About Framework\nAt Framework, we believe the time has come for products that are designed to last. Founded in San Francisco in 2019, our mission is to remake Consumer Electronics to respect people and the planet.\n\nOur first product is the Framework Laptop, a thin, light, high-performance notebook that can be upgraded, customized, and repaired in ways that no other notebook can. Alongside this, we've launched the Framework Marketplace to enable an ecosystem of parts and modules. We've seen a fantastic reception to our first product from customers and reviewers from outlets like Linus Tech Tips, Ars Technica, and Wirecutter, along with landing on the cover of TIME's Best Inventions of 2021. As a company, we made #35 on Fast Company's Most Innovative Companies of 2022.\n\nWe come from successful consumer electronics startups including the founding team of Oculus, and we recently closed an $18M Series A fundraising round to fuel our roadmap. Even better (and maybe unusually for an early stage startup), we're in a financially healthy position going forward off of our product revenue. We care deeply about building a diverse and inclusive team, and we hope you do too!\n\nThe Position\nWe are looking for a full-stack engineer to join our Marketplace engineering team building our eCommerce platform with Ruby on Rails and Solidus/Spree Commerce.ย  This position will report to our Head of Marketplace and will work closely with our development partner based in Europe and our quickly growing internal marketplace development team based in the US for the design, implementation, testing, deployment and maintenance of all marketplace features. Like Basecamp, our frontend is 100% server-rendered HTML over the wire. No JSON APIs, no GraphQL, no React - just form submissions and links.\nย \nWeโ€™re headquartered in Burlingame, CA, and are open to local or remote candidates in the US. #LI-Remote\n\n\nWhat we offer\nโ€ขย  ย Competitive salary, equity and health benefits.\nโ€ขย  ย Flexible work hours.\nโ€ขย  ย Be an early member of Framework's team and get to shape the technological direction of our marketplace.\nโ€ขย  ย Contribute to open source software as part of your day-to-day work.\nโ€ขย  ย Work with a world class team of hardware and software engineers.\nโ€ขย  ย Work at a startup that is making a positive social impact.\n \n\n#Salary and compensation\n No salary data published by company so we estimated salary based on similar jobs related to React, HTML, Ruby, Senior, Engineer and Ecommerce jobs that are similar:\n\n $60,000 — $120,000/year\n

About the Job at PostPilot.com / Handwrite.ioย
Youโ€™ll pitch in on building our Ruby on Rails + Hotwire app(s) as we continue to grow, add new features, keep them fast, and ratchet up their reliability & robustness.

At PostPilot we build our products following some of the Shape Up methodology and keep our apps fast, secure, and reliable. Right now, we're hoping to further develop our flagship product PostPilot and work on problems like A/B testing, MFA, Adding more e-commerce integrations, building external APIs, and of course, making sure our existing infrastructure is scalable and maintained.ย

This position includes building features, deep-dive debugging, internal tooling, web performance, and internal support, with a bit of Robots and hardware thrown in. Day in and day out youโ€™ll get to the bottom of multiple different issues across the stack and across projects. You can expect an inclusive, eager small team (of 4 devs) team whoโ€™ll support you in it, rise to challenges with you, and grow together.ย

Here are real examples of the work weโ€™ve done lately that might help you to get a better idea of what this job entails:
  • Built a fleet of handwriting robots driven by Ruby on Rails.
  • Built support for single-use unique coupon codes in direct mail campaignsย
  • Built the ability for Shopify brands (our users) to send real handwritten notes (postcards in envelopes, with real pens) with live in-browser previews
  • Created a Public API for sending postcards and handwritten notes in our production facility.
  • Developing a load balancing strategy for โ€œexpensiveโ€ Sidekiq background jobs that were crushing external APIs and our queues.
  • Improved developer experience with Heroku (Pipelines, CI, and Review apps), Github Actions
  • Deep dive into expensive queries in our application and working to improve performance and memory consumption from Postgres to Rails
  • Built a webhook event publishing system for events from our production facility.
  • Upgraded our main application to Rails 7 with import maps and hotwire.

About you
Weโ€™re looking for candidates who are ready for a similar breadth and depth of work. There are a lot of areas of responsibility! Solid fundamentals with software development, systems, troubleshooting, and teamwork pave the way.

We value people who have an opinion but can commit even if they disagree. People who understand the value of others being heard. This is only possible with direct feedback, openness to each othersโ€™ experiences, and willingness to show up for each other.

You can expect a team that listens, and to be heard. You can expect to be counted on. We care about what you can do and how you do it, not about how you got here. This is a remote-friendly job. Youโ€™re free to work where you work best. The bulk of our work is written via Slack and Github, from pull request discussions to team chats, and video recordings with a few video calls thrown in.ย

We require your timezone to overlap at least 5 hours with the United States east coast workday.

Pay and benefits
The salary for this position is $80,000 - $120,000 USD to be paid monthly. Applicants from outside the US will be offered a contractor role with comparable terms and at the same rate of pay as our US-based employees.

Our target start date for our new hire is as soon as possible.

#### WHO WE ARE\n\nWe're a distributed software consultancy focused on helping clients find opportunities for improvement in the operations and ecommerce spaces and crafting software solutions to serve these goals.\n\nWeโ€™re a fully-distributed team (currently with team members in Kentucky, Indiana, Illinois, Missouri, Bonaire, London), but strive to be hands-on in our process and keep communication flowing within our own team and with our clients โ€” whether that means asynchronous chat, video calls, or popping out to where clients get their work done once in a while. While we want to keep making new connections and helping their business dreams come true (thatโ€™s where you come in), we also aim to keep our existing clients close and want to stick with them for the long haul.\n\nWhere it comes to software design philosophy, we have a bias towards rolling up our sleeves and taking action so we can validate small assumptions on client needs before they become big and keep things moving. We believe that code should be clear and easily-understood code for the benefit of future codebase users, and we favor working in frameworks like Rails for that reason.\n\nSound like folks you might want to work with? Read on.\n\n#### WHO YOU ARE\n\nYou should be very knowledgeable inโ€ฆ\n\n* Ruby on Rails\n* Vanilla Javascript\n* System administration: server configuration, caching, deployment.\n\nAnd itโ€™d be very cool if you also had experience withโ€ฆ\n\n* Software development terms and/or process.\n* Some Javascript frameworks (React, Stimulus, etc.).\n* The ecommerce domain.\n\n#### WHAT YOUโ€™LL BE DOING\n\nWe work with lots of different clients. In some cases, weโ€™re on a full-time project for a fixed period of time. In other cases, weโ€™re helping out on a few smaller projects or retainer work. Once in a while, weโ€™ll have an off-hours support call to take care of, too.\n\nYou might be building a brand-new, greenfield application one week and working on a couple of existing applications the next week.\n\nYouโ€™ll get to see the ins and outs of lots of different companies and industries.\n\n#### WHAT YOU NEED TO DO THE THINGS YOUโ€™LL BE DOINGโ€ฆ\n\n* A space to work, free from most distractions.\n* A reliable, fast internet connection.\n* A computer, preferably a Mac. We can help with that if you need one.\n* Enough hours in your schedule to do the work.\n\n#### WHAT YOUโ€™LL BE GETTING\n\n* We offer competitive salaries. For developer roles, the salary range is $60,000 โ€“ $165,000 USD, based on experience.\n* 100% paid health, dental, and vision coverage for employees. Family coverage is available as well.\n* Paid time off for holidays and personal time.\n* A new computer to help you crank out code faster and easier.\n* Flexible work hours and the ability to work from just about anywhere.\n* Occasional client visits when possible.\n \n\nPlease mention the word **JUBILANT** when applying to show you read the job post completely (#RMTguMjE2LjQ1LjIzMQ==). At 8returns, we're transforming one of the most frustrating, environmentally damaging and costly aspects of e-commerce โ€” returns. Our customers love 8returns because it delivers a seamless returns experience, frees their team from tedious manual tasks and is more sustainable for our environment. We are funded by well-known industry leaders and early stage investors.\n\nAs a small team, weโ€™re all generalists and constantly picking up new challenges. When it comes to code, weโ€™re looking to work with experienced people who can pick a problem and solve it. If you are someone with a strong drive to build something new, while tackling any obstacles in your way, and motivated by constantly learning and becoming better, 8returns is for you.\n\n### **What youโ€™ll do:**\n\nYou'll be one of the first engineers and a member of the founding team, joining a team of 5 engineers. Our stack is Ruby on Rails + Postgres + React.\n\n### **Who You Are:**\n\nWe're looking for an experienced Frontend Software Engineer to join our engineering team. Someone who has a solid understanding of web technologies and wants to help design, implement, and launch major user-facing features.\n\nYou should have senior level experience (~5 years) building modern frontend applications in JavaScript, HTML, and CSS, with at least 3 years of that experience using React.\n\nYou should have significant experience designing, debugging, and optimizing frontend applications to make them fast and reliable. You have significant experience with REST APIs and thoroughly understand HTTP requests. You have experience participating in code reviews and providing overall code quality suggestions to help maintain the structure and quality of the codebase.\n\nYou should have great product sense and be able to think through user experience issues before diving into the code, and you exhibit a love for great UI.\n\nYouโ€™re comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with a small and talented team where you're supported in your efforts to grow professionally. You are able to manage your time well, communicate effectively and collaborate in a fully distributed team.\n\nYouโ€™ll be able to work remotely and (mostly) set your own schedule.\n\n## Why join us?\n\n### Shape the direction of the company as an early team member\n\nWork towards creating something that will be experienced by millions of people every day.\n\n### Work from anywhere\n\nWe have a hybrid work culture. We have our HQ in Berlin but we want to build the best team, so we're committed to hiring excellent team members from `anywhere`.\n\n### We're a team that knows all this work is only worth it if you enjoy it\n\nWe make sure to make the journey just as rewarding and fun as the outcome.\n\n### **Backed by successful entrepreneurs and VCs**\n\nWe are funded by well-known industry leaders and early stage investors. \n\nPlease mention the words **CAPITAL MINOR SUBJECT** when applying to show you read the job post completely (#RMTguMjE2LjQ1LjIzMQ==). At [8returns](https://www.8returns.com), we're transforming one of the most frustrating, environmentally damaging and costly aspects of e-commerce โ€” returns. Brands love 8returns because it delivers a seamless returns experience for customers, frees their team from tedious manual tasks and is more sustainable for our environment. We just received our first round of funding from industry leaders like Philipp Kreibohm (founder of home24), Bjรถrn Sykora (founder of Mister Spex), Paul Schwarzenholz & Bjรถrn Kolbmรผller (founders of Flaconi and Zenloop), Johannes Schaback (CTO SumUp), Tamaz Georgadze & Frank Freund (founders of raisin), Verena Pausder (author & entrepreneur) and many more!\nAs a small team, weโ€™re all generalists and constantly picking up new challenges. When it comes to code, weโ€™re looking to work with experienced people who can pick a problem and solve it. If you are someone with a strong drive to build something new, while tackling any obstacles in your way, and motivated by constantly learning and becoming better, 8returns is for you.\n### **What youโ€™ll do:**\n- You'll be working with a small team in building a product that will be used by millions of people.\n- You will lead projects from start to launch. Founded in 2013, Nadine West sends personalized outfits to your doorstep every month. No subscription fees. Pay for only what you like.\n\n**DESCRIPTION**\n\nReporting directly to the Lead Engineer (and working alongside a member of the Ruby on Rails core team!), you will dive in and take ownership of our existing codebase, helping extend and scale our bespoke recommendations engine, order management, inventory, shipping, and reporting components.\n\nThis is a great opportunity to help lead the engineering team of a startup that is already profitable, already a well-known brand for women, but is still growing fast even in COVID times. We are based in Austin TX, but we are a remote-first company, so you can live and work anywhere.\n\n**REQUIREMENTS**\n\nYou partner with stakeholders to understand the business needs and design right-sized solutions, able to move from open-minded design thinking to breaking problems down and iterating to create working software.\n\nYou have built, launched, extended, and maintained a business-critical Rails app long enough to learn from your decisions, and love sharing those stories.\n\nYou have time-tested beliefs about code quality, testing, architecture, database design, ORMs, and build vs. buy tradeoffs, and enjoy articulating those beliefs to your colleagues.\n\nYouโ€™re at home owning the entire product development cycle (design, dev, testing, release, monitoring).\n\nYouโ€™ve managed CI/CD pipelines and love auto-deploying to production after your well-honed tests pass.\n\nYou cherish focused, low-interruption deep work like we do (See Basecampโ€™s โ€œIs Group Chat is Making you Sweat?โ€ and Cal Newportโ€™s โ€œDeep Workโ€).\n\nYouโ€™re excited to work remotely, but also excited to share a US timezone and let us host you in Austin one day!\n\n**BENEFITS**\n\n* This position pays somewhere between your local pay and Austin pay (Google โ€œAustin senior software engineer salaryโ€.)\n* You can work and live anywhere that makes you happy.\n* We have always been a remote work company, collaborating across multiple continents. # SLI Developer Job Post\n\n## About SalonInteractive\n\nSalonInteractive is a nimble, rapidly growing startup in the Health & Beauty eCommerce space. We provide an extremely easy way for salons to sell product online by linking them directly to distributors around the US. You could think of it as an out-of-the-box ready platform for dropshipping, but it's more complex in terms of both code and partnerships than that makes it sound. The complexity in the space gives us interesting problems to work on in the near term, and makes the business defensible in the long term.\n\nOur current goals can be summed up simply: provide a more modern, more beautiful, more streamlined experience for all of our partners, of which there are many. Salons, stylists, consumers, distributors, brands, us (SalonInteractive), and more. We are accomplishing this goal by redesigning and rearchitecting much of our core application. It's an exciting time.\n\nWe want to deliver a product that is high quality inside and out. One that helps our partners capitalize on real opportunities, and gives us flexibility to meet the as-yet-unknown needs of the future. To this end, the engineering team works closely with stakeholders to combine their understanding of problems and opportunities with our understanding of engineering to craft effective solutions.\n\n## Your Day-to-day\n\nThis is a hands-on, fully-remote programming position. You'll be working on our Ruby on Rails based eCommerce platform backend, as well as the Tailwind/AlpineJS frontend. The core technologies youโ€™ll be working withโ€”and need to be familiar for success in this roleโ€”are Ruby, HTML, CSS, and JS.\n\nWe have a large number of high-impact projects planned for the platform. You'll work closely with the CTO, our existing development team, and other stakeholders both within the company and outside of it to understand needs and develop solutions. Your responsibilities will include designing, developing and deploying code to best serve our customers and partners.\n\nAs mentioned before, we have quite a bit of work planned for the next few months, so an ideal applicant will be ready to hit the ground running. Despite the amount of work we have, we strive to minimize context switchingโ€”if youโ€™re on a project, you shouldnโ€™t expect to be bombarded with unrelated tweaks on other projects here and there thoughโ€”as with any companyโ€”it does happen to some extent.\n\nWe're a small but quickly growing post-revenue startup. As one of the early hires, there is opportunity for this to be a high impact position. An appropriately ambitious individual will have huge opportunity to lay the groundwork for the company's future.\n\n## Some Notes on Culture\n\nHere are some of our values. Theyโ€™re always being refined based on what works and what doesnโ€™t.\n\n- We value clear, concise communication.\n- Ask questions. You can only produce high quality work if you have a clear understanding of the problem and the constraints.\n- Contextโ€”understanding our partners and their stakeholdersโ€”empowers individual contributors to find better solutions.\n- Free up time for interesting problems by automating repeatable tasks and learning your tools inside and out.\n- No process for processโ€™ sake. No meetings for meetingsโ€™ sake. But we respect that there *is* a place for both.\n- Individual productivity is important, and hugely dependent on a minimally distracting, supportive environment.\n\n## Technical Responsibilities\n\nWhen you start, this is what you can expect to work on.\n\n- Designing the technical architecture of large new components for the system\n- Implementation of features on the platform\n- Implementing designs in CSS/HTML/JS\n- Configuring and tuning middleware services, Redis, ElasticSearch, etc.\n- Integrating with 3rd party APIs and developing our own for public consumption\n\n## Qualifications\n\nThese are the must haves. Basically: be a Ruby web developer!\n\n- 3โ€“5+ years of industry experience\n- Hands-on programming experience with Ruby\n- Proficient in HTML, CSS, and JS\n- Git experience\n- Understand the webโ€”REST, HTTP verbs, basic HTTP status codes, etc.\n- Familiarity with the Unix command line\n\n## Ideal Qualifications\n\nIf you fulfill the above *and* have experience with a few of the below, definitely get in touch.\n\n- Hands-on programming experience with Ruby on Rails\n- Enterprise software development\n- Strong UX/UI chops\n- Deep understanding building complex database queries, particularly MySQL\n- Opinionated about designโ€”visual and code\n- A portfolio of personal projects (not necessarily code related) \n\nPlease mention the words **THIS TURN WISH** when applying to show you read the job post completely (#RMTguMjE2LjQ1LjIzMQ==). This is a feature to avoid spam applicants. Companies can search these words to find applicants that read this and see they're human.\n\n \n\n#Location\nWorldwide

Shopify is now permanently remote and working towards a future that is digital by default. Learn more about what this can mean for you.\n\nShopify is the leading cloud-based, multi-channel commerce platform. Merchants can use the software to design, set up, and manage their stores across multiple sales channels, including web, mobile, social media, marketplaces, and brick-and-mortar locations. The platform also provides merchants with a powerful back-office and a single view of their business. Shopify was engineered for reliability and scale, making enterprise-level technology available to businesses of all sizes. Shopify powers over 1,000,000 businesses in over 175 countries โ€” and hereโ€™s how weโ€™ve been helping more merchants survive, thrive, and navigate the impacts of COVID-19.\n \nShopify is on a fast-moving mission to make the best products for merchants, buyers, and partners around the globe โ€” and engineers play a vital role in building that future. Here are just some of the stories from the engineering teams who build and scale Shopify.\n \n*Intrigued? Thatโ€™s great! Weโ€™re looking for Senior Software Developers to join our team, and maybe youโ€™re the person weโ€™re looking for!*\n\n**What types of Senior Software Developers might be interested in joining?**\n \n**Backend Development**\n\nAt Shopify, Backend Developers with a passion for solving tough problems with performant code work on teams that ship on quality instead of on time. Our teams deploy new code many times a day, and our production scale is massive. Weโ€™re talking over 1 million online stores, and hundreds of millions of requests a day. Thousands of entrepreneurs will see your work within seconds โ€“ a difficult but incredibly rewarding responsibility. Shopify is the largest Ruby on Rails application in the world and we're a big part of the Rails community. Weโ€™re constantly improving our codebase to make it even better.\n \n**Mobile Development (React Native, Android & iOS)**\n\nOur Mobile Developers work along with designers and product managers to build and launch new features for our apps. Youโ€™ll work on large-scale apps that are ever-changing, enabling entrepreneurship for hundreds of thousands of entrepreneurs. Our Android developers use Kotlin and our iOS developers use Swift. Our teams are increasingly working with React Native so openness to cross-platform mobile development is a plus!\n \n**UX Development **\n\nAt Shopify, UX Developers work on building experiences inclusive of everyone regardless of location, language, device, assistive technology, or network speed. Youโ€™ll work across disciplines and are excited about building human-centered experiences. Youโ€™ll work closely with the teams that create compelling content, build awareness of Shopify, and communicate stories about Shopify's role in commerce to a global audience. Or, you might focus on creating thoughtful product interfaces for our users, shape our design language, and contribute to our shared component libraries in a maintainable and scalable way. Our teams primarily work with the latest web standards in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, and Ruby on Rails.\n \n**Web Development**\n\nOur Web Developers work closely with software engineering teams, designers and product managers to not only build incredible merchant-facing products, but also developer-facing tools. Youโ€™ll use modern technologies and frameworks like Typescript, React, GraphQL and Apollo to develop large front-end web applications that scale and perform well on all devices. Ruby on Rails is used to add and modify controllers, models, views, and integrating front-end code into a Rails application.\n\n**Youโ€™ll be working on things like:**\n\n* Collaborating with other designers and developers\n* Creating beautiful and fast code that improves our code base in meaningful ways\n* Using test-driven development to write well-tested code\n* Fixing bugs fast and taking your time to solve hard problems well\n* Contributing back to the open source community\n\n**Qualities you likely have to be well suited to this role:**\n\n* Experience using technologies and frameworks like (but not limited to) some of our most-used languages โ€” Ruby on Rails, GraphQL, Java/JEE, Node.js, PHP, Python, React or React Native โ€” is an asset, but not required. Donโ€™t have experience with many of them? No problem โ€” deep experience with any object-oriented language and willingness to learn our tech stack goes a long way. (Also: Check out our StackShare here.)\n* Curiosity and passion to constantly learn new things; Shopify changes fast, and we need the people who work here to be able to change and learn fast too\n* Experience with relational databases and SQL \n\n**Bonus Points**\n\nYouโ€™ve mentored teammates on new ways to deepen their technical craft \n\nPlease mention the words **REMIND JUNIOR WET** when applying to show you read the job post completely (#RMTguMjE2LjQ1LjIzMQ==). ## About SalonInteractive\n\nSalonInteractive is a still-small but rapidly growing startup in the Health & Beauty eCommerce space. We provide an extremely easy way for salons to sell product online by linking them directly to distributors around the US. You could think of it as an out-of-the-box ready platform for dropshipping, but it's more complex in terms of both code and partnerships than that makes it sound. The complexity gives us interesting problems to work on in the near term, and makes the business defensible in the long term.\n\nOur current goals can be summed up simply: provide a more modern, more beautiful, more streamlined experience for all of our partners, of which there are many. Salons, stylists, consumers, distributors, brands, us (SalonInteractive), and more. We are accomplishing this goal by redesigning and rearchitecting much our core application. An appropriately ambitious individual will have huge opportunity to lay the groundwork of the company's future.\n\n## Some Notes on Culture\n\nHere are some of our values. But we respect that there *is* a place for both.\n- Individual productivity is important, and hugely dependent on a minimally distracting, supportive environment.\n\n# Responsibilities\n When you start, this is what you can expect to work on.\n\n- Designing the technical architecture of large new components for the system\n- Implementation of features on the platform\n- Implementing designs in CSS/HTML/JS\n- Configuring and tuning middleware services, Redis, ElasticSearch, etc.\n- Integrating with 3rd party APIs and developing our own for public consumption \n\n# Requirements\n## Qualifications\n\nThese are the must haves. Basically: be a Ruby web developer!\n\n- 3โ€“5+ years of industry experience\n- Hands-on programming experience with Ruby\n- Proficient in HTML, CSS, and JS\n- Git experience\n- Understand the webโ€”REST, HTTP verbs, basic HTTP status codes, etc.\n- Familiarity with the Unix command line\n\n## Ideal Qualifications\n\nIf you fulfill the above *and* have experience with a few of the below, definitely get in touch.\n\n- Hands-on programming experience with Ruby on Rails\n- Enterprise software development\n- Strong UX/UI chops\n- Deep understanding building complex database queries, particularly MySQL\n- Opinionated about designโ€”visual and code\n- A portfolio of personal projects (not necessarily code related) \n\nPlease mention the words **SHIFT FINISH FRAME** when applying to show you read the job post completely (#RMTguMjE2LjQ1LjIzMQ==). This is a feature to avoid spam applicants. Companies can search these words to find applicants that read this and see they're human.\n\n \n\n#Salary and compensation\n No salary data published by company so we estimated salary based on similar jobs related to JavaScript, Ruby, Web Developer, Developer, Digital Nomad and Ecommerce jobs that are similar:\n\n $60,000 — $125,000/year\n \n\n#Location\nWorldwide
