Remote Java Software Engineer

The project involves both transformation and building new services to be offered to customers. We are looking for team players who wants to be part of this challenging project working in a high-performance Agile Engineering team.\n\n\n\n\nDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: \n\nOn a day to day basis you will be creating, modifying and testing code. You will be working within a Software Engineering Scrum Team on innovative projects.\n\nSome of the latest technologies we work with include Enterprise Java, EJB, Microservices, Docker, Kubernetes & Helm.\n\nIt is expected that you are able to work with agile methodology and handle issues in a manner that complies with the way of working and java design guidelines set out by the Product Owner, Scrum Master and the client.\n\nIt is expected that you bring your own experience and ideas to the development process and you will be responsible for developing high-quality java code in an agile environment. Your work will include unit testing and other types of functional and non-functional testing. You will be required to interface with customers and stakeholders and mitigate risk.<br/><br/>\nBASIC REQUIREMENTS:\n\n\n\n* A 3rd level degree in Computer Science / IT or related discipline\n\n* Object oriented analysis & design experience\n\n* Excellent level of English is essential\n\n\n\n\nTECHNICAL SKILLS:\n\nEssential:\n\n\n* Knowledge of software design to ensure code is of a high standard\n\n* Ability to develop solutions for user stories by writing the code and then testing the solution\n\n* Development of code which is bug free using knowledge of Core Java\n\n* Ability to debug applications to find the root cause of issues\n\n* Industry experience working with: Java/Java EE, Junit, JMeter, Maven, ANT, GIT, SVN, BitBucket, Jenkins etc.\n\n* Experience working with Docker, Kubernetes & Helm \n\n* Fundamental understanding of web-based programming and development systems; experience with Ruby on Rails is desirable.\n\n* Knowledge in developing scalable and highly available software\n\n* Experience of working in an Agile environment with scrum software development teams\n\n* Analytical skills in order to ensure high standard of the code produced\n\n\n\n\nDesirable:\n\n\n* Java Certification such as OCA/OCP/OCM\n\n* Experience with Front-end Web Technologies like JavaScript OR AngularJS\n\n* Knowledge in building cloud native applications\n\n* Knowledge of CI/CD\n\n\n\n\nOTHER SKILLS:\n\n\n* Displays ability to collaborate with other team members in order to reach the best solution to a problem\n\n* Shows ability to prioritise issues during busy periods in order to ensure optimum performance\n\n* Shows willingness to learn from others in order to ensure that solution proposed is the best solution\n\n* Excellent communication skills\n\n* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills\n\n* Ability to work on own initiative\n\n* Ability to work consistently as part of a team in order to provide adequate support to all staff members when completing tasks\n\n* Displays ability to receive feedback in order to foster a learning environment within the workplace\n\n* Ability to work efficiently in a timely manner when solving customer issues\n\n* Ability to assist & coach new team members to maximise team performance\n\n* Displays willingness to actively listen and give full attention to what others are saying\n\n* Fosters a culture of self-improvement throughout the team\n\n\n\n\nBenefits\n\n* Remote working options -  Flexible working options - Learning & Development support - English lessons - Employee Wellness & Wellbeing - Health Insurance - Life Assurance - Pension - and more...\n\n\n\n\n \n\n#Salary and compensation\n No salary data published by company so we estimated salary based on similar jobs related to Java, Engineer, Developer and Digital Nomad jobs that are similar:\n\n $65,000 — $120,000/year\n \n\n#Location\nMonksland
