We know you're wanted and stalked by recruiters on LinkedIn, so let's not waste your time and get to the gist of it.\n\nWe are looking to grow our small Cloud Infrastructure team (short: ops) from three to four people. We are fully remote. We maintain 12+ Kubernetes clusters on Google Cloud Platform. Our infrastructure spans 400 (primarily short-lived) VMs. We build our infrastructure to last by applying best practices and modern technologies and keeping our tech debt under control. We're a lean ops team looking at scaling to 50+ or even 100+ clusters in the mid-term future.\n\nInfrastructure is maintained in Terraform, stateless workloads are in Kubernetes, stateful workloads are currently on VMs managed with Chef. Besides keeping Silverfin running and scalable across multiple regions, we also make sure other teams can leverage our infrastructure through self-service.\n\n## Requirements\n\nWe are looking for people skilled in the following areas:\n\n* Your work hours have some overlap with EU business hours (we require your local timezone to be within CET +/-3h)\n* Soft skills (aka, the real hard skills)\n* Someone with devops affinity (as in collaborating with dev and other teams)\n* A Linux expert\n* Infrastructure as Code\n* Configuration Management\n* Kubernetes / containers\n* CI/CD\n* Fluent in at least one development language (scripting is OK)\n* You are able to work and communicate asynchronously (we have no bus factor in our team!)\n* Security-minded\n* DBA or PostgreSQL expert is a plus\n* Experience with Ruby (on Rails) is a plus\n\nDon't worry, we don't expect you to perfectly check all the boxes. ๐ Please reference you found the job on Remote OK, this helps us get more companies to post here, thanks!
When applying for jobs, you should NEVER have to pay to apply. You should also NEVER have to pay to buy equipment which they then pay you back for later. Also never pay for trainings you have to do. Those are scams! NEVER PAY FOR ANYTHING! Posts that link to pages with "how to work online" are also scams. Don't use them or pay for them. Also always verify you're actually talking to the company in the job post and not an imposter. A good idea is to check the domain name for the site/email and see if it's the actual company's main domain name. Scams in remote work are rampant, be careful! Read more to avoid scams. When clicking on the button to apply above, you will leave Remote OK and go to the job application page for that company outside this site. Remote OK accepts no liability or responsibility as a consequence of any reliance upon information on there (external sites) or here.
