This team leads high-risk/high-impact projects and engages in internal and external collaborations, regularly partners with our executive team. \n\nThis position is on the Invitae Cloud “Core” Team, who is responsible for the foundational aspects of the Cloud Platform such as GitOps, Kubernetes infrastructure, and API machinery. The Core team partners closely with the “Edge” team who is responsible for our CLI, CICD factory, feature flag capabilities, and developer portal.\n\nAs a Software Engineer on the Invitae Cloud team, you will build new platform capabilities, support our existing customers, and help set the direction for cloud native technologies at Invitae. Engineers on our platform team come from a variety of backgrounds; including software engineering, DevOps, and site reliability. We are looking for engineers who bias towards automation and systems design with a dash of production support.\n\nWhat you will do:\n\n\nUse cutting edge, cloud-native, technologies like Kubernetes, containers, and service mesh to enable efficient development across the company.\n\nWork on “shaped” work as well as iterative bug-bash style engagements.\n\nBuild and maintain software systems in multiple languages; including Python, Go, and TypeScript\n\nSet design principles and define shared patterns that engineers leverage across the company.\n\nWrite structured, testable, readable, and maintainable code.\n\nSupport your software throughout its lifecycle, from ideation to production.\n\nSupport your teammates by continuing to learn and grow in an environment where failure is a part of learning, and being a novice is celebrated.\n\n\n\n\nWhat you bring:\n\n\nTypically has 5+ years of relevant work experience or any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities\n\nDemonstrated experience with full-stack architecture and engineering\n\nExperience in shipping mission-critical systems to production\n\nExperience in supporting engineering teams and production systems\n\nA demonstrated ability to to learn new technologies and new programming languages\n\nExperience working with Cloud Providers like Amazon Web Services and writing infrastructure as code.\n\nA passion for personal and professional growth\n\nA desire to operate with freedom and accountability.
