MorphMarket is the world's biggest marketplace for exotic animals (snakes, lizards, etc.) with over a million users. We're growing fast and branching into aquatics amongst other areas.
**Culture:**
We run a calm, zero politics, zero finger-pointing operation where the focus is on high-quality technical work, on improving as engineers, and on teamwork (in the sense of solving hard problems by communicating and sharing knowledge).
**Location**:
We're based in the US but much of our team is based in the EU so working times where you overlap for approx half the day in the US is fine.
**Technologies**:
You'll need BOTH React Native and Django/Python skills to fill this role. If you don't have significant experience in either of these areas, please do not apply. We specifically need someone who can solve problems that require deep knowledge of both technologies and previous hires missing either of these two weren't able to crack our technical problems.
Knowledge of WebViews is a huge plus.
Other good skills to have
- Django Rest Framework - Swift - Expo - App release processes and navigating app store challenges - Shell scripting - Kotlin - Heroku - SQL speed optimization - React.js - HTTP caching - Queue systems - AWS - Multi-threaded code - Long-form technical communication
**Commitment**
We're looking for 32 hours a week or more, long term. Contractual basis.

### Key details\n**Pay**: ยฃ400-600 per day\n\n**Working pattern**: The contract can be made for 3 or 4 days per week, depending on your preference\n\n**Start date**: Flexible, either now or in January, depending on your availability\n\n**Duration**: Six to twelve months freelance contract\n\n**Location**: Remote in GMT +/- 3 (Offices in London and Berlin)\n\n### About us\nChangeLab is a worker-owned, democratically-run co-op building ambitious tech for NGOs, progressive political parties and campaigning organisations worldwide. We work with organisations like the British Labour Party, Unite the Union, 38 Degrees and Change.org to help them win progressive change. A few of the things weโve done so far: \n- Helped elect the first ever BAME leader of any political party in the UK, Anas Sarwar, Leader of the Scottish Labour Party with our collaborative calling software\n- Helped the National Education Union survey safety precautions in schools during the Coronavirus pandemic, allowing the union to force the government to protect teachers and landing our tool on the frontpage of the BBC, Evening Standard, and more \n- Helped enable tens of virtual conferences during the Coronavirus pandemic for trade unions and NGOs with over 1,300 participants debating and voting simultaneously\n\nWeโre now moving from bespoke software development to building out impactful SaaS products that help progressive campaigns win. Our main fields of work now are:\n- Ringround, enabling volunteers to collaboratively call and text voters and supporters, already used by Keir Starmerโs campaign to become Labour leader, Freedom from Torture & more. \n- Democracy, a live video conferencing & voting platform, used by many UK trade unions to enable their annual conferences capable of supporting up to 3,000 delegates in real-time video communication, as well as offering voting and breakout sessions\n- Pinpoint, a tool enabling hundreds of personalised Facebook ad creatives to be targeted to different regions and/or custom segments, to increase conversions and impact\n- ShareHarder. A tool to improve organic social growth, allowing users to optimise the images and text that are displayed on Facebook when a user shares their website.\n\n**Learn more on our [website](https://changelab.io) (https://changelab.io) and [GitHub](https://github.com/changelab-hq) (https://github.com/changelab-hq).**\n\n### Who weโre looking for\nWeโre looking for a freelance senior developer with Ruby on Rails and React experience who is available for six to twelve months. Weโre looking for someone who we can build a long-term working relationship with, who can build a deep familiarity with our products and codebases. \n\nYou will be working across all of our core products at different stages. Our primary development scheduled for the immediate future is focused on the Ringround product, but there is ongoing development happening on each of the products. We are a small team, and are looking for someone flexible, who enjoys getting to grips with a variety of codebases and taking steps to actively improve them.\n\nSince weโre a worker-owned co-op, if we all enjoy working together, there is a path after a year to becoming a full partner in the business with an equal ownership stake as the rest of us, along with the responsibility and benefits that provides. \n\nHowever, itโs not mandatory - if youโd rather keep freelancing, then that wonโt affect your application or how we work together at all. \n\n### Youโll enjoy this role if:\n- You want to use your technical skills to make real progressive change\n- You enjoy working in a small team and seeing the impact of your work day-by-day\n- You enjoy solving technical problems \n- You like to prototype and experiment with new technology\n- Youโre quick on your feet and experienced applying a range of approaches to debugging issues that arise\n- Youโre pragmatic about when applying โbest practicesโ will pay off versus when itโs just box ticking\n- Youโre motivated by seeing your code running in production and having a positive political impact\n\n### Our technology stack\nWe work primarily in Ruby on Rails for back-end and React for front-end. Most of our applications have a heavy real-time component or are complete SPAs, so we use a lot of websocket communication backed by Pusher, Anycable and Redis. We have been actively working on a library, called Jason, which allows us to subscribe the frontend to updates from any Rails model as soon as it is edited, with almost no boilerplate code required.\n\nWe also enjoy working with telephony and video technologies - Ringround integrates heavily with many aspects of Twilioโs infrastructure and Democracy uses the video API platform Vonage.\n\nGenerally we keep deployment as simple as possible, relying on Heroku and AWS services such as RDS and S3, so DevOps requirements are fairly light. \n\n### Essential skills and experience\n- 3+ years professional full-stack web development experience\n- Ruby on Rails\n- React, using the new Hooks API\n- Rspec\n\n### Nice to have skills and experience\n*Note: We donโt expect any applicant to have all of these - so donโt be put off applying if you donโt!*\n- Redux (or similar state management libraries)\n- Previous experience building real-time apps using WebSockets\n- Browser testing using Cypress, Selenium or similar\n- Javascript testing using Jest\n- Working knowledge of key AWS services\n- SQL for analytics\n- App monitoring and performance analysis using NewRelic\n- Machine learning experience with tabular data using libraries like XgBoost or LightGBM\n- Twilio\n- Vonage\n \n\nPlease mention the word **RECTIFICATION** when applying to show you read the job post completely (#RMjE2LjczLjIxNi4xODA=). This job post is closed and the position is probably filled. Please do not apply. Work for Steadily and want to re-open this job? Use the edit link in the email when you posted the job!
Steadily is a Series A insurtech startup for landlords.ย We've grown from 5 to 30 people over the last year to match demand, and the technical/product challenges have gotten really interesting. We're hiring a senior engineer with experience building web apps and service oriented architecture to help us build the core of our stack.ย ย \n\nAt Steadily, our purpose is to give landlords fast, affordable insurance and amazing customer service so theyโre confident theyโll have the coverage they need on a rainy day. Because of our technology and service, our customers love being insured by us, even when they have a claim.ย \n\n**Why join us**\n\n* You'll be in good company. Not to toot our own horn too much, but the founders are solid engineers. Our VP of Engineering helped grow a company from 15 people to more than 2,000 software engineers. The President has gone through YC twice and has two previous exits.\n* We pay top of market with competitive base salaries and equity\n* Youโll be hands-on with everything, from coding in python to influencing product roadmaps\n* We're growing fast and are well-funded (Series A, $30M)\n\n**What you'll build**\n\n* Rating engines for calculating how much an insurance policy should cost\n* Combine property intelligence for external sources to estimate how likely a property is to flood, catch on fire, or get vandalized\n* A mobile experience for people to buy insurance that is so simple/intuitive that your least-tech savvy relative with a flip-phone could use it without help e.g. pass the Mom Test\n* Claim app that uses phone camera and sensors to document the damage smartly\n\n**Ideal background**\n\n* Experienced: This isn't your first rodeo. There's no specific minimum number of years requirement, but we expect you to be able to dive into a complex codebase without too much spin-up. Past experience as a team lead is definitely a plus.\n* Builder: You like the product-side of engineering and have thoughtful opinions on what the user experience should be. You're not the type of engineer who wants a fully-fleshed out spec thrown over the wall for you to code.\n* Pragmatic: Let's say you have a tradeoff to make: Option A is to ship something fast using an off-the-shelf API on AWS; you won't learn that much and it only solves 80% of the problem, but it'll only take a few days. Option B is to invest about two weeks building a new library and internally-hosted service that perfectly solves the problem; as a bonus you can share it on Github and give a presentation about it at PyCon. If you choose Option A 10/10 then you'll be at home here.\n* Specific languages: We don't really care if you've worked in our stack before as long as you're happy to learn it. If you're sharp enough to be on this team, you're sharp enough to learn any language or framework quickly.\n\n**Our stack**\n\n* Python 3\n* Django\n* Postgres\n* Heroku (with full CI pipeline)\n* Redis / Celery\n* Kafka\n\n**Compensation**\n\n* At least $150,000/year\n* We believe in paying top-of-market to attract the best person for each role.\n* However, the compensation package is usually the second reason people choose to join a startup. The primary reason is they want to experience the growth that comes from pouring your heart and soul into building something that people love. Thatโs what we do.\n\n**Things to consider**\n\nThis won't be easy. We work extremely hard to sustain our execution velocity and have sky-high expectations of each other. This fact is itself a huge reward: getting to work with other individuals as stellar as you.\n\n**Benefits**\n\n* Paid Time Off\n* Health Insurance\n* 401k / HSA / FSA\n\n**Weโre excited to meet you!** \n\nPlease mention the words **CLARIFY MUTUAL SKATE** when applying to show you read the job post completely (#RMjE2LjczLjIxNi4xODA=). # Description\nWe're looking for an experienced Recruiter/Head of People to help us build an amazing team. If you were to join [Cogsy](https://cogsy.com/) today, you'd have the chance to join a fully funded startup at an early stage.\n\n**You're likely a good fit for this position if you:**\n* [Read these values](https://cogsy.com/about/) and they resonate with you.\n* Are a true product builder and can make progress both independently and within a team.\n* Have hands-on experience handling a good amount of data and scaling web services.\n* Take action and pay attention to detail.\n* Have superior communication skills.\n* Are passionate about the latest dev trends, but also confident on using mature and stable technologies.\n* Are self-motivated and feel comfortable working effectively in a 100% remote environment.\n# Requirements\n**What you'll do:**\nYou will be responsible for scaling Cogsyโs code from tens to thousands of customers. We trust you to solve challenges the way you feel is best. Count on the rest of the team to support you when you need, but never micromanage you.\n* **Diverse team:** Youโll be working with a diverse team from a range of countries and backgrounds. Making Cogsy an inclusive workplace is a top priority.\n* **Paid for retreats:** Once global travel is open again, we'll do week-long team retreats in fun locations.\n* **Flexible holiday policy:** Take time off whenever you need to recharge or attend to other matters. Weโll cover whatever helps you develop as an individual and become the best you.\n* **We are a life- and family-first company** that seeks meaningful experiences outside of work and we endeavor to help our customers do the same.\n\n**Does this sound like you?** Want to be part of a self-motivated, empathetic, nimble team working to build something big? At [Podia](https://www.podia.com), weโre building the best platform on the planet for creators to sell online courses, digital downloads, webinars, and memberships.\nWeโre a fully-remote company, we've been around for a few years, have helped creators earn millions, and weโre growing fastโฆ\nโฆ*really* fast.\nThatโs where you come in ๐\nWeโre looking for **a full-stack Rails developer** to help us continue building modern frontend user experiences, while still sticking to The Rails Way as closely as possible, and scaling the platform for tens-of-thousands of creators and millions of customers.\n## Whatโs this job all about?\nWhile our other metrics are all "up and to the right!" ๐ , we take a careful, considered approach to hiring. We're a small development team of eight (six men, two women), in a company of 24, and we typically only hire twice a year.\nEvery person on the dev team has an outsized impact on the productโeach feature is often the product of just one or two developers working together with a designerโand you can be one of them.\nOne week you might be finishing off the redesign of a feature for our creators, the next you might be optimizing a SQL query to keep our storefronts running smoothly. We plan about three months in advance, but we pivot rapidly so you shouldn't expect those plans to be set in stone.\nEvery developer on the team works on:\n- Shipping new features to help our creators' businesses thrive\n- Polishing our existing features to improve our users' experience\n- Writing tests and fixing bugs in our code\n- Communicating their progress in regular Basecamp updates\n- Reviewing pull requests from other team members\n- Helping out our support team with customer issues during a regular week-long rotation\n- Paying down technical debt to keeping the codebase shiny\n- Deploying code to production, verifying it works as you expected, and taking a 24-hour on-call shift for when the worst happens (rarely! ๐ค)\nYou can expect to be working with:\n- Ruby on Rails 6.1\n- PostgreSQL\n- Stimulus, StimulusReflex, CableReady, and React (in that order of most to least often)\n- Webpacker, Bootstrap, ViewComponent, ES6, and yarn to manage our UI code.\n- Sidekiq for background processing, including fun features like periodic jobs and batches\n- Heroku for everything\n- We also maintain integrations with many third-party APIs (PayPal, Stripe, Zapier and Drip, just to name a few)\n- A codebase with 1:1.3 code-to-test ratio, with almost 10K examples, that runs on our CI system in four minutes\nYou probably donโt know all these technologies inside out, and thatโs okay! This is not a laundry list of requirements.\nIf youโre curious, you can read about [Podiaโs engineering culture](https://jamie.ideasasylum.com/2020/07/17/podia-engineering-culture/) and [our current toolbox](https://jamie.ideasasylum.com/2021/01/01/tools-of-podia-2020-edition/) on our CTOโs blog.\n## Does this sound like you?\nIf youโre the developer weโre looking for, youโll already be familiar and confident with Rails, with two to three years experience, and weโll help you level-up those skills, learn new technologies like StimulusReflex and ViewComponent, and practice them on a complex web application with plenty of new challenges.\nYou will be based in [UTC](https://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/timezone/utc) to [UTC+8](https://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/timezone/utc8) timezones to ensure a reasonable overlap with our current product team in Ireland, the US, Canada, and South America.\n"Full-stack" is an over-used term so letโs put it this way: Rails is our home turf and you'll feel comfortable and productive writing Ruby, building new feature in Rails, writing views in ERB, and using ActiveRecord. In addition, you'll probably have a few special areas of expertise or interest. Perhaps you enjoy playing with AWS infrastructure and using Terraform; perhaps you enjoy refactoring and using design patterns to make cleaner software; or you have a flair for user experience design and an eye for detail.\nHere's some skill gaps we have on the team which we'd like to fill in the short-term:\n- Modern JavaScript knowledge. Do you enjoy tweaking Webpack configuration, reducing JavaScript dependencies, and optimizing build pipelines? We don't write much JavaScript but, when we do, we want it to be modern and efficient.\n- CSS expert. Do you see a design and instantly understand which CSS attributes are required? Can you tweak Bootstrap variables to match our brand? Do you make designers happy with your pixel-perfect implementations?\n- Experience scaling Rails. Have you been through the easy stages of scaling a Rails app, and earned some hard-fought wins against the next few boss levels? When SELECT count(*) FROM customers; is too slow, you have several tried-and-tested strategies for speeding it up.\nThese are not definitive so don't exclude yourself if you don't fit one of these descriptions. We have many more needs and we'll find roles for any exceptional candidate.\n**Some other things you should be comfortable with:**\n- Communicating your progress clearly in Slack or Basecamp and highlighting blockers and risks early. Communication is a core competency โ๏ธ\n- Collaborate with other team members either synchronously during an online pairing session (you can initially expect to be pairing for at least half your time) or asynchronously via pull requests ๐\n- Working individually on solo projects without disappearing down a rabbit hole for days ๐ณ\n- Learning quickly, and developing confidentlyโbecause nothing is โsomeone elseโs jobโ and there's always something new to learn ๐ฆ\n- Lending a hand to your teammates (and customers) when the need arises. Weโre tightly knit and supporting each other is a huge priority ๐ค\n- Multiple competing (and sometimes shifting) priorities ๐ \n- Staying calm under pressure. You remain cool even when Rollbar errors are pouring into Slack, background jobs clog up the Sidekiq queue, and the app grinds to a halt ๐\n- Working remotely. Our team is spread across North America, South America, and Western Europe, and our headquarters is Slack ๐\n## Why work at Podia?\n- Ultimate flexibility. We try to have some overlap time every day, but outside of that work whenever & wherever you work best ๐บ๏ธ\n- Extreme autonomy. No micro-managing here. Youโll be given high-level direction and then left to solve it the way you feel is best. ๐\n- That said, the rest of the team is always ready to lend a handโor even an ear if you just need to rubber duck some ideas ๐ก\n- You get to work with a small, highly-talented team that has builtโand continues to buildโour product with care. Weโre not one of those โhire all the devs!โ organizations that tries to grow too quickly ๐จ\n- Whether itโs fixes, small tweaks, or substantial features, we deploy often. Thereโs zero red tape to slow you down ๐\n- Youโll be working with a diverse team from a range of countries and backgrounds. We work hard to make Podia an inclusive workplace for everyone ๐\n- We have a rapidly growing base of passionate customers. Your work will be seen and appreciated by many people โค๏ธ\n- Competitive compensation. We want to hire the best people, and weโre ready to pay for them. We use a standardized salary scale set at the 90th percentile of US salaries for each roleโregardless of where you are in the world ๐ฐ\n- Great benefits including three weeks paid vacation (plus another week during the December holidays), sabbaticals every three years, professional development credit, paid family leave, a new laptop every three years, and more โบ๏ธ\n- (Paid for) annual retreats to spend time with the team and have fun together (or a still-pretty-great virtual retreat when thereโs a global pandemic) โ๏ธ \n\nPlease mention the words **VINTAGE PALACE SLOT** when applying to show you read the job post completely (#RMjE2LjczLjIxNi4xODA=). ## Senior Full-stack Developer at Krit\nKrit is a growing digital agency that partners with Cyber Security startups to design and build innovative new products.\n\nWe typically work with 8-12 clients at any time on projects like:\n * Designing a web app to visualize the background noise of the internet and uncover the next wave of cyber attacks.\n * Creating software to help Fortune 500 companies visualize opportunities for attack within their networks and improve their security.\n * Building a dashboard used by security teams at city governments and utilities to detect abnormal web traffic.\n\nOur clientsโ products have been used by brands like Dropbox, Lyft, Microsoft, Nike, Yale University, and more.\n\nLast year, we made $700,000 in revenue as a company and are on track to increase that this year. Weโre a bootstrapped, transparent company and share our profits with our team. ๐\n\n**Note: Because some of our clients work with government agencies, this role is only open to US citizens.**\n\n## Weโre looking for a generalist to lead projects\nWe're looking for an experienced developer to help take the lead on multiple projects. We typically use Django, Postgres and Heroku on the back-end and Vue or React Native with Tailwind on the front-end. But we care more about your talent and willingness to learn than experience with a particular framework.\n\nWhile we donโt have any requirements for years of experience, this is a senior role so it wonโt be a good fit for someone just getting started in the industry. We hope to open up more junior roles later in 2021. \n\n**Excellent communication skills**\n\nThe best developers are great communicators and teammates, not just great programmers. In this position, youโll take on the role of project lead. This means youโll communicate directly with the client, project manager and other team members to drive the direction of the project.\n\n**Ability to balance trade-offs**\n\nAt Krit, youโll solve challenging technical problems, but youโll also help clients to build entirely new businesses. We look for people who can balance trade offs and are excited by the impact on the business as much as the technology. \n\n**You care about testing and documentation**\n\nWe want our clients to be successful long term, so we build everything to be able to hand it off at any point. This means good test coverage, continuous integration, clean documentation and lots of comments. It has the added bonus of making it easier for new team members to get up to speed quickly on projects!\n\n## What it's like to be a Kritter\nYouโll be working with clients and the rest of our production team to architect and build new products, as well as to build out new features on existing products. Youโll regularly contribute to documentation and test coverage, and review PRs. Youโll also help mentor more junior team members, and provide guidance and assistance when they get stuck. This is an opportunity to influence the growth of our team, helping to define processes and make the rest of the team better. \n\n**Your responsibilities will include:**\n* Architecting new greenfield projects\n* Building new features for and optimizing existing products\n* Contributing to documentation and test coverage\n* Reviewing PRs and offering constructive feedback\n* Helping other team members troubleshoot bugs\n* Contributing to both the frontend and backend depending on the project\n* Helping define and document new development processes\n\n**In this role, you *wonโt* be responsible for:**\n* Managing other developers - while youโll be expected to help mentor and collaborate this is not a management role\n* Project management\n\n**Youโll be a human, not a number**\n\nWhile weโre not perfect, we are passionate about creating a great place to work. Weโre striving to build a culture thatโs respectful, supportive, and challenging. You wonโt just be a number here, youโll have a measurable impact on the direction of the business. \n\n**Youโll be a part of an inclusive, transparent company**\n\nOne of our goals is to build a more diverse company. To us, this means diversity of race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, ethnicity, age, disability, and national origin. We strongly believe in building an inclusive workplace where everyone feels safe and invited. We are also a fully transparent company. We share our finances, salaries, pipeline and more.\n\n**Youโll be part of an engaged team**\n\nEvery day at 4:00 pm EST we have a standing meeting where we check in and make sure we're staying on track. Each month we have a team meeting where we look at project milestones, our finances, marketing plans, and the pipeline. Once a month you'll also have a one-to-one meeting with Austin (our Creative Director) where you'll look at your goals, progress, and be encouraged to give us feedback.\n\n## All roles at Krit come with:\n**๐ธCompetitive salary + profit sharing**\nThis will be a salaried position paid a starting salary of $92,000 per year with 5% annual raises. All full time team members also participate in our yearly profit sharing program and receive yearly raises. \n\nOur salaries and raise process are completely transparent, you can see our Compensation Model here. For this position we are looking for a Level 4 Developer. \n\n**๐ฉโโ๏ธBenefits**\nWe offer competitive healthcare plans, as well as dental and vision insurance and 401k matching up to 4% (starting in 2021). \n\n**๐Vacation days**\nAll Krit employees get 15 vacation days (effective immediately) as well as 10 company holidays. Sick days donโt count as vacation, if youโre sick donโt make it worse with work. \n\n**๐Remote**\nWhile we have a home base in Charleston, SC most of our team is remote. We have team members in Charlottesville, Chattanooga, Durham, Austin, and Washington DC. \n\n**Note: Because some of our clients work with government agencies, this role is only open to US citizens.**\n\n**๐ฐFlexible hours**\nEveryone is different. As long as you can be available for team meetings and are able to communicate effectively with the team, work when you work best. We do expect you to average about 6 billable hours per day.\n\n**๐ปEquipment budget**\nEvery new employee gets $2,500 to spend on equipment, so you can pick whatever works best for you.\n\n**โ๏ธCo-working/Coffee budget (Remote)**\nWe want you to have the space you need to do your best work. Weโll give you up to $200 per month to put towards a co-working space. Or if you prefer going to a coffee shop a few times a week then weโll cover the coffee tab.\n\n**๐ผPaid family leave**\nWe offer a family leave plan of up to 4 weeks paid vacation and 4 weeks unpaid regardless of your gender.\n\n**๐Professional development time**\nTwo Fridays every month we spend the second half of the day on professional development time. This can include taking courses, building sample projects to try out new tools, contributing to the company blog or playbook, and more.\n\nWeโll also cover the cost of books, courses and provide time for conferences on a case by case basis. \n \n\nPlease mention the words **SOMEONE KISS SALON** when applying to show you read the job post completely (#RMjE2LjczLjIxNi4xODA=). Are you passionate about building tools that have an immediate impact on your customers? \n\nDo you have a thirst for breaking down complex, interesting initiatives into scalable code?\n\nDo you thrive when you're contributing to a high-performing, humble team?\n\nDo you love walking home from work knowing that you empowered other developers, delivered value to your customers, and got to work on some gnarly code โ all in the same day?\n\nAmazing, then youโre the type of person weโre looking for!\n\nAt Jungle Scout, we are on a mission to empower entrepreneurs to be successful Amazon sellers. We work hard, keep it real and do it all for our customers by providing industry-leading tools, education and content.\n\nWeโre growing and we are looking to add a Senior Software Engineer to our fast-paced and customer-oriented Engineering team. This will be a remote position preferably in Poland but we are open to hiring the right talent remote anywhere in Eastern Europe. \n\nInterested in learning more? Letโs get into the details: \n\n**What you will be doing:**\n* Architect and build. First and foremost, you will be building and architecting new web applications and microservices that are required, as well as creating new features on our existing applications.\n* Make recommendations. You will play an active role in the way we make decisions around technologies to be used for new applications and improvements on existing applications\n* Scale, maintain, and improve. As we continue to grow, youโll anticipate challenges before they happen by maintaining existing codebases and system infrastructures, as well as enhancing the development, staging and production environments of our applications. \n* Participate and contribute. Youโll have an active hand in code reviews, as well as in project planning and management. Youโll also provide input for ongoing improvement of engineering practices and procedures. \n* Passionate mentor. We are firm believers in knowledge sharing and supporting team development. You will coach junior and intermediate developers on programming and infrastructure best practices. \n \nIf you are thinking โheck yeah!โ, please read onโฆ.\n \n**Who you are:**\n* Done this before. We believe experience is best measured in results and intensity (not years), but you need to have been in this software development game a while. You also need to have experience with some subset of our primary tech stack: Ruby on Rails, Node, React (or other Javascript frameworks), Postgres, Redis. Weโre thinking more than five years.\n* Master classer. Weโre looking for someone who crushes it when it comes to deploying and managing staging and production environments on Heroku and AWS. \n* Heavy toolbelt. You know your way around working with both SQL and NoSQL databases (Postgres, Elasticsearch, DynamoDB, MongoDB, Cassandra, etc.). Youโve also been around the Javascript block and worked in depth with React and Redux or a similar framework. You understand how they work in detail, and can show your team a thing or two.\n* AWS Cloud Guru: 4+ years experience working with some subset of AWS services, such as: EC2, RDS, DynamoDB, Elasticsearch, ElasticBeanstalk, Lambda, Cloudwatch, SQS, Kinesis and SNS\n* Fluent in English. Youโre ready to dive in and communicate easily with our North American teams.\n* Remote-friendly. Youโre comfortable working with a remote team, and familiar with the tools and technologies to make magic happen without the facetime. \n\n**Who we are: **\nJungle Scout is the leading all-in-one tool for selling on Amazon, with the mission of providing powerful data and insights to help entrepreneurs and brands grow successful Amazon businesses. \n\nThe Jungle Scout team is a group of smart, motivated, and fun-loving professionals working hard to help our customers achieve success. We have 145+ team members around the world, including in our headquarters in Austin, TX, and offices in Vancouver, BC and Shenzhen, China.\n \n\nPlease mention the words **CAMP LEMON PLATE** when applying to show you read the job post completely (#RMjE2LjczLjIxNi4xODA=). **We're a startup turned app development shop. Our small, growing team partners with non-technical founders to design and build innovative new products.**\n\nWe're not out to build the next Snapchat. Instead, we create beautiful, niche software tools for B2B startup founders that can grow into profitable companies.\n\nWe work on a handful of new projects every year across industries like legal tech, higher education, cyber security and logistics. Our clientsโ products have been used by brands like Dropbox, Lyft, Microsoft, Nike, Yale University and more.\n\nLast year, we made $700,000 in revenue as a company and are on track to cross $1 million this year. Weโre a profitable, bootstrapped company and share our profits with our team. But we try not to take ourselves too seriously. ๐\n\n**Talented back-end developer**\nWe're looking for a talented back-end developer based in the US or Canada to help take the lead on new projects. We use Django, Postgres and Heroku on most projects but we care more about your talent and willingness to learn than experience with a particular framework.\n\n**Willingness to help out with the front-end**\nBecause we're a small team working on a wide variety of projects, youโll have to be comfortable jumping around and learning new skills. You don't have to be a unicorn, but you do need to be willing to step in and help out on the front-end. We typically work with Vue, React and React Native on the front-end.\n\n**Excellent communication skills**\nThe best developers are great communicators and teammates, not just great programmers. In this position, youโll eventually take on the role of project lead. This means youโll communicate directly with the client to help them make product decisions and manage the project.\n\n**Ability to balance trade-offs**\nAt Krit, youโll solve challenging technical problems, but youโll also help clients to build entirely new businesses. We look for people who can balance trade offs and are excited by the impact on the business as much as the technology.\n\n**You care about testing and documentation**\nWe want our clients to be successful long term, so we build everything to be able to hand it off at any point. This means good test coverage, continuous integration, clean documentation and lots of comments. It has the added bonus of making it easier for new team members to get up to speed quickly on projects! \n\nPlease mention the words **USAGE GROW SUCCESS** when applying to show you read the job post completely (#RMjE2LjczLjIxNi4xODA=). **About Us**\n\nRoger was founded to make day-to-day financial operations like bill pay, expense management, compliance and bookkeeping as worry-free as possible for business owners, finance teams, accountants and bookkeepers. Roger works as an automated layer on top of a company's accounting software, saving businesses and accountants hours of work every day. We're proud of the product that we've built so far, and our global customer base agree that we're making something complex and tedious simple and maybe even fun.\nWe are backed by some of the best investors in the financial technology space, and most recently raised $7.5m from QED, Silicon Valley Bank and others. Joining Roger is a unique opportunity to join a team that's still small enough to be nimble but has great financial backing and cares about building an excellent product experience and a great team. We hire for attitude and not credentials. Please apply regardless of your educational background.\n\n\n**The Opportunity**\n\nWe are looking for a Software Engineer to run our integration efforts with our services. Our product integrates with a number of different services, such as accounting platforms like QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, as well as collaboration tools like Slack, Box and Dropbox. Allowing our customers to set up custom workflows that fit their exact needs is a core part of our product experience. We have an existing integration framework and a robust API in place, but we are looking to add a new team member to own the integration work end-to-end. This includes building new, as well as maintaining and improving the existing ones - all to ensure a stellar user experience.\nYou'll be working collaboratively with the rest of the engineering team as well as with the product team to drive the implementation and release of new integrations. You'll be familiar with all parts of our stack from end to end, and will drive positive change to Roger's engineering culture, processes and technology.\nWe see this role as a unique chance to own an important piece of the Roger product, see it grow, and flourish very quickly.\n\n**The Team**\n\nThe engineering team is characterized by a high degree of support internally. We help each other out and pitch in when problems arise as well as give each other feedback to grow. Our top priority is to build the world's best financial automation platforms, while keeping our users safe and compliant. Scalability, reliability and robustness are keywords we live by but we also get excited about building out feature MVPs quickly to keep our innovative reputation with customers and partners alive and well at all times.\n\n**The Stack**\n\nRoger's backend is built on .NET with C#. We love the simplicity, speed and structure of C#, combined with the built-in security and robustness it offers developers. On the front-end we work in React and React Native, enabling us to build reliable web experiences that can handle high usage volumes.\nAdditionally, we make extensive use of Lamda (integrations only), AWS, Git, Bugsnag, Heroku and other great tools to keep our development processes running smoothly.\n\n**Our Values**\n\nWe're a global company with offices in Copenhagen and San Francisco. Our values are heavily influenced by our Scandinavian roots (both founders are from Denmark), and count humility, humor and inclusiveness. We strive to create a culture where anyone feels part of the family, and we place a great amount of value in hiring for attitude rather than resumes. We support flexibility in everyone's lives, and working at Roger can be easily combined with babies, toddlers and teenagers. We have two primary office locations but have a remote culture that we put a lot of effort into as we believe great talent can be found anywhere. As a remote worker you can be sure to feel like you are as much part of the team as those who come to an office every day. About every 6 months we all get together in person. Our last trips took us to Greece and Spain. Everyone on the team shares a passion for creating the best possible product and user experience, and that is something we value in future team members as well.\n\n**The Roger Story**\n\nRoger's founders started the company after exiting their first startup to Cisco Systems. Having experienced all the frustrations with daily financial operations when starting previous ventures, the first gist of an idea for Roger was born in 2016. Since then, international investors from both Europe and the US have supported the growth of the team and the customer base, and the product is now used and loved by thousands of customers worldwide.\nRoger is an equal opportunity employer. We strive to maintain and develop our inclusive work environment and welcome members of all backgrounds and perspectives.\n \n\n# Requirements\n* Excited to work on building the foundations of Roger's integrations ecosystem\n* Comfortable working with external partners and managing your projects from A-Z\n* Experience in working with object-oriented programming\n* Comfortable working with .NET and C#\n* Experience working with relational\non-relational, Aurora\MySql and Dynamodb\n* Experience with REST APIs\n\n**Salary according to qualifications and experience.** \n\nPlease mention the words **RAIN INDUSTRY ANIMAL** when applying to show you read the job post completely (#RMjE2LjczLjIxNi4xODA=).
