We are looking for a seasoned Software Test Engineer who will be a key driver to make this happen.\n\nSemanticBits is looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer/Tester with 7+ years of experience testing web-based applications and 3+ years leading test teams.  This position will have a heavy focus on developing an automated framework for our current test suites.  Our application will be developed using modern JavaScript technology for the front-end (React or Angular) and the back-end (NodeJS).  Automated and manual experience testing and validating web interfaces and API based on these technologies is preferred.  Experience with integrating automated testing into CI/CD processes is required. This position is open to a senior-level to principal professional depending on experience.\n\nResponsibilities\n\n\n* Work closely with the leadership team on a large, complex program involving numerous, integrated software products\n\n* Define and maintain test plans and test specifications for functional and automated regression, and performance testing\n\n* Ensure the overall quality of all aspects complex software system, including data, APIs, and web application\n\n* Identify gaps in test approach, strategize on a plan to fill the gaps, and then execute that plan\n\n* Design and maintain automated test scripts covering fundamental front and backend functions in the application\n\n* Work with IT Developers to improve automated testing where possible\n\n* Create manual test cases and validation of automation failures\n\n* Create and manage defects through the product life cycle\n\n* Generate test reports and traceability matrices\n\n* Translate high-level business requirements into test scenarios\n\n* Assist in keeping application specifications accurate and up to date\n\n* Perform service-level testing on an as-needed basis\n\n\n\n\n\n* Work closely with engineering teams to discuss risk and risk mitigation \n\n* Shaping the overall QA process through application of best practices and new approaches to testing workflow\n\n\n\n\nRequirements\n\n\n* 7+ years of experience in a software testing role\n\n* Hands-on experience with different types of testing (System, Regression, Smoke, Performance, Load, etc.)\n\n* UNIX experience preferred\n\n* Knowledge of relational database concepts and good SQL skills preferred\n\n* Hands-on experience with database management software (MySQL, Robo 3T)\n\n* Hands-on experience testing and debugging web-based software including use of in-browser development tools\n\n* Hands-on experience with API testing tool such as Postman, Insomnia or Paw\n\n* Hands-on experience with front end automation tools such as Cypress or Selenium\n\n* Experience in micro-services based Architecture and messaging protocols preferred\n\n* Solid understanding of Software Configuration Management concepts and methodologies\n\n* Proficient in at least one source control tool (Git)\n\n* Proficient in at least one issue tracking tool (JIRA)\n\n* Proficient in at least one test management tool (TestRail, Quality Center)\n\n* Experience with Load, Stress, and Performance testing\n\n* Experience with Agile development methodologies and tools\n\n\n\n\n\n* Strong critical thinking, attention to detail, and analytical skills\n\n* Strong oral and written communication skills\n\n* Ability to work independently\n\n* Candidate must reside in the United States\n\n* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science strongly preferred and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience or a Master’s degree with a minimum of 3 years experience\n\n* Flexible and willing to accept a change in priorities as necessary\n\n\n\n\nNice to Have: \n\n\n* Experience working in the healthcare industry\n\n* Federal Government contracting work experience\n\n* Prior experience working remotely full-time\n\n\n\n\nPhysical and emotional requirements for the job:\n\nThis position is to be performed remotely from an individual’s home office and involves sedentary work.
