experience with cryptography and/or security\n\n\n\nCompensation\n\nWe are happy to pay in either 100% fiat or any mix of fiat and/or crypto.\n\n\n\nHiring process\n\n\n\nThe hiring process for this role is usually as follows (sometimes adapted):\n\nIntroductory conversation - Talent team\n\n3 Technical Interviews with Desktop Qt/QML Developers\n\nTeam lead interview - Iuri, Desktop Team Lead\n\n'Meet the Desktop team' interviews with 3-4 Desktop Contributors (30-40m each)\n\n\nQuestions about this role?\nFeel free to get in touch, we are more than happy to discuss the role in more detail.\n\n\n \n\n#Salary and compensation\n No salary data published by company so we estimated salary based on similar jobs related to Web3, Solidity, Crypto, Ethereum, Testing, Node, Mobile, Senior, Linux and Backend jobs that are similar:\n\n $60,000 — $110,000/year\n

We fundamentally believe blockchain is the next generation of technology that can lay the foundation for a more just and equitable society. \n\nBlockchain tech is just over 10 years old. Ethereum itself is still a toddler and weโ€™re far from reaching our full potential. Youโ€™ll get to work on the tools, infrastructure, and apps that scale these platforms to billions of users. \n\nYouโ€™ll be constantly exposed to new concepts, ideas, and frameworks from your peers, and as you work on different projects โ€” challenging you to stay at the top of your game. Youโ€™ll join a network of entrepreneurs and technologists that reaches the edge of our ecosystem. Consensys alumni have moved on to become tech entrepreneurs, CEOs, and team leads at tech companies. \n\nAbout the team\n\nConsensys Staking is a leading ETH staking provider, currently operating ~4.5% of all Ethereum validators, with around 1 million ETH staked to date or around $2B of value in dollar denomination. Consensys Staking prides itself on secure and reliable infrastructure with a SOC 2 Type I and II certification. Our resilient, distributed, and configurable infrastructure (multi-cloud, multi-region, multi-client, multi-MEV relayers), alongside our comprehensive validator performance reporting, is attractive to institutional-grade stakers. \n\nWhat youโ€™ll do\n\nWe are looking for a Software Engineer to help accelerate the growth of our Staking-as-a-Service platform ConsenSys Staking and double its market share by leveraging on the distribution and audience of our flagship products Infura and MetaMask (leading web3 wallet) as well as MetaMask Institutional (one of the leading institutional and Enterprise web3 wallet).\n\nFor this role, there is a strong focus on working on the front end interfaces used by both customers and internal Consensys staff. These user interfaces help our customer base to understand the Staking lifecycle, and provide valuable insights into rewards received. In addition, new technologies and research are actively being undertaken, potentially providing more opportunities for rewards and services and will be available through the user interface. \n\nThe ideal candidate for this position has experience using and working with the Ethereum protocol either in a Staking related capacity or similar domain and is able to lead a feature area autonomously.\n\nIn addition, the ideal candidate will have experience in web3 dapp design and User experience, or working with indexed blockchain data and data reporting. \n\nWhat youโ€™ll do\n\n\n* 3 + years of experience as a Front End or Full Stack Software Engineer working on production application\n\n* Experience with front-end development (typescript, react, next.js)\n\n* Experience with, or understanding of databases like PostgreSQL and data indexing architecture and infrastructure\n\n* Experience working on agile projects in an Agile environment\n\n* Experience working in CI/CD setup\n\n* Experience working in a distributed, remote team environment\n\n* Excellent communication skills\n\n* Writing good technical documentation\n\n* Located in EMEA/able to work EMEA business hours\n\n\n\n\nBonus points:\n\n\n* Understanding of the Staking eco-system across Ethereum or other protocols \n\n* Experience designing and implementing features \n\n* Working awareness of the Ethereum roadmap and how EIPs can impact a product\n\n* General interest in DevOps topics / experience with Docker and/or Kubernetes and deploying cloud infrastructure (AWS / Azure)\n\n* Blockchain / smart contract development: Solidity / Ethereum, Web3.js or Ethers.js library\n\n* Experience using or working with decentralized applications or web3 protocols\n\n* BSc/MSc in Computer Science or related subject\n\n\n\n\nDon't meet all the requirements? Don't sweat it. Weโ€™re passionate about building a diverse team of humans and as such, if you think you've got what it takes for our chaotic-but-fun, remote-friendly, start-up environmentโ€”apply anyway, detailing your relevant transferable skills in your cover letter. While we have a pretty good idea of what we need, we're ready for you to challenge our thinking on who needs to be in this role.\n\nConsensys is an equal opportunity employer. We encourage people from all backgrounds to apply. We are committed to ensuring that our technology is made available and accessible to everyone. All employment decisions are made without regard to race, color, national origin, ancestry, sex, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, age, genetic information, religion, disability, medical condition, pregnancy, marital status, family status, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law. Nexus Mutual is hiring a
Remote Solidity Engineer

\nNexus Mutual is an on-chain risk marketplace operated by and for members. Our mission is to build an ecosystem in which anyone can protect anyone else by sharing risk. The mutual launched in 2019 and has become the leading coverage provider within the DeFi ecosystem with more than $7.3m in claims have been paid to date.\n\n\n\n\nThe protocol provides a decentralized, transparent alternative to traditional insurance companies. The economic incentives within the mutual solve the centralized insurance industry's core problem: the principal-agent problem.\n\n\nWhat we are looking for \n\n\n\nWe are looking for a Smart Contract Engineer who can help us build the premier on-chain risk marketplace for DeFi, CeFi and beyond. You can learn more about us here: Twitter, Discord, Github. Someone who can write and deploy complex smart contract logic, a team player that will work alongside our group on designing and implementing product functionalities, and the core mechanisms that power Nexus.\n\n\n\n\nOur team is working with web3 technologies across the stack. The ideal person is someone who can work both independently and as part of a team, has a good understanding of Web3 primitives, is passionate about building scalable applications, and highly curious about DeFi and Crypto.\n\n\n\nApp layer: React.js, Redux, ReduxSaga, Reselect, GraphQL, Node.js, TypeScript, AssemblyScript, MongoDB\n\nWeb3: Solidity, OpenZeppelin, Chainlink oracles, Hardhat, Mocha, Chai, Tenderly, IPFS, The Graph, Ethers.js, Web3-onboard.js\n\nInfrastructure: AWS, CircleCI, Coveralls, Kibana, Grafana, Prometheus\n\n\n\nAreas you'll contribute to\n\n\n* Writing and compiling Solidity Smart Contracts, including quirks and edge cases\n\n* Ethereum testnets and contract deployment scripts\n\n* Integrate with and fetch data from Oracles and The Graph\n\n* Assuring blockchain and web-client integration \n\n* Containerization of backend services\n\n\n\n\n\n* 1 year of Solidity development experience and experience with some of our tech stack, like Hardhat, Node.js, Typescript, Ethers.JS, Node.JS, IPFS.\n\n* Understanding of The Graph, Oracles, and the broader web3 tech stack\n\n* Knowledge of common smart contract development design patterns, industry standards (ERCs and EIPs), and best practices. Understand typical smart contract problems like reentrancy, migrations, and upgradeability of immutable systems.\n\n* Over 3 years of backend engineering and proficiency in languages like C++, Python, JavaScript, Typescript, C# or Core Java\n\n* Obsession with clean and secure code and a tendency to test your own work\n\n\n\n\n\n\nYou will stand out if\n\n\n* You have expertise or interest in tokenomics, game theory, L2s, and DeFi protocols\n\n* You are self-motivated and eager to keep up with the fast pace of a small, remote startup team.\n\n* You have a low-ego attitude are willing to learn, grow and have product ownership.\n\n* You have an understanding of layer 2 protocols, bridges and blockchain interoperability\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout us\n\n\n* We are a small and dynamic team, passion for our work describes and sets the tone for everything that we do.\n\n* We are a fully remote organisation that strives to pave the way for the future of insurance\n\n* Our compensation package is comprised of a competitive fixed (fiat component) plus a generous token allocation\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhy are we doing this?\n\nThe concept of insurance comes from communities in the past that pooled their resources to protect each other from the risks they all faced. It works better the more people are in the pool as the numbers become more reliable. But this method isnโ€™t scalable because it is a trust-based system and the network of individuals trusted by everyone in the pool only extends so far. Hence traditional insurance companies emerged.\n\nWhen Ethereum and smart contracts came along we realized we could apply our insurance industry knowledge to our passion for decentralised technology. We realized we could build a mutual on a platform where individuals only need to trust the system, not everyone in it.\n\n\n\n\nSpecifically, we could see a solution to the problem of agencyโ€”where an insurer looks after customers' money on their behalf. We also saw the opportunity to make significant cost savings compared to the traditional insurance model. As weโ€™re already in the UK, we have the perfect base to build out this concept due to the existing law around mutuality.\n\n\n\n\nThe aim is to provide our members with more simple, transparent, accessible, and affordable financial protection against their risks.\n\nMore info here ๐Ÿ‘‰\nhttps://nexusmutual.gitbook.io/docs/welcome/faq/nexus-mutual-the-basics \n\n#Salary and compensation\n No salary data published by company so we estimated salary based on similar jobs related to Solidity, Design, Web3, Ethereum, Engineer and Backend jobs that are similar:\n\n $72,500 — $122,500/year\n

Status SNT is hiring a
Remote Senior C++ Qt QML Developer

\nAbout Status\nStatus is building the tools and infrastructure for the advancement of a secure, private, and open web3. \nWith the high level goals of preserving the right to privacy, mitigating the risk of censorship, and promoting economic trade in a transparent, open manner, Status is building a community where anyone is welcome to join and contribute.\nAs an organization, Status seeks to push the web3 ecosystem forward through research, creation of developer tools, and support of the open source community. \nAs a product, Status is an open source, Ethereum-based app that gives users the power to chat, transact, and access a revolutionary world of DApps on the decentralized web. But Status is also building foundational infrastructure for the whole Ethereum ecosystem, including the Nimbus ETH 1.0 and 2.0 clients, the Keycard hardware wallet, and the Waku messaging protocol; the p2p communication layer for Web3.\nAs a team, Status has been completely distributed since inception. Our team is currently 200+ core contributors strong, and welcomes a growing number of community members from all walks of life, scattered all around the globe. \nWe care deeply about open source, and our organizational structure has minimal hierarchy and no fixed work hours. We believe in working with a high degree of autonomy while supporting the organization's priorities.\n\n\n\n \n\nThe role\n\n\n\n\nStatus Desktop is currently in beta for Mac, Windows and Linux platforms. Current product focus is on the privacy-centric messenger and group chat functionality, and weโ€™ve just kicked off development of our new โ€˜multi-chain from the ground upโ€™ crypto Wallet. รApp browser and blockchain node functionality will follow next. Status desktop is currently built using Nim & QT for the frontend, and it shares a common backend with Status mobile that is written in Go. We are currently in the middle of a large refactor of our architecture. This refactor includes transitioning the QT front end from Nim to C++, moving all business logic to our status-go backend, and upgrading from QT5.14.2 to QT6.2. As we work in the open and are fully open source you can get a better idea of who we are and the work we are doing by browsing our team wiki here and taking a look at our Status Desktop, Status Desktop QML component library and Status Desktop and Mobile Go backend GitHub repos. You can find more information about our desktop effort in this blog post. \n\nStatus is looking for multiple senior experienced C++/QML UI devs to join our growing desktop dev team and to work with us to create a permissionless, decentralized, censorship proof group chat platform. Role responsibilities include developing new features, creating and enhancing components in our QML UI toolkit component library, advising and assisting other members of the desktop dev team with solving challenging QML UI development problems, and perhaps working on the Go backend if this is something you would enjoy. As a team we try to match task assignment with the individual interests and passions of our team members, so there is a high degree of flexibility with regards to what you would be working on. If you are a passionate C++/QML expert who knows all the ins and outs of C++ and QT/QML UI development this could be an ideal role for you.\n\n \nThe desktop team is spread between Europe and North America with crossover work hours being the European timezone afternoon on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Ideally you will be located in a timezone between UTC -8 and UTC +3 e.g. anywhere in-between Panama and Moscow. Work is async using Status, Google Meet and Github, typically in Scrum Sprints.\n\n\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\n\n\n\nBuild new features, enhance existing functionality and fix issues in the Status Desktop application.\n\nHelp develop and maintain Statusโ€™s QML UI component library (primarily used by the Status Desktop product)\n\nAdvise and assist the other developers in the Desktop team as needed to help solve the hardest QML UI development challenges\n\nContribute to C++ and Go codebases (and help with transitioning the codebase from Nim to C++ if you join us prior to this transition being completed), but donโ€™t worry if you donโ€™t have any prior Go or Nim experience.\n\nBe one of our resident experts for everything related to C++ and Qt/QML UI development.\n\n\n\n\nYou ideally will have\n\n\n\nDonโ€™t worry if you donโ€™t meet all of these criteria, weโ€™d still love to hear from you anyway if you think youโ€™d be a great fit for this role!\n\n\nExpert level experience implementing UIs using Qt/QML/C++\n\nA strong ability to think about components and modules as they relate to other components as part of a larger system\n\nA very strong attention to detail and the willingness to deliver pixel perfect UI according to the designs.\n\nProvide feedback and product ideas to the designers as needed\n\nExperience with multithreading / concurrency\n\nGood communication skills in English\n\nA strong alignment to our principles: https://status.im/about/#our-principles We are a passion driven project on a mission to build tools that protect and enable free speech. \n\n\n\nBonus points if you have\n\n\nExperience working in an open source organization\n\nA strong interest in blockchain technology and have a good understanding of Ethereum.\n\nWorked in a remote distributed environment that values asynchronous communication\n\nKnowledge of Go and/or Nim and/or Solidity is a plus\n\nExperience with using QT/QML to develop cross platform (Windows, OSX, Linux) desktop applications and mobile applications (iOS, Android) is a plus\n\nPrior experience with using Squish for functional testing QT apps\n\nExperience implementing openGL rendering in a QML context\n\nAny background or experience with cryptography and/or security\n\n\n\nCompensation\n\nWe are happy to pay in either 100% fiat or any mix of fiat and/or crypto.\n\n\n\nHiring process\n\n\n\nThe hiring process for this role is usually as follows (sometimes adapted):\n\nIntroductory conversation - Talent team\n\n3 Technical Interviews with Desktop Qt/QML Developers\n\nTeam lead interview - Iuri, Desktop Team Lead\n\n'Meet the Desktop team' interviews with 3-4 Desktop Contributors (30-40m each)\n\n\nQuestions about this role?\nFeel free to get in touch, we are more than happy to discuss the role in more detail.\n \n\n\n\n \n \n\n#Salary and compensation\n No salary data published by company so we estimated salary based on similar jobs related to Web3, Solidity, Crypto, Ethereum, Testing, Node, Mobile, Senior, Linux and Backend jobs that are similar:\n\n $55,000 — $110,000/year\n
