\nMango Languages is looking for a knowledgeable Adult English Language Education Expert who can help inform content direction for an upcoming feature. In this part-time, remote contractor position, you will collaborate with a team of linguists and content developers to create texts that meet the needs of adult English language learners in the United States.\n\n\nAs the Adult English Language Education Expert, you will be expected to provide detailed counsel to the content development team so that they understand the needs of adult English language learners in the US. You will be asked to review a content plan for a series of passages designed to meet the needs of this population. They should review readings and topics for the class session(s) and be prepared.\n\n\nA substitute should follow the lesson plan unless permission to alter the plan is given by the administration.\n\n\nSubstitute Mentors engage students in meaningful discussion using prepared lesson materials. \n\n\nThey should be familiar with the Rules of Engagement, The Honor Code, and the basics of managing a classroom in either the physical environment or the online environment.\n\n\nAfter the class has ended, a substitute provides a brief but detailed report to the class mentor on what material was covered, what insights/issues were raised, and shares any concerns or suggestions for moving forward.\n\n\nSubstitute Mentors fill in for online Mentors during planned and unplanned absences from the virtual classroom. Substitute Mentors have a familiarity with The Williamsburg Curriculum and The 6 Mentor Practices and are aligned with Williamsburg Learningโs mission and educational philosophy. \n\n\n3) Grading\n\n\nBoth the Teacher Assistants and the Mentor(s) they support should be familiar with Trainual section titled โWorking with a TA.โ.\n\n\nIf Mentors choose to have a Teacher Assistant grade, the assistant is allotted a certain number of hours based on the student enrollments and this has to be set up by People Operations prior to the school year. \n\n\nGrade student work and provide timely (within 4 days), detailed, and quality feedback on assignments within Canvas Learning Management System (LMS)\n\n\nMonitor the weighting of assignments, checking for accuracy.\n\n\nMeet with your Mentor weekly (preferred) or report via email on student progress and issues so that the mentor is completely up to date on all student progress.\n\n\nMentors and Teacher Assistants who grade should remember the policy that โMentors are required to grade a minimum of four high-impact, meaningful assignments for every course each semester determined by the Program Leader. Reporting to the Chief Program Officer, the VP will ensure that our approach to product technology strategy is sound, coherent and mission-aligned and will manage a Product Management team to support these endeavors.\n\nWHAT YOU’LL DO\n\nDevelop and lead a clear vision and strategy for the future direction of ANet’s product technology\n\n In close coordination with the Product Steering Committee, set the product technology vision in support of our overall vision for our instructional content products (assessments, reports, resources, etc)\n\n Design and manage the research process and roadmap decisions that enable our technology to deliver strong instructional products that support teaching and learning in schools\n\n Set strategic direction of our technology including identifying when to use third-party vendors, integrate with other technologies and/or adopt new technical frameworks\n\n Seek out innovative solutions that deliver on needs of our product and service offerings\n\n Ensure back end and user technological coherence and efficiency within our many products\n\n Develop philosophy and approach to requirement prioritization and lead team to strategic conclusions\n\n Keep up to date on the shifts in the EdTech competitive landscape to ensure ANet is leveraging the best technologies possible to reach our mission\n\n\nManage a Product Management Team to:\n\n Collaborate with stakeholders and/or users to shape the strategy and execution of product technology\n\n Execute on the roadmap including facilitating conversations with stakeholders and delivering actionable requirements to engineers\n\n Ensure clear and agreed upon acceptance criteria and test cases are in place\n\n Decide, simplify and manage use of our internal tools for information collection, sharing and progress monitoring relative to product building\n\n Decide the sequence to build technology that maximizes resources and outcomes\n\n Actively monitor progress and elevate opportunities and risks for broader decision making\n\n Ensure we have coherent and accurate internal documentation of project plan with dependencies, roadmap, features and backlog\n\n Manage process of backlog grooming\n\n In collaboration with engineering leadership, recommend allocation of engineering resources given knowledge of priorities, capacity and requirements\n\n Obsess over great user experience and ensure technology is intuitive and impactful for students, teachers and leaders\n\n Support communication, training and marketing of our products to network teams and users\n\n\nBuild, develop, and retain a high-performing and highly engaged team\n\n Manage a skilled and diverse team with a positive, inclusive culture that brings out each team member’s strengths and that aligns to ANet’s mission and core values\n\n Develop team members to continuously improve by providing high impact feedback and coaching; manage towards excellence in their roles while being committed to their long-term development\n\n Ensure that cross-team communication, structures and coordination are smooth, efficient and values aligned\n\n Manage a team budget and resource allocation to balance limited resources with maximum impact\n\nWHO YOU ARE AND WHAT YOU BRING\n\nIn order to be successful in this role, candidates must demonstrate the following:\n\n You have previously designed and led product strategy within the education or EdTech spaces, ideally for teacher- or leader-facing products, and managed teams around product management and product development\n\n Your exceptional judgment and strategic thinking, particularly around resource tradeoffs, has helped you define products, design product roadmaps and deliver organizational value through product development in the past\n\n You are an exceptional communicator who can translate technology, product, and service needs to business owners and technologists (e.g. “you speak both languages”)\n\n You have a proven track record of building and managing great teams with success in developing a strategic vision and leading your team towards outcomes while fostering a positive, inclusive team culture\n\n You have been the lead on complex, cross-functional, and collaborative projects with aggressive timelines\n\n You are knowledgeable about online assessment creation and delivery technology, platforms, and best practices\n\n You understand software development life-cycles and best practices and bring experience leveraging usage data to inform UI design and prioritization and experience with Agile Product Management\n\n You are motivated by working in an environment where we live out our core values daily.
