What is the job?ย
Crypto currency and decentralized finance (DeFi) are disruptive, visible, and rapidly growing areas of finance. Weโre looking for a Cyber Security Analyst to join our security team, and tackle the unique security challenges our industry faces.
In this role, you will work closely with the Head of Cyber Security, supporting all areas of the business. Good security data drives informed business decisions, and this role is critical in delivering the actionable security data we need.ย
Weโre a small organisation thatโs growing fast, within a high-risk industry that faces regulatory challenges: weโre looking for people who want the fast rate of change and complexity that comes with this territory. Facing capable and sophisticated threats, we need innovative open-minded people to help us deal with them.
What are we looking for?ย
You will enjoy working in an ambitious, fast-paced environment that requires critical and strategic thinking, and a willingness to collaborate to create highly visible work across multiple channels.
Working directly with the Head of Cyber Security, you will take visible ownership of security solutions and activities across the entire company, including:
Day to day security operations โ monitoring and responding to security alerts and events.
Supporting the security team with new research, analysis, and programmes of change within the company.
Configure and manage security tooling used to protect company data, assets, and people.
Ongoing management and configuration of security tooling.
Support the devops team, and the wider business, with their security problems and questions.
Youโll be identifying new security trends, in both attack and defence, and be responsible for leading appropriate responses.
What do you need?
We have no formal education or certification requirements - the quality of your past work and skills will speak for itself.
You will need to have excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills โ be prepared to show these off in the interview.
Evidence of ongoing work within the security ecosystem (e.g. GitHub projects, involvement in open source projects, or security research).
Good English verbal communication skills.
Assertive, passionate and not afraid to challenge conventions โ strong opinions, loosely held.
Willingness and enthusiasm to learn, thrive and adapt in the fast-paced crypto services arena we operate within.ย
Ideally you will have operational experience with Google Workspaces, AWS, and a SIEM solution.
Solid understanding of the risks and threats SaaS and Cloud based services face โ and how to deal with them.
Youโll need to demonstrate familiarity with MDM solutions, and understand security issues around end user devices like laptops and mobile phones, for a remote workforce.
Nice to haves:ย
Prior experience in FinTech and/or crypto is highly desirable โ be prepared to explain how crypto currencies work, and the common security challenges.
Experience with Palo Alto products and technologies is an advantage.
Familiarity with encryption techniques and distributed teams, and a keen understanding of cryptocurrency, are distinct advantages.
Who are we?ย
At RDX Works (formally Radix DLT), we're a team of like-minded thinkers who have long been convinced that we're living in the earliest stages of a global financial revolution. This revolution is being fuelled by decentralized finance (or DeFi for short), which is enabling an assortment of pioneering developers and entrepreneurs to re-invent almost every financial product that is currently traded and invested in traditional markets, without requiring central authorities or siloed infrastructure. DeFi has captured a great deal of attention and investment in the crypto-aware niche, growing assets under management from $1 billion to $40 billion in less than a year. Impressive as its growth has been, its current market size isn't even a rounding error on the over $111 trillion held in traditional finance. We're focused on what it will take to go from billions to trillions.
RDX went back to first principles to come up with the right technical solutionโthe first layer-one protocol built specifically for mainstream DeFiโand we have already tested out at over 1 million transactions per second. We're keenly aware that the need for an infinitely scalable platform is only one prerequisite among many for mass adoption, and we're also blazing new ground in the areas of purpose-built developer tools, user experiences, and regulatory integration.
We have forged a path deep into the future of what distributed ledger technology is going to look like and we need you to come and be part of the team that is making that happen right now.
Alternatively, if you feel like you donโt match all of the requirements, we would love you to still apply anyway. We understand that confidence gaps and imposter syndrome can get in the way of meeting incredible candidates and we wouldnโt want this to prevent us from meeting you; especially as we are big advocates of helping people learn & grow.

\nJoining the Live Games Team\n\nWe’re focused on one mission: to make our successful MMO games technologically fit for 2021 and beyond. Our teams pull off daring and courageous things, like writing our own transpiler to migrate hundreds of thousands of lines of code from Flash to TypeScript - and then rolling that out to a global, highly engaged player base, successfully. No-one has done this before us, definitely not at this scale.\n\nWe’ve moved almost all of our critical infrastructure to AWS; we run Lambda functions written in node.js in production, while also feeding our huge Java monolith that just kept growing over the years. We integrate React and Vue apps into our legacy Flash games; we mix and match and build for the future, while respecting our past.\n\nClearly this isn’t for everyone. It’s for the daring, the creative, the out-of-the-box-thinkers, the experienced, the multi-linguists, the curious, the getting-sh*-done-ers. If you think you’re one of them, you may have found your new home. Come join us.\n\nThe opportunity\n\n\n* You will be sharing the ownership of the technical design and implementation of new and existing Web-based features that run on millions of desktop and mobile devices all over the world, 24/7/365; specifically, you will work on the ongoing development of our engaging in-game shop experience.\n\n* Working with a small and focused team, you establish and implement practices and processes that guarantee a consistently high level of quality (linting, testing, deployment).\n\n* Automate all the things! We have made a lot of headway into automating major parts of build/deployment/monitoring/alerting/recovery, but we still need more. Our end goal is having fully autonomous systems, you – together with current DevOps engineers – will help us get there, faster!\n\n\n\n\nYour qualifications\n\n\n* You have a strong software engineering background and are experienced writing real, end-user facing production code with actual load and uptime requirements. Experience here means heavy involvement in designing the solution and an active role coding it.\n\n* You’re capable of provisioning an entire functioning system from start to finish, using configuration management tools\n\n* You bring demonstrated experience working with REST or GraphQL APIs\n\n* Several years of hands-on experience with frontend development, including popular frameworks like Vue.js and/or React (we use Vue), and, of course, HTML and CSS\n\n* Excellent understanding of and experience with async and Promises and other advanced JavaScript concepts\n\n* Experience developing and shipping plugins for frontend platforms (eg Trello PowerUps) is a plus\n\n* Experience creating and shipping plugin framework is a very strong plus\n\n\n\n\nWhy join us\n\n\n* You join a supportive team in a pragmatic, yet challenging environment, with short communication processes and flat hierarchies, perfect for growing your skills.\n\n* You will be working with multidisciplinary colleagues from the entire production lifecycle, developing and operating two very successful free-to-play games on mobile and web.\n\n* The team has many years of experience with live operations and a long-term strategy that keeps the players' excitement and engagement in mind.\n\n* Yet we are not set in our ways. We value employee contribution and you can have a real impact on the way we develop and operate our games.\n\n* While it's critical to keep our games running 24/7, we take work-life balance very seriously: We're proud to say that crunch-time is a very rare exception.\n\n\n\n\nDuring this difficult time of the Covid-19 pandemic, the safety of our employees and everyone else is of utmost importance to us which is why we switched to a solely virtual recruiting process for the time being. We are still hiring and happy to receive your application in English (cover letter, CV, references, degree)!\n\n#Stayhome #Stayhealthy\n\nYour contact person for this job offer is Juliane Voigtländer.\n\nGoodgame Studios is an equal opportunity employer. We encourage and support diversity and welcome all qualified applications. \n\n#Salary and compensation\n

**Our mission:**\nIn 2017, one billion immigrants worldwide sent over $600 billion home to family and friends, dwarfing foreign governmental aid. In the age of cheap, quick transfers through services like Paypal and Venmo, these people are trekking to stores to pay fees averaging over 7% for transfers that typically take 24 hours or more.\nWave's mission is to change that by making sending money anywhere in the world easy and affordable. Since 2014, our app has allowed Africans in the US, the UK, and Canada to send money instantly to mobile money wallets in Kenya, Uganda, & Tanzania, saving our users over 70% relative to Western Union and MoneyGram.\nWe recently launched remittances to Ghana, where we're growing quickly, and are looking to rapidly expand throughout Africa in the next year. That's where you come in...\n\n**How you'll help us achieve it:**\nDelighting our users is a core value at Wave. Excellent customer support is essential to this, but difficult to scale. We're looking for someone with experience running and scaling a customer service team so that we continue to wow our users as we expand to new markets.\n\n**In your first few months, you'll** \n* Be responsible for seeing that our users receive the best possible experience when they contact us via phone, text or email. We get over 15,000 calls and texts each month!.\n* Grow, train, and evaluate our English-speaking Support Team, made up of 17+ hourly employees. \n* Turn your team into a feedback mechanism to help us improve both our internal and external product at an ever faster rate.\n* Build a French-speaking support team sourced out of Senegal to service our upcoming France to Senegal corridor.\n* Work with our Head of User Experience and Risk Support Manager to set metrics-based performance goals for your team. You'll then craft processes and feedback loops to help your team achieve these.\n* Create and perpetuate a Support Team culture centered on empathy for and empowerment of our users and transparent and constructive collaboration within the team.\n* Coordinate with our Internal Tools team to ensure the Support Team has the resources it needs to serve our users.\n\n**Requirements** \n* *You have a high-level of proficiency in both English and French.*\n* *You've had at least three years experience leading and scaling customer service teams that offer support over the phone.*\n* You feed off interacting with people and getting the best out of them.\n* You possess an analytical mind and enjoy looking at data to both track trends and develop your team.\n* You're passionate about Wave's mission, and excited to do what needs to be done to reach our customer experience goals.\n\n**Our company**\n* We are a distributed group of six engineers and twelve operations team members spread across three continents who are deeply passionate about our mission.\n* Each quarter, we go on a five-day retreat together. In 2018, we've been to Vancouver, Lisbon and Austin.\n* We play in bands, teach dance classes, run Vipassana retreats, played semi-pro basketball, and built tools to help Doctors' Without Borders respond to the Ebola crisis. \n\nPlease mention the words **TRAY PERMIT BARREL** when applying to show you read the job post completely (#RMjE2LjczLjIxNi4yNTA=).
