What is the job?

Looking for challenging responsibilities in the most promising tech industry? Join us as the first QA Automation Engineer (in this particular product team) in the crypto financial industry, and you will get the most out of using new technologies and test methods.

You will accelerate your career and constantly improve technically by tackling these issues and being able to utilize the personal ยฃ2000/year budget for learning & development.

You will challenge all user scenarios and test cases to investigate all possibilities of failure across a range of Web apps, and API applications. You will make sure that happy path scenarios function as advertised, and that a massive array of potential error conditions all fail gracefully, predictably and in a meaningful way to end users.ย

During your first few months, you will start by defining the tools and frameworks required to have a complete suite of automated tests. This will involve diving into the applications features and functionality, rolling up your sleeves doing manual testing. With a better understanding under your belt, you will define test plans that can beย  automated and cover UI and API testing, as well as testing failures in any of the subsystems, including databases, third-party services or other internal services.

What are we looking for?

  • You enjoy automating everything, the thought of repeating tasks manually makes you shiver, but you understand the need to do exploratory manual testing to create test plans.

  • You have experience testing Web apps, APIs applications in a fast delivering growth environment.

  • You are a hands-on, independent product tester with experience working in a multidisciplinary team formed of designers, Front and Backend developers and DevOps.

  • Youโ€™re patient when dealing with others. Youโ€™re a good listener, and happy to be a teacher when needed.

What skills do you need?

  • You have solid demonstrable experience as a QA Automation Engineer doing end-to-end testing.

  • You love breaking things and let your creativity go wild (e.g. functional and black-box testing, regression testing, system integration testing, load testing, manual testing).

  • You are proficient in at least one programming/scripting language such as Python, C#, Java or JavaScript.

  • Experience with BDD, TDD, or contract testing.

  • Docker and Git experience is important.

  • You have good knowledge and understanding of CI/CD cycles and integration test automation with CI/CD.

Who are we?ย

At RDX Works, weโ€™re a team of like-minded thinkers who have long been convinced that weโ€™re living in the earliest stages of a global financial revolution. This revolution is being fuelled by decentralized finance (or DeFi for short), which is enabling an assortment of pioneering developers and entrepreneurs to re-invent almost every financial product that is currently traded and invested in traditional markets, without requiring central authorities or siloed infrastructure. DeFi has captured a great deal of attention and investment in the crypto-aware niche, growing assets under management from $1 billion to over $200ย  billion in a few years. Impressive as its growth has been, its current market size isnโ€™t even a rounding error on the over $400 trillion held in traditional finance. Weโ€™re focused on what it will take to go from billions to trillions.

RDX went back to first principles to come up with the right technical solutionโ€”the first layer-one protocol built specifically for mainstream DeFiโ€”and we have already tested out at over 1 million transactions per second. Weโ€™re keenly aware that the need for an infinitely scalable platform is only one prerequisite among many for mass adoption, and weโ€™re also blazing new ground in the areas of purpose-built developer tools, user experiences, and regulatory integration.

We have forged a path deep into the future of what distributed ledger technology is going to look like and we need you to come and be part of the team that is making that happen right now.

If this job sounds like it was made for you, then please apply directly via the link or email [email protected] for more information.

Check out our company benefits here - RDX Works Benefitsย ย

Alternatively, if you feel like you donโ€™t match all of the requirements, we would love you to still apply anyway. We understand that confidence gaps and imposter syndrome can get in the way of meeting incredible candidates and we wouldnโ€™t want this to prevent us from meeting you; especially as we are big advocates of helping people learn & grow. This is also another reason we do not advertise salaries, we want to keep it as even a playing field as possible!

Who are we?

At RDX Works, weโ€™re a team of like-minded thinkers who have long been convinced that weโ€™re living in the earliest stages of a global financial revolution. This revolution is being fuelled by decentralized finance (or DeFi for short), which is enabling an assortment of pioneering developers and entrepreneurs to re-invent almost every financial product that is currently traded and invested in traditional markets, without requiring central authorities or siloed infrastructure. DeFi has captured a great deal of attention and investment in the crypto-aware niche, growing assets under management from $1 billion to over $200 billion in a few years.

Founded in 2017 by industry veterans from Google and Jam City and based in Los Angeles and Quebec, Maple Media is no run-of-the-mill startup. Weโ€™re backed by a $30M investment from Shamrock Capital, a Los Angeles-based private equity firm with a rich history of investing in media, entertainment, and communications. With our resources and ambitious, collaborative team, we are positioned for incredible growth and opportunity.ย

We offer highly competitive compensation packages, full benefits, unlimited PTO, flexible hours for better work/life balance, amazing colleagues, and an opportunity to shape our futureโ€”and yours.

Maple Media is seeking a talented iOS engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is comfortable with Objective C and Swift.ย

This role is based in our growing game and app development studio in Gatineau, Quebec.

About our Engineering Team: Our engineering team consists of an average of 16 years worth of experience across the team. You will get the opportunity to work in a very unique development environment where engineers get to work independently while still being fully backed by a very seasoned and supportive engineering team. As a part of the team, you will have a front row seat in learning about and working alongside so many different mobile apps in many different genres.ย

About the role:

โ€ขย Translate designs and wireframes into high quality, readable, and reliable code for both current and future Maple Media iOS apps.
โ€ขย Work on multiple apps, implementing various features and upgrades integrated various technologies including ad tech, analytics, notifications, debug tools, etc.

โ€ขย Perform code reviews for new apps and games we are considering acquiring.

Desired skills and experience:

โ€ขย BS degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent years of relevant work experience).
โ€ขย 5+ years experience in iOS development on a production app or game with a 10K+ DAU and meaningful annual revenues.
โ€ขย Strong programming experience in Objective-C and Swift.
โ€ขย Familiarity with 3rd party iOS SDKs (Ad tech, analytics) and open source libraries for common tasks, including cloud messaging/push notifications.
โ€ขย Strong knowledge of iOS SDKs, working across different versions of iOS, developing across iPhone and iPad screen sizes and Appleโ€™s Human Interface Guidelines.
โ€ขย Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements.

The Recruiting Process:ย

After the initial screening process with our recruiting team and the hiring manager, weโ€™ll invite you to 2-3 interviews with other members of the engineering team, including your potential peers and senior management. This is an opportunity to get to know each other and identify if the role is aligned with your skillset and career goals. Typically, candidates we move forward with understand their career goals and have spent a few minutes reviewing our products and the caliber of our team on LinkedIn to get a sense of who we are and what we do.ย

The interviews may be held remotely or in person, and include some behavioral and problem-solving questions. We may follow up with a take home assignment that lets you show off your skillset. This exercise doesnโ€™t require any prior company specific knowledge, should take no more than a few hours to complete and is representative of the work we do every day. We also typically check 1-2 references from former managers to hear about your impact firsthand from someone youโ€™ve worked with, especially to confirm fit with our culture and ability to drive impact in a fast paced startup environment. We also will make time for any and all questions you have about the role, your impact and trajectory, should you join our team.

Maple Media is an equal opportunity employer. We do not discriminate based upon race, religion, color, ancestry, national origin, sex (including pregnancy, childbirth, or related medical conditions), sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, age, disability. Diversity: Letโ€™s face it, all great minds donโ€™t think alike. Our unique perspective shapes the diverse portfolio of products we design.ย
Innovation: Weโ€™re in the business of pushing limits and writing new roles for the subscription app economy and we thrive off of big ideas.
Curiosity: We believe that curious minds fuel innovation. We iterate on the way we workโ€“we care more about the why, not the how.

Space 48 is hiring a

Remote Senior React Engineer

You'll form a key part of a team of developers building React-based components and applications to support our SaaS eCommerce and headless platforms.\n\nAs an example of what you'll be working on: we're building **headless eCommerce sites with Gatsby** and rich **interactive product customisers with Next.js on Vercel**.\n\nYou start your day in a team Stand Up discussing progress you made yesterday, listening to your team members describe their current issues and dropping some knowledge bombs on how you โ€œsolved this last timeโ€. Youโ€™re working from home today, so you pay the pet tax and encourage your four-legged-friend wave to the camera before logging off.\n\nFirst up youโ€™ve got a pair-programming session with a Junior Developer in your team to help them through a tough search component that theyโ€™ve been working on. Theyโ€™ve been steadily improving under your experienced wing and are turning into a really productive team member.\n\nAfter lunch youโ€™ll set your Slack status and turn on Do Not Disturb for a couple of hours while you debug a weird issue with a customerโ€™s site. Thereโ€™s been a change to the out of stock logic recently to support multiple warehouses. You update your unit test suite to cover this unexpected scenario and tell the Project Manager the good news! You push your feature branch to Bitbucket and watch Bitbucket Pipelines build your artifact and prove that your tests pass.\n\nYour JIRA issue has automatically transitioned to โ€œIn Code Reviewโ€ and you open your pull request, studying your diff carefully before assigning it to your team mate for a sanity check.\n\nTomorrow (assuming all is well!) youโ€™ll merge your pull request into a release branch and let Pipelines deploy it to Staging where it will be regression tested by the QA Team and their bank of automated tests. It should be out to Production by the end of the week, providing we can get through the testing and get client sign off by 2pm on Thursday.\n\n**If you read this and it sounds like your ideal job โ€” we want you on the team!**\n\n### What you'll be doing\n\nThe following should give you an idea of how youโ€™ll be expected to typically be spending your time. Itโ€™s not set in stone and it may change from week-to-week, but it gives an idea of what is expected from the role.\n\n#### Software Development (80%)\n\nThe majority of your time will be spent working with your team to deliver software that meets the needs of our customers. This isnโ€™t time that youโ€™ll spend entirely in your editor, thereโ€™s stand up, sprint planning, scoping, architecting and designing that youโ€™ll take part in to make sure weโ€™re building exactly what we need in the right way.\n\nGiven your experience, a portion of this time is expected to be spent assisting other team members in delivering their work effectively.\n\n#### Process and Tooling Improvements (10%)\n\nMaking sure that we donโ€™t sit still and keep evolving the way we build and deliver software is a critical investment of time, particularly from a team member with your experience. Use this time to try that tool you read about and see if itโ€™s worthy of being a part of our toolchain.\n\n#### Personal Development (10%)\n\nKeeping up with new software releases, development practices, horror stories and post mortems are an essential part of any Software Developerโ€™s time! Use this time to push forward your objectives and research tools and techniques you need to stay productive.\n \n\nPlease mention the words **PELICAN ABILITY HAMSTER** when applying to show you read the job post completely (#RMTguMTg4LjczLjIyOQ==). \nThis is a six-month contract.\n\nYou will form a key part of a team of developers building and maintaining large, complicated Magento sites.\n\nWe're looking for a Magento Developer with experience of the frontend and backend of magento to help us expand and improve the range of Magento stores that we currently look after. We work with a large number of brands like Richer Sounds, Cox and Cox and Bettys all of which have the vision and drive to push their online presence to the limit! You'll spend your time working closely with our Magento Practice Lead and your squad's Technical Lead to really get to know your customers and their environments.\n\nAs well as Magento 2.x, we have a number of Magento 1.x stores that we're in the process of migrating over to a support platform, so you may need to dip your toes into some older codebases. We're actively moving our customers away from Magento 1.x though.\n\nA Typical Day\n\nYou start your day in a team Stand Up discussing progress you made yesterday, listening to your team members describe their current issues and dropping some knowledge bombs on how you “solved this last time”. You’re working from home today, so you pay the pet tax and encourage your four-legged-friend wave to the camera before logging off.\n\nFirst up you’ve got a pair-programming session with a Junior Developer in your team to help them through a tough ERP integration that they’ve been working on. They’ve been steadily improving under your experienced wing and are turning into a really productive team member.\n\nAfter lunch you’ll set your Slack status and turn on Do Not Disturb for a couple of hours while you debug a weird issue with a customer’s site. There’s been a change to the out of stock logic recently to support multiple warehouses. You update your unit test suite to cover this unexpected scenario and tell the Project Manager the good news! You push your feature branch to Bitbucket and watch Bitbucket Pipelines build your artifact and prove that your tests pass.\n\nYour JIRA issue has automatically transitioned to “In Code Review” and you open your pull request, studying your diff carefully before assigning it to your team mate for a sanity check.\n\nTomorrow (assuming all is well!) you’ll merge your pull request into a release branch and let Pipelines deploy it to Staging where it will be regression tested by the QA Team and their bank of automated tests. \nJob Title:          Software Development Manager\n\nLocation:          Home-working, although frequent travel is required (UK and international).\n\nHours of work:  37.5 hours per week  \n\nReporting to:Head of R&D\n\nAt ByBox, our software solutions and smart locker technologies are keeping our UK distribution, warehousing and technical services divisions working 24/7, 365 days a year, minimising delivery times and inventory levels. As the market leader for field service supply chain solutions in the UK, we rely on our software team to innovate and build new solutions, as well as developing our existing systems, keeping ByBox ahead of the competition and reinforcing our position as a successful innovator within UK field support.\n\nWe are also successfully re-positioning ourselves as a global technology provider for locker delivery solutions, predominantly focussing on the field service supply chain. This is an exciting departure from the previous market position as a distribution company with a strong technology capability. This change of position is allowing us to operate a different revenue model, through software subscriptions and licensing, rather than through logistics services.\n\nTo support this, the software development department must deliver the correct short and long-term projects to enable that re-positioning.\n\nThe Position\n\nAs a Software Development Manager at ByBox your duties include:\n\nLeadership. Lead, motivate and influence a team of expert software developers to deliver value for ByBox while ensuring software quality. Ensure the developers have all the tools they need, be it hardware, software, or training, to do their job to the required level.\n\nRelationships. Work closely with colleagues in the software development department to ensure the development team are aligned to business priorities and strategy. Develop strong relationships with internal customers to understand their perspectives and to positively influence the reputation of software development.\n\nRecruitment. Take a highly pro-active role in the recruitment of software developers. Work with the ByBox recruitment team to ensure the highest-quality candidates are identified and engaged effectively. Also, engage with external organisations to seek the right talent and to promote ByBox as a forward-thinking employer of software developers.\n\nResourcing. Work closely with the Business Interface Manager and Project Managers to ensure the right developers are available at the right time for delivering the Software Development Pipeline. Where necessary, own the relationship with outsourced-development teams and the process for bringing on additional software developers on a temporary-contract basis. Ensure the software developers are appropriately assigned to projects, and given opportunities to work on other projects as required and fairly. Respond to business needs through the appropriate deployment of developers, while protecting long-term contingency in capacity so we can quickly respond to opportunities.\n\nPeople development. Develop and retain our people by fostering a positive environment for personal and professional development through continuously engaging with developers, appraisals, objectives and training plans. Provide a platform for developers to raise concerns or offer new ideas, support one another, and resolve conflict, and where necessary manage performance or disciplinary concerns. Promote and develop the key values from our Ways of Working, including innovation, trust and openness.\n\nContinuous improvement. Drive continuous improvement and adoption of best practices within the software development team to optimize the performance of the team. By pragmatically weighing the business need for delivery with the need to keeping technology current, help to ensure the team is producing the right solution at the right time.\n\nDocumentation. Define and own the good practice for technical documentation, demos, and handovers amongst the team for the benefit of colleagues, and customers requiring technical API documentation.\n\nTechnology. Support your team in ensuring they are abreast of the latest developments in technologies, and they have the tools they need to adopt appropriate technology. Be familiar with the current technologies in your team, and be aware of upcoming technologies. You do not need to be the technology expert within your team, but must be able to articulate the pros and cons of competing technologies and justify investment to senior management.\n\nQuality Assurance. Work very closely with the Quality Assurance Manager to ensure QA practices are aligned across the department, particularly in the adoption of Test Automation and the Test Automation Engineers reporting to the QA Manager.\n\nWorkload. Manage your own objectives and priorities effectively and without close supervision. Although you won't be directly managing the work of your direct reports (this will be done by Software Project Managers), a good awareness of their current work will be crucial in making good decisions. You will be able to escalate issues to the Head of R&D and will also be required to make recommendations. You will also be involved in the technology strategy by supporting the Head of R&D with departmental planning activities as required.\n\nThe Person\n\nThe Software Development manager does not need to be currently active in writing code, and the role does not entail any code-writing, but there is room for a successful candidate to define the level of their technical involvement, based on their knowledge. The ideal candidate will:\n\n\n* Have a passion for Technology and good understanding of trends in Software Development.\n\n* Have a strong technical foundation in Software Development.\n\n* Embrace a cross-functional approach to team management and appreciate the challenges therein.\n\n* Foster an open, collaborative environment, and balance people's needs with company objectives.\n\n* Appreciate the challenges of managing a team of home-workers, and home-working yourself.\n\n* Understand how to lead and manage a team of highly talented, distributed Software Developers.\n\n\n\n\nEssential qualifications and experience:\n\n\n* Team Leadership or Management, particularly teams of Software Developers\n\n* Technical background.\n\n* Worked with home-working or distributed teams.\n\n* Management of outsourced development partners.\n\n* Excellent command of written and spoken English.\n\n\n\n\nDesirable qualifications and experience:\n\n\n* Experience working in a team of primarily .Net & JavaScript developers.\n\n* Experience in the logistics industry.\n\n* Knowledge of the ByBox domain\n\n\n \n\n#Salary and compensation\n No salary data published by company so we estimated salary based on similar jobs related to Executive, Developer, Digital Nomad, JavaScript, API, Travel and Senior jobs that are similar:\n\n $60,000 — $120,000/year\n
