\nOur partner, a social good AI startup, is looking to bring on a senior staff software engineer. They are using data to change the world, and you can be part of the solution. The staff software engineer is an impactful role that collaborates with teams across the company.\n\n\nOn this team, you will be a leader in architecting and implementing solutions to the most critical technical and product challenges on the team. You will also be charged with setting best practices and leading the team in implementations of these solutions. \n\nWhat You'll Bring:\n\n\n* 10+ years of software development experience focused on web applications \n\n* Very significant experience designing, building, and maintaining enterprise applications with Python (or other common backend language) and browser-side Javascript.\n\n* Understanding of work queues for scheduled and deferred tasks.\n\n* High proficiency with relational databases and the ability to profile and optimize queries.\n\n* Experience working closely with product and account support personnel to lead the development of the best solutions to the most substantial problems.\n\n* Significant experience architecting systems to meet high standards of reliability and ease of use \n\n* Comfort in the face of ambiguous needs and requirements, and the ability to extract clarity\n\n* Attention to detail in work and ability to identify ambiguities in specifications.\n\n* Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, especially when communicating trade-offs between technical decisions to non-technical colleagues.\n\n\n\n\nNice to Have\n\n\n* Experience with Flask and Celery\n\n* Experience with React, or ClojureScript\n\n* Experience with PostgreSQL\n\n* Experience with container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes\n\n* Experience with large enterprise cloud providers such as AWS or GCP\n\n\n \n\n#Salary and compensation\n
