\nAbout the role\nTopia is the leader in Global Talent Mobility, empowering enterprise HR teams to deploy, manage and engage employees anywhere in the world.\n\n\nTopia has a new opportunity for Senior Software Engineer to join our team remotely either in Estonia, Spain or Ireland. In this role we are looking for an engineer with solid java experience to come onboard to design, develop and deploy backend services with a focus on low latency, high availability and scalability. We are looking for someone that can collaborate closely with other engineers and product as a valuable member, including participation in code reviews and design sessions.\n\n\nOur Product\nManaging a distributed workforce is pivotal to most companies - creating integrated global teams; hiring, developing and retaining the best people (regardless of location), supporting global customers and developing in new markets. \n\n\nOur product supports the gamut of ways in which global companies and their employees can work everywhere:\nโข Employees relocating and being assigned to different states or countries around the world \nโข Companies working in industries where global work is part of day to day life - such as workers moving on and off mining sites or oil rigs\nโข Employees frequently travelling for business\nโข Remote working or working from home around the world\n\n\nTopia picks up where other core corporate systems - HR, finance, benefits, expenses and payroll systems - struggle. Handling global immigration, tax, employment law, cost allocation and payroll withholding complexities and, more simply, just helping companies to work everywhere.\n\n\nAbout You\nYou are an experienced engineer who is passionate about engineering practices like agile, continuous delivery, test-driven development, OOP concepts and solid principles.\n\n\nYou should have solid experience as an engineer designing, developing and maintaining API driven solutions, and have a strong understanding of how a microservice architecture works, as well as implementing and designing RESTful APIs. You have strong communication skills, high integrity and great attention to detail.\n\n\nYou will have the opportunity to learn and work primarily with the following technologies: \nโข Java with Spring Boot\nโข React and Typescript\nโข PostgreSQL\nโข Kubernetes, Docker\nโข Git and Bitbucket\nโข Jenkins\n\n\nYou will also interact with the rest of our stack, which includes:\nโข C# with Dotnet and Dotnet core\nโข MSSQL\nโข Looker via Redshift\nโข AWS services\nโข Terraform\n\n\nAbout the Engineering Team\nThe team currently consists of experienced developers who have been working together for years, and are a welcoming, mentoring group. We are fiercely proud of our product. We work with an agile methodology - the usual things, two week sprints, daily standups. The process works for us, rather than the other way around.\n\n\nWe have an emphasis on skill transfer and mentoring. Our collaboration through meetings and code reviews are supportive. We talk about practices and standards, and come to a team consensus rather than being top-down in decision making with regards to architecture and style.\n\n\n\n\nโฌ50,000 - โฌ60,000 a year\n\nAt Topia, we ground ourselves in being equitable, fair, and treating employees as people, not numbers. Our total rewards and pay practices are centered around these principles as well. \n\n\nBase compensation ranges are intentionally broad to cover a variety of levels and locations. Position within the range will be determined by location, experience, and skill set. Our culture is one of open and honest communication so you can expect to have a conversation with a member of the People & Culture team about your compensation expectations early on in the recruiting process.\n\n\nEmployees at all levels and locations are also eligible to participate in our corporate bonus plan with an annual bonus target percentage and to receive stock options. These amounts are not included in the above listed base compensation range. Full and part-time employees based in Ireland and Estonia are entitled to the below benefits:\n\n\nโข 43 paid days off per year. This includes 25 (Ireland) 28 (Estonia) days of Holiday Leave, 10 company paid holidays, 4 days of Volunteer Time Off, and 1 Floating Holiday to take for whatever day or celebration is personally meaningful to you\nโข 8 weeks of fully paid Parental Leave offered globally for all new parents, plus an additional 8 weeks of Pregnancy Leave for birthing parents\nโข Private health insurance for employees\nโข Flexible working arrangements including an established Remote Work Policy and no in-office requirements \n\n#Salary and compensation\n

We canโt stress this enough!\n\n* Experience working with databases using SQL and migrations (no stored procedures).\n\n* Experience developing for distributed systems (NServiceBus), message queues, caching (Redis) and web sockets (SignalR).\n\n* Comprehensive understanding of AWS tools like Lambda, API Gateway, and DynamoDB.\n\n* Familiar with one or more CSS, HTML, and Javascript frameworks -- preferably Bootstrap and Foundation.\n\n* Experience using a Javascript client-side MVC/MVVM framework -- preferably Angular2 or React.\n\n* Familiar with software development methodologies; including Agile and Scrum.\n\n* Have the skill and patience to craft semantic HTML and CSS to meet responsive design and cross-browser requirements.\n\n* Exposure to using source control systems and workflows in a small team environment - preferably with Git and Gitflow.\n\n* Be driven and positive with the ability to thrive and deliver in a fast-paced, innovative and creative environment.\n\n\n\n\nWhat is the team like?\n\n\n* We want to use the best tool for the jobโฆ if there is something better then let's try it.\n\n* We are Agile and work in two-week sprints.\n\n* We are disciplined when it comes to testing. Your direct manager will be Ryan Ferretti (https://www.linkedin.com/in/ryanferretti) and his boss is our CEO, Chris Brown (https://www.linkedin.com/in/brown784). If you care about building experience by releasing great software, accomplishing goals, and learning new things, this is the right place for you. If you care about titles and meetings, this is not the right place for you. Our belief is there will always be โthe next jobโ so push yourself to learn and grow in the time you are here.\n\nWhat is work like at CraftJack?\n\nCraftJack is an emerging online referral service that is an operating brand of Angi, the leading online marketplace helping homeowners and home service professionals connect.\n\nThink of CraftJack as a startup without all of the risks: no late (or missed) paychecks, no need to find your own expensive health insurance plan, no working for a tiny fraction of your market value. We value every team member and if we hire you, itโs because we think you can do great things with us.\n\nWe arenโt going to sugar-coat everything. We have our challenges like every other business. Where we separate ourselves is having the willingness and motivation to take our challenges head-on before they grow.\n\nWhere is the office?\n\nWe are a fully remote company but also understand the importance of having a space to collaborate when necessary. We have a space in the Merchandise Mart in downtown Chicago that we will be moving into once the pandemic subsides. We have been fully remote since March 2020, so this role will continue to be remote first. Missionย \nSpeakeasy is building Zero Ops APIs. We are on a mission to make the API lifecycle developer first. Today developers have to orchestrate API changes by hand which means for every change this means updating infrastructure and hand rolling changes to docs, sdks, gateways, auth, billing etc โ this list is endless! Speakeasy takes the heavy lifting out of providing a great API experience by integrating directly into your gitops and propagating changes. Simply annotate your API, hit git push and weโll take care of the rest !ย Weโre looking for a founding engineer to help us build the future of how developers build and ship APIs. Our team is thoughtful about what makes a world-class developer experience in addition to an unwavering commitment to extensibility and reliability. An ideal candidate loves technical challenges, has an eye for building developer-focused workflows, and is excited to bring an opinionated view to a truly massive and foundational market opportunity.ย \n\nAbout us\nSpeakeasy was co-founded by Sagar Batchu and Simon Yu. Sagar was previously Director of Engineering at LiveRamp. He was the first engineering hire for the company in London and built both dev tooling and data infrastructure teams, growing the London office to 50+ developers. He also open sourced LiveRampโs API development stack. Simon was most recently a product lead at Flexport and has over 10 years of product development experience. He was 2nd hire at Safegraph where he led development of their flagship product.ย ย Speakeasy is backed by a top-tier VC and a gaggle of angel investors who occupy leadership positions at key software engineering firms. Weโre based in San Francisco, and are looking to hire remote first in the US. We believe that in-person collaboration is strategically important for a company at our stage, while also recognizing that top-level talent can be found anywhere. To balance the two, there are no constraints on employee location, but we do plan for our entire team to meet up and spend a week together roughly every 2 months (travel paid for) โ we think this is important not only for velocity, but also for company culture.\n\nAbout you\nEnthusiastic about working on engaging technical challenges for developer products. Excited to be a builder for builders! Experience building products from scratch and working in collaborative teams.\n\nYou might be a good fit if you: \n- Have experience (~5+ years) working on internal platform engineering teams, developer tools, developer productivity or infrastructure products at scale\n- Have experienced the realities of building and maintaining APIs first hand\n- Are a generalist engineer with an ability to pick up new frameworks quickly and are willing to work across the stack from backend to frontend\n- Enjoy understanding technical domains deeply and are willing to really get into the weeds.\n\nOur technical process\nWe are using Go Lang, Typescript, React + NextJS, Kubernetes, and Terraform. We are all polyglots who believe in pushing the bar of what is possible. As a founding team member, you will be deeply involved in our technical evolution.ย ย We believe in shipping code quickly and continuously. Weโll make sure of your full setup on day 1 and shipping code by the end of day 2 !\n\nQualities we value\n-Execution: Weโve a fast-moving and exciting environment where you will be putting down foundational building blocks for the company. We execute with a sense of urgency.ย \n\n-Humility: Our success is always a team activity. We bring small egos to work and support each other in our shared endeavor every day.ย \n\n-Ownership & Autonomy: We gather data, make clear decisions, and have ownership of our product and our outcomes.ย \n\n-Transparency: We are honest with others and, most importantly, ourselves. We extend this value to our development as well, which is why we build in the open. Some of what we ship will be open source and wherever possible we have public roadmaps for our customers to engage with.ย \n\n-Tenacity: Startups require adaptability and perseverance. We value stamina to stay the course. Weโre building a company that will shape the ecosystem for the next 10+ years, and we want our teamsโ decision making to share that perspective.\n\n \n\n#Salary and compensation\n
