\nThe Company Youll Join\nAt Extracker we make the construction industry more efficient by using technology to better communicate project costs between companies.\nEvery day thousands of pounds of paper and hundreds of personnel hours are consumed to record and communicate extra work completed on construction job sites around the world.\nThese pieces of paper can take days or weeks to reach the office and from there need to be scanned, manually transcribed, and tediously recorded into spreadsheets, that is, if they arent lost or damaged first.\nIn an industry with constant change and thin margins, this results in a massive loss of valuable time and money for hard working contractors.\nExtracker creates tools to help contractors dramatically increase the organization and efficiency of this system, called change order communication, by intelligently digitizing this age-old paper process. This leads to an increase in profits, more successful contractor to customer relationships, more transparency into a projects true cost, and less wasted paper!\nOur offices are currently located in the Lafayette, CA with team members working in San Francisco, Truckee, and San Ramon, California and we are also open to remote candidates.\nThe Opportunity\nJust as TurboTax did for tax documents and Expensify did for receipts and expense reports, Extracker is doing for change order communication and log management by building first-of-its-kind, category defining software that is revolutionizing the commercial construction industry.\nAs an early senior leading member of the team you will have an exceptional level of impact on the development and iteration of our product as well as the workplace culture and team itself.\nThis is your chance to join a team that is bringing game-changing, modern web tools and dynamic financial analysis systems to a stagnant, static, pen and paper part of the commercial construction industry.\nThe Role\n\nWe are looking for an experienced Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer to join our web app development team. You will work with upper management to define software requirements and take the lead on operational and technical projects. You should have excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. You should also have experience mentoring other engineers.\nThe Problems Youll Solve:\nAs a full-stack developer at Extracker, you will play a critical role in making sure our front-end web apps and back-end services are serving the needs of users in the commercial construction space. Quick and constant communication in this space is vital to ensure work does not stop and costs are maintained. Extracker is a mission critical piece of a contractor's workflow. Our applications must be reliable, performant, and usable -- this is where you come in.\n\n\n * Work closely with a small team of engineers\n * Build and maintain both back-end and front-end applications\n * How you can invent new capabilities to give our customers dynamic analysis and insights into previously siloed and static logs, reports, and data.\n * Scaling a system to support tens of thousands of contractors and millions of events.\n * Coming up with creative solutions for caching and asset management.\n * Ensuring the timely delivery of files and data sent by users.\n * Structuring data to be used efficiently by users and for their business intelligence needs.\n * How to combine rapid release of features with a commitment to our uptime SLAs and functionality of our platform.\n * Collaborate with the team to refactor, upgrade, and improve applications where necessary \n * How to effectively and consistently estimate your work; be responsible for getting clarification when needed and communicate timing\n * How Extracker, can continue to be a leading category defining platform, and can establish ourselves technologically as the industry gold standard for digital Time and Material Tag documents and Change Order Request communications.\n \n\n\nBenefits\n\n * Ample opportunities to advance your role and responsibilities in a rapidly growing organization\n * The ability to influence the culture of your workplace, help build the engineering org and be a voice in refining our development and product processes\n * The ability to make immediate impact with a product that already has an established product market fit and a healthy and growing user base\n * First hand exposure to the new emerging sector at the intersection of fin-tech and construction technology\n * Opportunity for significant product ownership and influence\n * Rapid feedback on your contribution from customers through close working relationships with customer success, sales and executive leadership\n * Competitive market-rate salary for a Series A company\n * Subsidized healthcare, vision, and dental.\n * Early equity!\n \n\n\n\nNice to have experience:\n * Programmatic PDF document authoring/conversion/merging\n * Conjur (or other RBAC auth systems and concepts)\n * GetStream.io implementation\n * Big data, data warehousing, BigQuery, etc.\n * Pub/sub systems\n * Familiarity with Snowplow and/or event tracking systems\n * DevOps (particularly CI/CD tools, Kubernetes, Docker, GitHub actions, GCP CloudBuild)\n * Familiarity with SDLC concepts and working in an environment that meets SOC 2 Type II requirements, GDPR, CCPA, etc.\n * Previous with FinTech experience\n * Previous experience in the commercial construction industry either in-the-field or on the software side\n * Previous experience with FinTech\n * Previous experience with cloud file storage\n \n\n\n\nWe believe teams do their best work by drawing on a diverse range of staff backgrounds, and we strongly encourage women, people of color, members of the LGBTQ+ community, those who are neurally diverse, and those with physical challenges and/or disabilities to apply. \nMore important than meeting 100% of qualifications, we are looking for collaborative, long-term team members with a growth mindset, a commitment to proactive communication, and a bias towards action, who are aligned and excited with our companys mission to build the industry standard in digital change order communication for the commercial construction industry. \n\n#Salary and compensation\n

\nAn industry (and opportunity) like no other\nResponsible for enabling over 90% of global trade, maritime touches every part of our lives. Quite simply, without commercial ships, half the world would freeze, and half the world would starve.\nThe shipping industry is also responsible for a significant proportion of the global climate change crisis, and therefore a substantial proportion of the solutions that are so urgently needed. More than three percent of global carbon dioxide emissions can be attributed to ocean-going ships. This is an amount comparable to major carbon-emitting countries.\nFollowing a decade of rapid growth, StratumFive now services in excess of 12,000 vessels. \nScalable Path is looking for a Full-stack Node & React Developer for Chrome Extension to join the team and work on a client project. This is a remote, full-time position.\n\nCLIENT COMPANY DESCRIPTION:\nThe client's application is a no-code productivity tool for individuals at work. They believe that working professionals should be able to concentrate on their actual work, not tedious and repetitive tasks that come along with it. That’s why they designed a product that takes data that is siloed across different online services and makes it work TOGETHER so that it can trigger relevant automation at the right time and in real-time. They think that taking out the tediousness of day to day tasks shouldn’t be difficult nor should it be left to the executive and virtual assistants – and that’s exactly how we empower their users to do it on their own!\n\nTheir current product goal is to be the "go-to productivity Chrome extension" by handling a user's scheduling, tasks, and outreach needs better than an executive assistant. They are VC-funded and are in an exciting space (no-code automation!) with a great vision and a lot of features planned in their product roadmap over the next year!\n\nDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:\nYou will be adding new features to an existing application based around a Chrome extension. You'll need to write code on both the server-side (Node) & client-side (React) and follow existing coding style conventions.\n\nHere are some of the project you might work on:\n(1) Implementing a backend for the Chrome extension and setting up a third party DB and integrating with the chrome extension so local storage is no longer used\n(2) Using the backend, create a personalized webpage for logged in users and implement a scheduling page (similar to Calendly). Mockups will be provided. Transfer/integrate with an existing website on Squarespace.\n(3) Create a mobile Gmail/GSuite add-on for the chrome extension (https://developers.google.com/gsuite/add-ons/overview)\nPossible Future Features:\n(4) Text expander and email templates automation (based off the open source https://github.com/carlinyuen/ChromeAutoTextExpander )\n(5) Intelligent task scheduling & tracking. users enter tasks and have them intelligently scheduled into an existing calendar\n\nRELATIONSHIPS - WHO YOU'LL BE WORKING WITH:\nYou'll be working with the founder (who is also a developer) who is based in New York and 2 developers. The client is in the America/New York (-04:00) EDT time zone.\n\nREQUIRED SKILLS:\n- Strong written and spoken English\n- JavaScript (React and Node)\n- HTML/CSS\n- Comfortable integrating 3rd party APIs\n- Jest and Enzyme (for automated tests)\n- MongoDB\n- Ability to work within an existing design system and create new functionality with good user experience (sometimes without detailed designs for everything)\n\nSTART DATE:\nAs soon as possible.\n\nEXPECTED CONTRACT DURATION:\n1-2 months \n\nHOURLY RATE:\n\nThe pay rate for this role is from $30 - $45 USD per hour, depending on experience and capability. \n\n#Salary and compensation\n
