Weโ€™ve designed our culture, communications, and tools to support a nationwide distributed team since the beginning. Being remote by design allows Ad Hoc to be thoughtful and intentional about creating diverse teams and supporting them with a work environment that fits their lives. With a generous PTO policy and Slack channels for every interest (from birding to space nerds to parenting) our culture embraces the things happening in your life. Maybe you need to adjust your schedule to care for your family or take a bike ride. At Ad Hoc, thatโ€™s embraced. \nWhat youโ€™ll do\n\nAs a Senior UX Designer on our Marketing and Communications team, youโ€™ll create strong visual designs for external and internal Ad Hoc communications. You will be part of a team of designers, writers, and event professionals committed to maintaining and elevating the Ad Hoc brand and communicating our value to customers and partners. Your work will help the Ad Hoc team impact the lives of millions of people that interact with government services.\n\n\nDeliver design work, including but not limited to marketing collateral, websites, customer and internal communications, business development materials, presentation decks, graphics for social media and ad campaigns, and other business visual communications\n\nProvide graphic support to our proposal team working on winning government contracts\n\nUse your design skills to make strong typography, layout, and hierarchy choices\n\nExplore the problem before creating the right solution\n\nMaintain and expand on the Ad Hoc brand throughout visual communications\n\nManage deadlines through teamwork\n\nOwn and execute projects from concept to finished release\n\nProvide design critique, heuristic evaluations, and competitive analysis\n\nProvide and receive mentorship from other designers\n\nContribute to design libraries, systems, and style guides\n\n\n\nWhat we hope you'll bring\n\n\nStrong background in human-centered graphic design and visual communications for print and web\n\n3-5 years minimum experience designing business communications for print and PDF distribution\n\nPortfolio demonstrating an understanding of good visual design, page layout, and typography for print/PDF deliverables and web\n\nIntermediate to expert level skills in Adobe Creative Cloud, especially Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop\n\nAbility to translate plain text content into compelling and visually appealing narratives for print and web\n\nAbility to write HTML and CSS to build static website pages\n\nAbility to create basic spot illustrations and infographics that convey information or add visual interest to increase readability and content consumption\n\nAn understanding of best UX practices for website design\n\nNice to have skills or interest in:\n\n\n\nUnderstanding of accessibility and how to achieve it for websites and PDFs\n\nExperience or interest with animation, motion graphics, or basic video editing/production\n\nJavaScript skills for website design and production\n\nExperience using Git to contribute to websites and digital products\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMore than that, our ideal candidate wants to contribute to work that is bigger than themselves and wants to make a difference collaborating with their team. They care deeply about building better products, better relationships, and better trust in each interaction people have with their government. They believe in intuitive, easy-to-use government services. They collaborate well with engineers, product, stakeholders, and other teams. They mentor and guide more junior designers. \n\nAnd if you donโ€™t check every box on the list? That doesnโ€™t mean you canโ€™t help us in our mission to deliver critical government services. Talk to us!\nSome basic requirements\n\n\nAll work must be conducted within the U.S., excluding U.S. territories. Some federal contracts require U.S. citizenship to be eligible for employment.\n\nYou must be legally authorized to work in the U.S now and in the future without sponsorship.\n\nOur screening involves completing a homework assignment that is then graded blind to remove bias. We do not do tricky, unreliable whiteboarding tests. Learn more about our homework and processes. \n\nYears of Experience:  3-5+ years \n\nDegree Requirement: Bachelorโ€™s Degree in a design discipline is helpful but not required. Acceptable substitution: 3-5 years of hands-on experience in a relevant field and a high school diploma.\n\n\n\n\nTips for applying\n\n\nIf your application seems like a good match, weโ€™ll invite you to complete a quick writing assignment, which we evaluate blindly. This helps us have a greater understanding of how you approach design problems, while also reducing bias from our hiring process. We will not ask you to do any form of whiteboarding or spec work.\n\nInclude a portfolio of 3-5 UX-focused work samples with your application. We want to understand how you think and solve problems. Clearly explain your process and the reasoning behind the decisions made, include visual artifacts, and identify both your role and the impact you had. Your portfolio can be anything from a website to a slide deck. How you build it is up to you.  \n\n\n\n\nAd Hoc is a great place to be. We are looking to bring on a Demand Generation Specialist to join our Marketing team! This is a huge opportunity for you to work with one of the fastest-growing companies in the U.S. and learn the ins and outs of the online business world. Over the last couple of years, our company has seen explosive growth---and there is no sign of it slowing down.\n\nWe truly believe in the power of inbound marketing and have had outstanding success with it over the years. With a double-sided marketplace and lengthy sales cycle, there are an abundance of opportunities to market to our audience depending on where they are in their journey.\n\n**What's the Position Like?**\n\nAs the Demand Generation Specialist at Empire Flippers, you'll be a vital part of our marketing team. You'll work closely with other team members to plan, coordinate, execute, and evaluate your demand gen strategies.\n\nHere are some typical responsibilities for this position:\n\n- Create and manage content that attracts qualified audiences such as eBooks, reports, webinars, and infographics\n- Create lead magnet funnels from scratch --- landing page, thank you page, delivery, follow-up, etc.\n- Use HubSpot to track lead nurturing performance through email campaigns, content marketing, paid media and social media channels to identify opportunities for new campaigns or strategies\n- Maintain audience segmentation to ensure prospects, leads, and customers are receiving valuable content relevant to them\n- Meet KPI goals for lifecycle stages (subscriber, lead, MQL, etc.), calls scheduled, content downloads, marketplace interactions, and form submissions\n\n**What Skills Do I Need?**\n\n**You need to have immaculate attention to detail.** Since our marketing campaigns reach hundreds of thousands of people, one slight mistake can easily hurt conversions. We are looking for a detail-oriented individual that also knows which aspects of a project to be most careful with.\n\n**A can-do attitude.** You understand resilience and being able to power through obstacles that come your way. You're open to collaboration to get things done and you try to bring your best to everything you do.\n\n**Be a good communicator.** Good communication will be an essential part of this role. Not only will you need it to coordinate with other team members, but your work may be the first thing a prospect sees, so we are after someone that can deliver on messaging on voice.\n\n**A self-starter.** We need to see some evidence that you're able to get up every morning, bite the bullet and just get on with it, even if you've tried four coffee shops and none have decent wifi. You won't have eyes looking over your shoulder on a day-to-day basis, so you'll be working in almost full autonomy. We'll need to trust you to deliver the goods. In a nutshell: you must be highly motivated, goal-driven, and coachable.\n\n**Affinity for writing and design.** While we welcome collaboration with other content creators on the team, this role will require you to create some content on your own. Experience with writing, graphic design, and web design will be extremely valuable to us.\n\n**Required Skills**\n\n- Intermediate to advanced HubSpot Marketing Hub knowledge with focus on email, workflows, design tools, and contact management\n- Intermediate to advanced marketing funnel knowledge\n- Basic to intermediate graphic design knowledge, preferably with Illustrator, Photoshop, or InDesign\n- Basic to intermediate web design knowledge, mainly HTML and CSS\n- Basic to intermediate SEO knowledgeย \n- Basic to intermediate CRO knowledge\n- Copywriting experience\n\n**Preferred Skills**\n\nOther software knowledge that isn't required, but we find valuable:\n\n- Monday.com productivity tool\n- HubSpot Sales Hub\n- Google Analytics\n- Google Data Studio\n- Ahrefs\n\n**What's the Lifestyle Like?**\n\nOur company culture is built on the idea of travel, remote work, and living life on your terms.\n\nWe're not looking to put you in a cubicle and waste your time in traffic. You'll be working hard, playing hard, and learning all about our company and what we stand for during this time.\n\nApart from meeting us in person every now and then, you're free to work and live anywhere you'd like and join the new class of digital nomads -- we're homeless but have a passport, credit card, and a laptop.\n\nYou'll become friends with people who will be able to give you massive insights into how digital businesses work, how they scale, and, of course, how to invest in them or sell them.\n\n**Love It. What's the Catch?**\n\nThis isn't a gap year experience. This is not a temporary contract.\n\nIf you're applying just because you want something to fund your travels before you start seeking out a "serious" job, then you probably shouldn't apply.\n\nWe're looking for career-minded people who share our vision and see where we're going. We want you to be part of that vision and help us get there over the long haul.\n\nAnd while we play hard and sometimes really do work next to the pool all day, we work even harder. Sometimes you will be putting in a 10-12 hour day as business demands arise. You'll be working weird hours to match other team members time zones, and you'll sometimes have to face some critical feedback.\n\nYou will be expected to perform to our expectations and really help us grow our business to the next level. We're counting on you.\n\nIf you can see yourself growing into a profitable and meaningful career with us and love what we do, we want you to be part of our team.\n\n**Details to Keep in Mind**\n\nWhile theย  Demand Generation Specialist role will in large part be built from scratch, this position itself is not an entry level role. You will earn $2,000/month base rate plus immediately join our lucrative bonus sharing plan. Should company performance hit 100% of on-target earnings, this role has a very good opportunity to earn $65,000 in the first year.\n\nWe're going to start you off slow. You'll first learn about our company and what each department does; then you will be given some low-level tasks to ease you into the position. Over time, your skills will grow and you'll be making a lot of decisions on your own. However, you will always have our support and knowledge to lean on. We aren't going to throw you to the wolves --- you'll be part of a high-functioning team that is here to help wherever we can.\n\nOur Director of Marketing and Marketing Ops Supervisor will be reviewing every application. If we think you're a good fit, we will reach out to you to do a video call interview. After the first interviews are done, our final candidates will be brought back for a final second interview before we make our decision.\n\n***US resident requirements: If you are in the US, we will accept candidates residing in Texas, Florida, or Colorado, as we are registered for payroll in these states. Otherwise, US candidates should plan to live abroad or have plans to relocate to Texas, Florida, or Colorado.**\n\n**We have a no side project policy: we do not allow any ownership, association, or affiliations with online businesses or websites. If you are the owner of an online business, then you will be expected to either sell the business before you join us or sunset it upon accepting a job offer from us. If you are not comfortable with this, please do not apply.**\n\n**A background check is required.ย ** \n\nPlease mention the word **OPENNESS** when applying to show you read the job post completely (#RMjE2LjczLjIxNi4xMTQ=). This is a feature to avoid spam applicants. Companies can search these words to find applicants that read this and see they're human.\n\n \n\n#Salary and compensation\n $30,000 — $70,000/year\n \n\n#Location\nWorldwide

# Front-end Web Developer\nWe are seeking a Front-End Web Developer to fill the specialized role of Experiment Engineer. An Experiment Engineer manufactures HTML, SCSS, and JavaScript code to run on top of client websites that alters the experience of the site in an effort to improve the conversion rates of key performance metrics. They are comfortable working across a variety of different front-end frameworks and libraries as well as APIs. They must also be comfortable working to validate concepts by choosing the cheapest route to MVP versus over-engineering any particular task. They are familiar with CRO platforms such as Optimizely, Convert, VWO, and Google Optimize.\n\n**Responsibilities include:**\n\n* Develops efficient and robust experimentation code using HTML, SCSS, and JavaScript which is injected on top of existing client sites via experimentation software such as Optimizely, Convert, and VWO.\n* Engages as a technical consultant, providing web development expertise and insights, on internal and client-facing video calls. \n* Communicates thoroughly and sets clear expectations with Project Managers, Quality Assurance Analysts, and clients.\n* Offers ideas and provides feedback to help grow and scale Cro Metrics as a business.\n\n**Qualifications & Experience:**\n\nThis is a high communication role, and while no specific experience is required, you must be capable of learning new technical concepts quickly, regularly, and be able to communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.\n\n* 2+ years of experience writing HTML, SCSS, and JavaScript in a professional environment.\n* Critical thinking โ€” You can analyze a problem, craft a solution, and love iterating on your own processes. Every experiment is unique and has a different set of challenges so we often find ourselves in uncharted waters.\n* Attention to detail โ€” You have high attention to visual detail, can interpret specifications, can communicate detailed instructions, and leave no edge case unattended.\n* Updates internal documentation to help ensure site caveats and learnings are available and disseminated to peers.\n* Proficiency with Google Suite (Gmail, calendars, spreadsheets, etc).\n\n**Nice-to-haves:**\n\n* Experience with A/B/n tests or with leading testing platforms such as Optimizely, Convert, VWO, etc.\n* Experience with Jira, Confluence, Slack, and Zoom.\n* Has worked in professionally in eCommerce or web-development, especially modern frameworks (Shopify, WordPress, etc.) and libraries (React, Angular, etc).\n* Computer Science degree or professional experience in back-end development.\n* Experience working fully remotely.\n* Knowledge of User Experience concepts.\n* Knowledge of Agile concepts.\n* Agency experience.\n\n**Our Hiring Process**\n\nWeโ€™re glad youโ€™re interested in working with us. We have a fairly unusual hiring process, but it has proven to work well both for us and for potential new hires. We have found that demonstrating basic competency is the best predictor of initial qualification for working with us, followed by actual work.\n\nOur process reflects that: below, we outline our values and how we work, and then ask you to complete a small task. Assuming we like your response, we will hire you for a โ€œpaid interviewโ€ where you start working with us for a small number of hours each week. If both parties like working together, we expand the relationship. If not, we go our separate ways and both sides โ€œwonโ€ in the deal!\n\nIf you have questions as you go through this, make notes and if we havenโ€™t answered them by the end, feel free to email [email protected] or [email protected]. \n\n**Company Benefits**\n\n* 100% remote, continue to work from where you are based\n* Health insurance reimbursement allowance\n* Retirement plan with 4% company match (subject to a 3 month waiting period)\n* Professional gear (e.g. MacBook, monitor, and noise-canceling headset)\n* Annual All Hands trips\n* Paid Parental Leave\n* Liberal vacation policy\n* Access to group performance coaching sessions\n\n**Our Culture**\n\n* **Remote has always been our thing.** Weโ€™ve been fully remote since 2010, so unlike companies that have been remote since March of 2020, we designed our company and culture behind the principles of high-performing remote teams. Weโ€™ve always believed remote is the future of work, and much like the experimentation we do, have iterated a lot along the way in a persistent effort to get it right.\n* **Weโ€™re a remote company.** We are spread out all over the country. Daytime availability is required for syncing with the team via Slack or Zoom, but Experiment Engineers enjoy all the flexibility remote working has to offer. Want to go on a mountain bike ride in the middle of the day? Cool, donโ€™t forget your helmet! Need to pick the kids up from school? Nice, youโ€™ve got parent of the year in the bag. We stay connected through both synchronous and asynchronous communications.\n* **We value elegant code as much as you do, but we move fast.** Weโ€™re writing code that runs on top of existing websites. Some tests only run for a few days before disappearing (though some do so well they become a permanent part of the clientโ€™s site). There will be polling patterns and liberal use of !important.\n* **Again, weโ€™re a remote company.** That makes communication โ€” including writing and reading comprehension โ€” extremely important. This is not a simple โ€œpull tickets and give sign offโ€ gig. Successful applicants enjoy collaborating across teams, defining and clarifying needs, documenting processes, improving processes, and uploading custom emoji to Slack.\n\nYou can read more about our [culture and values here](https://crometrics.com/culture/) or [learn more about the team](https://crometrics.com/meet-the-team/).\n\n**Our Stack**\n\n* **Email/Calendar:** GSuite\n* **CRO Platforms:** Optimizely, VWO, Google Optimize, Convert, AB Tasty\n* **IDE:** Your choice. Most of our folks use VSCode.\n* **Messaging App:** Slack\n* **Video Chat:** Zoom\n* **Task Management:** Jira \n* **Documentation:** Confluence\n* **Code Repository:** GitHub\n* **Time Tracking Software:** Harvest\n* **Design Prototyping Software:** Figma \n\nAt Cro Metrics, our goal is to create a remote environment that celebrates the differences that make us, us. We strive to create an inclusive and equitable space, but we realize we donโ€™t always get it right. Weโ€™re continually working together to create mutual respect and opportunities to learn from one another and we encourage people of color, women, individuals with disabilities, and LGBTQIA+ individuals to apply.\n\nWeโ€™re looking for team members located in the U.S. regardless of race, ethnicity, age, national origin, marital status, parental status, veteran status, citizenship status, gender, gender-identity/expression, sexual orientation, disability, genetic information, and any other protected or unprotected class we may have missed. (BONUS: Did we miss anyone? Let us know and weโ€™ll add it here.)\n \n\nPlease mention the words **GAZE AWFUL EMOTION** when applying to show you read the job post completely (#RMjE2LjczLjIxNi4xMTQ=). \nAbout the Role\nWe’re building a welcoming & flexible team that prizes collaboration over competition, one which provides opportunities to learn new skills, mentor junior developers and contribute to the direction of both the team & the products we’re responsible for. This is a high trust environment where we allow team members to manage their own time, take holidays as they need it and reward them with competitive salaries and equity.\n\nOur stack is Ember, but if you've used frameworks like React or Angular you're the kind of person we're looking for and we'll help get you up to speed. As we support only evergreen browsers we can push the boundaries of what’s possible on the web as a platform, on top of a system that strips any hyperbole from the term “big data”. In close collaboration with analysts & clients you’ll get to see the apps & visualisations you’re building used every day to hunt for hackers and protect systems. \n\nOur ideal candidates are sensitive to the needs of the users of their software & love learning more about their tools every day. Get excited about new features in Chrome Devtools? Tested your work in screen readers? Ever lost half an hour getting an animation’s bezier curve to be just therightkind of bouncy? Looking for a challenge that’s out of the ordinary? Get in touch.\n\nApply with your CV and tell us a bit about why you would like to work at CrowdStrike and if you wish include links to your portfolio or projects you've worked on.\n\nWe'll aim to review your application within a day or two and if we think you'll be a good fit we'll schedule an initial phone call. If we think CrowdStrike might be the place for you after that we'll invite you for an on-site interview where we'll review some code, discuss architecture in modern web apps, work processes and professional development. This will be followed by a second technical interview by video call, after which you'll get an answer within 3-4 days.\n\nWe're looking for the following skills but welcome all talented candidates:\n\n\n* A desire to collaborate closely with users, designers, & testers to deliver quality software that solves problems.\n\n* A deep understanding of Javascript and considerable experience building thick-client applications with modern frameworks such as Ember, AngularJS, Backbone or React/Flux.\n\n* Experience with testing frameworks, tools and methodologies such as QUnit, Mocha & Selenium.\n\n* Functional knowledge & interest in developing genuinely accessible interfaces.\n\n* Strong HTML & CSS skills, with bonus points for experience with animation, knowledge of approaches to scalable/modular CSS, & preprocessors such as SCSS & LESS.\n\n* Familiarity with client-side build processes & tools - Grunt, Gulp, Ember CLI etc\n\n* Comfortable with Git/version control workflows.\n\n\n\n\nBonus Points Awarded For:\n\n\n* Experience creating or contributing to open source projects.\n\n* Experience with graphics & visualisation tools such as D3 or ThreeJS.\n\n* Interest & experience with design & data visualisation.\n\n* Experience with coaxing that last frame-per-second out of browsers.\n\n\n \n\n#Salary and compensation\n No salary data published by company so we estimated salary based on similar jobs related to Design, Developer, Digital Nomad, React, JavaScript, Video, CSS, HTML, Angular and Junior jobs that are similar:\n\n $60,000 — $117,500/year\n

\nHubstaff is a fast-growing startup in the time tracking and project management space that fully embraces remote work. You work when and where you want. We care a lot about our culture, having fun while working hard, and our annual retreats.\n\nHere's a video from our last retreat that shows what it's like to work for Hubstaff. https://hubstaff.wistia.com/medias/9pyt01aemt\n\nWe are looking for a talented senior front-end engineer to join our passionate development team.\n\nThe correct person will take pride in their work, have extreme attention to detail, and be able to get their hands dirty implementing HTML/CSS/JS frontends. You will be expected to implement views using the Slim templating engine within Ruby on Rails. Implementing the designs from our marketing team will be the majority of the job role.\n\nFamiliarity working with Sass/Scss as well as JavaScript is preferable.\n\nWe are looking for a well-rounded front-end developer who also has the backend chops to make modifications to our custom Wordpress theme and implement server-side aspects of their projects using Ruby on Rails.\n\nThis position will report to our one of the Hubstaff server team leads and work closely with our other engineers.
