\nTeam Rubicon (TR) is seeking an experienced Senior Associate, Accounting to support the Finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible is assisting with the full range and full cycle of accounting duties handling a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger preparation, month-end closes, financial reporting, year-end audit and tax preparation, and special projects as needed around tight deadlines. The right candidate should be able to excel in a complex and ever-changing environment and should have a strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.\n\nEvery day will be a challenge, but every month brings new opportunities for an organization that is quickly becoming a household name in disaster response. This position reports to TRโs Deputy Director, Accounting & Auditing and is based out of TRโs National Headquarters in Los Angeles, CA OR based remote within the United States.\n\nDuties:\n\nGeneral Ledger Management:\n\n\n* Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.\n\n* Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes.\n\n* Ensure all financial transactions are properly recorded and reported.\n\n* Review and verify the accuracy of journal entries and supporting documentation.\n\n* Perform monthly reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts, including bank accounts, accounts receivable, accounts payable, prepaid expenses, and other general ledger accounts.\n\n* Investigate and resolve discrepancies identified during reconciliations.\n\n* Coordinate and manage the month-end and year-end closing processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.\n\n* Prepare and post accruals, deferrals, and other adjusting entries.\n\n* Ensure all transactions are appropriately recorded and reported.\n\n* Maintain and update the chart of accounts to ensure consistency and accuracy in financial reporting.\n\n* Set up new accounts as needed to reflect the organizationโs financial activities.\n\n\n\n\nAudit and Compliance:\n\n\n* Coordinate with the Accounting leaders and external auditors for annual audits.\n\n* Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures.\n\n* Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations and standards.\n\n* Ensure compliance with GAAP, IRS regulations, and other relevant accounting standards.\n\n* Coordinate and support external audits, including preparing audit schedules and responding to auditor inquiries.\n\n* Assist with the annual financial audit process and year-end 990 preparation\n\n\n\n\nFinancial Reporting:\n\n\n* Generate trial balance reports and review them for accuracy.\n\n* Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including the balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement.\n\n* Provide detailed general ledger reports to management and other departments as needed.\n\n\n\n\nEducation and Background:\n\n\n* Bachelorโs degree in accounting or another relevant field is desired\n\n* 3-4 years of accounting or equivalent experience\n\n* Non-profit accounting experience would be a plus\n\n* Strong written and verbal communication skills required\n\n* Experience with accounting software such as Microsoft Dynamics or Business Central would be a plus\n\n* Knowledge of enterprise CRM would be a plus\n\n\n\n\nSpecial Requirements: \n\n\n* \n\nThis is a full-time hybrid in-office position based out of Los Angeles OR based fully remote within the United States and provides a flexible & non-traditional work schedule (relocation expenses not provided)\n\n\n\n\n\nJob Type: \n\n\n* Full-time, salary, exempt \n\n\n\n\nJob Tier:โฏโฏ \n\n\n* Senior Associate\n\n\n\n\nPay Range:โฏ \n\n\n* $51,262.40 - $87,379.20 per year\n\n\n\n\nCultural Values:โฏ \n\n\n* Mission First, Greyshirts Always: Anyone joining TR must understand that our mission to provide disaster response comes first \n\n* Step into the Arena: TR needs leaders who arenโt afraid to dare to be greatโฏ\n\n* Everyone Has A Role Know It: Ability to successfully navigate a fast-paced, high-growth environment and solve problems in the face of ambiguityโฏ\n\n* GSD: We are entrepreneurial, resourceful, and determined no matter how chaotic the situationโฏ\n\n* Change Your Socks: We take care of ourselves and each other so we are best equipped to serve those in greatest needโฏ\n\n* Adults Only: Every team member is an adult until proven otherwiseโฏ\n\n* Your Motherโs A Donor: Every leader must be committed to fiduciary responsibility, transparency, and financial stewardshipโฏ\n\n\n\n\nPerks of the Team:โฏ \n\n\nFlexible Unlimited Paid Time Off \n\nGenerous holiday schedule (including a paid week off between winter holidays) \n\nMatching 401k contributions up to 4% with no vesting requirement \n\n100% company-paid health benefits for employees and their dependents \n\nProfessional development, leadership development and events/conferences \n\nPaid time off to volunteer with the non-profit of your choice \n\nFully stocked kitchens and frequent catered lunches and on-site gym \n\nOne-week all-inclusive onboarding experience \n\n\n\n\nThe health of our staff and volunteers is a top priority for Team Rubicon.
