They weave Python, TypeScript, React, and CSS together to create new ways for companies to inform and engage with their customers. \n\nIn an average week, you will:\n\n- Collaborate with teammates in other functional roles, including Product Managers, Platform Engineers, and Program Managers\n- Read, understand, and write code (primarily TypeScript and Python)\n- Provide technical design input for, and development of, new features that will continue to push our messaging platform forward\n- Work with Infrastructure, QA, and other Engineers to troubleshoot issues that are escalated through Support\n- Test changes, both manually and by writing and updating unit and integration tests\n- Attend meetings with the team, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, and retrospectives\n- Work with a strong, cross-team group of WebEngineers to build a consistent and maintainable platform\n- Deploy multiple changes to production using feature flags to control end-user visibility\n\nThis job can be based everywhere in France and so to full remote status.\n\nAbout You \n- You have 5+ years of experience in an engineering role Proven experience on React/Typescript and Python (Django is a plus)\n- Established history of providing technical leadership for projects and/or teams \n- Strong communication skills (both verbally and in writing) in french and english \n- Experience using JavaScript/Typescript to build rich user interfaces \n- Your impact is maximized by the work you do through others through your mentorship, teaching, support, code review, and technical guidance. This role is broad and would be ideal for someone that likes having an impact across the whole of engineering. There are three main areas that the Infrastructure Team at Layer owns - Cloud Infrastructure, Developer Experience and SRE.\n\nCloud infrastructure\nYou will maintain 100 percent cloud-based infrastructure currently residing in AWS. We are great believers in infrastructure as code and rely heavily on Terraform and Terraform Cloud. You will work closely with the Product teams to design our infrastructure in the way the Product and the Business need it. You will help facilitate the deployment of our product services on Kubernetes (EKS)\n\nDeveloper Experience\nYou will provide tools for developers to manage our growing monorepo. These include deployment tools, our CI/CD pipelines and testing tools that make our engineers productive. We currently use Gradle (and Gradle Enterprise) heavily, Helm, CircleCI and Github Actions.\n\nSRE\nYou will maintain our observability for our production instances relying heavily on Datadog. You will help engineers integrate their services and get the metrics they need. You will also provide standardized tools for alerting and incident management.
