In this role, you'll oversee strategy and design of features that realize Medallionโs vision of reducing the burden of administrative work on medical professionals, freeing them to focus on patient care. Whether it's making complex processes intuitive for healthcare providers, making powerful tools easy to use for healthcare admins, or empowering the team with research to better understand the pain points we are alleviating, we believe great product design is critical to our success. \n\nAs Design Manager, you will be responsible for the Product Design function and guiding the full lifecycle of design from initial user research to final pixel quality, coaching the team and enabling them to do the best work of their careers. You will foster collaborative relationships with senior leaders to elevate the role of product design within the organization, proactively navigating opportunities with clear, forward-looking communication. Through intentional mentorship, coaching, process design, and recruiting, you will build an exceptional design team nurturing a culture that prizes quality, creativity, and impactful work.\n\nThis role reports to the VP Product and base compensation for this role is between $160,000 - $200,000 depending on location and level.In addition to base salary, Medallion offers equity, and benefits as part of the total compensation package. Many factors are considered when determining pay including: market data, geographic location, skills, qualifications, experience, and level.\n\nResponsibilities:\n\n\n* Lead and mentor a 3-5 member design team, focusing on professional growth and enabling the team to deliver the best work of their careers.\n\n* Own and evolve the design function vision and strategy with cross-functional alignment to business and user needs.\n\n* Balance strategic oversight with hands-on design direction to ensure quality and pace. \n\n* Continuously up-level Medallionโs design systems and visual language as a strategic differentiator with customers.\n\n* Foster collaboration across Design, Product, Engineering, and Marketing teams.\n\n* Manage the design process from ideation to launch, including user research, critiques, brainstorming, scoping, design system development, final design execution and iteration.\n\n* Communicate design solutions effectively across all levels, including executive leadership.\n\n* Demonstrate strong project management, project scoping, and collaboration skills.\n\n* Inspire the design team through understanding of industry trends and user advocacy.\n\n\n\n\nWeโre looking for someone who has:\n\n\n* Experience: \n\n\n\n* 7+ years of experience in Product Design, including 3+ years of experience in managing design teams.\n\n* Experience shipping data workflow products for enterprise customers\n\n\n\n* Portfolio: Strong portfolio examples that showcase a broad range of product design work shipped to production users across a diverse range of use cases\n\n\n\n\nNice to haves:\n\n\n* Experience designing for clinicians\n\n* Experience designing for automation or AI/ML powered products\n\n* A specialty: deeper expertise in one or more of visual design, user research, analytics, design systems, or another area\n\n\n\n\n \n\n#LI-remote\n\n \n\n#Salary and compensation\n
