Remote Senior Android Engineer

We know from first-hand experience how data benefits 9-1-1.\n \nAs a Senior Android Engineer at Rapid Deploy, you will have the hands-on opportunity to work in tandem with experienced engineers to deliver high quality and robust solutions in an Agile environment.\n\n\n In addition to the requirements below, successful candidates and team members will share a passion for high-quality software, strong engineering principles, and methodical problem-solving skills\n\n\n\nCandidate Requirements \n* BSc Computer Science/Information Systems OR equivalent experience\n* Minimum 5 years Android development experience\n* Practical experience with Jetpack Compose\n* Practical experience of software engineering methodologies\n* Experienced in writing testable code\n* Understanding of Material Design Principles and interface guidelines\n* Participated in full SDLC's with a demonstrated knowledge of analysis and design for software solutions\n* Experience in setting up and maintaining all aspects of the Google Play Console\n* Practical experience with any of the following technologies are highly advantageous:\n* Location services\n* Authentication\n* Map services\n* Real-time communication\n* Coroutines\n* HILT\n\n\n\nKey Performance Areas \n* Proficient in Kotlin, with a good knowledge of its ecosystems. \n* Good understanding of the internet, networking and common protocols\n* Good knowledge of multi-threading, data structures, OOP, Design Patterns and Web services\n* Able to create and has practical experience with testing, automation frameworks and techniques\n* Good awareness of application performance impacts and security risks\n* Able to follow and improve coding standards\n* Able to identify problem areas, bad practices, impractical solutions and raise issues with the team early\n* Able to create and has practical experience with testing, CI/CD frameworks and techniques\n* Ability to mentor Juniors/Intermediate Android Developers\n\n\n\nPersonality attributes\n* Results oriented, excellent problem solving, strong analytical skills and self-managed\n* High attention to detail\n* Technically minded and be able to understand and communicate using technical jargons and terminologies with ease\n* Must have a passion and be able to learn new technologies quickly through self-learning\n* Must be able to learn from and collaborate with other team members within an Agile and DevOps culture/mindset\n* Able to peer code and play as both a code reviewer/reviewee\n\n\n\n\n\nRapidDeploy is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal-opportunity employer.
