You stay organized  even when there are multiple tasks to complete.\n\n* Youโ€™re kind, collaborative, and a strong communicator; you can  successfully share, solicit, and act on  feedback.  You can sum up complex ideas and communicate them to a variety of audiences.\n\n*  You have proven cross-cultural competency skills demonstrating self-awareness, awareness of others, and the ability to adopt inclusive perspectives, attitudes, and behaviors to drive inclusion and belonging throughout an organization. \n\n\n\n\nInterest and availability \n\n\n* You relish classroom teaching, but are curious about careers in content creation within the educational technology space, and are eager to learn more through an authentic full-time summer experience.\n\n* You are available to participate in an 8-week full-time remote  internship program between the end of your 2023-24 school year and the start of your 2024-25 school year, and are also available to share out your summer work at a remote event in September of 2025.\n\n\n\n\nPERKS AND BENEFITS\nWe may be a non-profit, but we reward our talented team extremely well! Matter Labs is hiring a
Remote Research Internship

At Matter Labs, we believe freedom drives progress and prosperity. We donโ€™t see ourselves as a company, but as a team aligned around a single mission: to advance personal freedom for all (see ZK Credo).\nTo achieve this goal, weโ€™re building zkSync โ€” a credibly neutral, fully open source technology stack and network on top of Ethereum, which is owned and governed by its community. We use advanced cryptography called zero-knowledge proofs to scale Ethereum infinitely without compromising on security or decentralization. With a world-class team, a community of over 1M supporters across Twitter + Discord, and hundreds of millions $ in funding, we have abundant resources to accomplish the mission.\nThe Role\nPhD interns play a vital role in research organisations, and this significance holds particularly true in the field of blockchains, which encompasses various disciplines. At Matter Labs, our work spans a wide range of areas, including applied machine learning, applied cryptography, and numerous systems domains such as consensus, verification, compilers, and networking, among others. We are actively seeking PhD students specialising in these fields, who are enthusiastic about the prospect of their ideas finding a welcoming environment within a rapidly expanding layer-2 blockchain ecosystem.\nWhat You'll Be Doing\nAs part of your role, you will engage in conducting experiments, collaborating with academics and engineers, generating innovative ideas, and determining ways to enhance the current state of the field. This involves keeping up with the latest research published in papers and staying informed about the advancements made by dynamic startups operating in our domain. Typically, we appreciate the emergence of research papers resulting from internships at the PhD level.\nWhat We Look For in You\nWe are seeking individuals who possess pertinent expertise, as evident from their recent research outcomes like papers, and who are also enthusiastic about tackling challenges head-on until a solution is found. We are interested in individuals who strike a balance between academic excellence and a practical mindset.Working at Matter Labs\nAt Matter Labs, you have the freedom to work how you want, when you want, and from where you want. All positions are 100% remote (with optional travel to team and/or industry events). We operate in lean and nimble teams, with no time tracking and minimum bureaucracy. We move fast. Only results matter. We will provide you with everything you need to learn, grow, and be productive.\nOur results-only environment means anyone who believes in our mission can join us, regardless of background, sexual orientation, race, gender, and age. Both our team and community are made up of people from diverse backgrounds. That's why, out of politeness and respect, we refrain from opinions on politics, religion, or sex at the workplace.\nWe designed our culture around the tenants of freedom and ownership. This ethos will underpin our positive-sum community as we evolve toward full decentralization.\nIf this role resonates with you, apply now for prompt feedback.\nRead more about working at Matter Labs here.\nImportant: We are remote-first, operating in the timezones between UTC-5 (Latam and Atlantic Coast) to UTC+7 (South-East Asia). While weโ€™re currently not hiring in the US, we do consider US-based applicants willing to relocate. \n\n#Salary and compensation\n No salary data published by company so we estimated salary based on similar jobs related to Ethereum and Non Tech jobs that are similar:\n\n $67,500 — $107,500/year\n

Center for Human-Compatible Artificial Intelligence is hiring a
Remote Internship

\nOur internships require a background in mathematics and computer science. Existing research experience in machine learning is strongly advantageous but not required. We are interested in people who can demonstrate technical excellence and wish to transition to technical AI safety research. Examples include undergraduate or Master's students in computer science or adjacent fields, PhD students/researchers, professional software or ML engineers, etc. \n\nThis internship is designed for individuals who are interested in technical AI safety research. All applicants should take a look at our papers (here and here) before applying to understand CHAI's research. \nGeneral Information\n\n\nLocation: In-person (at UC Berkeley) is preferred but remote is possible.\n\nDeadline: November 13th, 2023\n\nStart Date: Flexible\n\nDuration: Internships are typically 12 to 16 weeks\n\nCompensation: $3,500 per month for remote interns. $5,000 per month for in-person interns. \n\n\nInternational Applicants: We accept international applicants\n\nRequirements:\n\n\n\nCover Letter or Research Proposal (choose one and see instructions below)\n\nResume\n\nAcademic Transcript\n\n\n\n\n\nCover Letter or Research Proposal (Choose One)\n\nThe primary purpose of the Cover Letter or Research Proposal is for us to match you to a project that interests you.\n\nMost of our interns are generally interested in technical AI safety research but do not have a specific project in mind when they start the internship. Throughout the interview process, we learn more about each intern's interests and match them with a mentor who has an existing project idea that fits the intern's skills and interests. If you do not have a particular project in mind, then we ask you to please write a Cover Letter answering the following questions:\n\n\nWhy do you want to work at CHAI as opposed to other research labs?\n\nWhat are you hoping to achieve from the internship? For example, are you seeking to improve certain research skills, contribute to a publication, test out whether AI research is a good fit for your career, or something else?\n\nWhat are your research interests in AI? For example, are you interested in RL, NLP, theory, etc?\n\n\n\n\nAlternatively, some of our interns apply to the program with a specific project or detailed research interests in mind. If this applies to you, then please write a Research Proposal describing your project and what kind of mentorship you would like to receive.\nInternship Application Process Overview\n\nThe internship application process has four phases. Please note: while we will do our best to adhere to them, all dates in the Internship Application Process Overview are subject to change.\n\n\nInitial Review (Phase 1)\n\n\n\nWe will examine your application based on motivation, research potential, grades, experience, programming ability, and other criteria.\n\nApplicants will likely receive a response by late November.\n\n\n\n\nProgramming Assessment (Phase 2)\n\n\n\nIf you pass the Initial Review Phase, then you will be given an online programming test. \n\n\nApplicants will receive a response by late December. \n\n\n\n\nInterviews (Phase 3)\n\n\n\nIf you pass the Programming Assessment, then you will be interviewed starting in early to mid January. \n\n\nCHAI has several mentors who are willing to take on interns. Each mentor that is interested in working with you will contact you to schedule an interview. It's possible that you will speak to more than one mentor during this phase if multiple mentors are interested in working with you. \n\n\n\nOffer (Phase 4)\n\n\n\nApplicants will receive offers by early to mid February. \n\nIf you are given an offer by one mentor, then you will work with that mentor if you choose to take the internship. \n\nIf you are given multiple offers from different mentors, then you will get to choose which mentor you want to work with.\n\nTypically, the internship will begin around April or May but the start date will ultimately depend on you and your mentor(s). You will have to coordinate with your mentor(s) on when to begin your internship. \n\n\n\n\n\nOther Information\n\n\nFor any questions, please contact [email protected].\n\nIn the event that your situation changes (e.g. you receive a competing offer) and you need us to respond to you sooner than you had initially thought, then please let us know.\n\n\n
