You will prospect and develop large enterprise accounts for new business, as well as further develop and grow existing strategic accounts in your territory. This is a unique hunter sales position and strategic account development role and requires energy, ambition and focus. An IoT Sales Director must be comfortable positioning and selling open source, services, and technical software solutions to all levels of an organization, across a wide variety of vertical IoT markets especially industrial automation.\nKey responsibilities \n\n\n* Exceed quarterly and annual bookings targets\n\n* Articulate our position on device enablement, application software, and services\n\n* Close contracts for the design and delivery of Ubuntu Core devices\n\n* Develop new pipeline through outreach, prospecting, local marketing, and industry events\n\n* Promote our brand and offerings to further extend market awareness\n\n* Build, execute and maintain a territory plan\n\n* Achieve tactical, strategic and financial objectives for the assigned region\n\n* Manage customer relationships and interactions through all stages of the sales cycle\n\n* Work with IoT Field Engineers to increase account penetration and ensure customer satisfaction\n\n* Maintain accurate data and forecasts within SalesForce\n\n* Establish productive professional relationships with key personnel, influencers and decision makers\n\n* Coordinate with colleagues, including support, delivery and management resources\n\n\n\nRequired skills and experience\n\n\n* Bachelor's level degree, preferably in engineering or computer science\n\n* Field experience in enterprise software or technology sales\n\n* Track record of achievement in sales targets and large account wins\n\n* Ability to be successful in a globally distributed team through self-discipline and self motivation\n\n* Ability to extend existing relationships with customers\n\n* Ability to develop joint strategic sales plans for increased revenue and market share\n\n* Detail oriented with effective follow-up\n\n* Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time post-covid\n\n\n\nKey differentiators\n\n\n* IoT / embedded sales experience\n\n* Open source and Linux understanding and sales experience\n\n* Proven early stage startup success\n\n* Experience with a process-oriented sales methodology\n\n* Be able to speak professionally ONE of these languages in addition to English: German, Chinese, Japanese or Korean\n\n\n\n\nCanonical is a growing international software company that works with the open-source community to deliver Ubuntu, the worldโs best free software platform.
