With a keen focus on security and scalability concerns, you will work closely with our Product Managers, Data Team Lead, and Staff Developers to design and implement the systems and processes that enable Zensurance to effectively harness our data in growing the business.\n\n\nAs an individual contributor and a subject-matter-expert, you will coach and mentor peers or professional-level developers, and assist the Engineering Leadership Team with employee training and development to continuously enhance the team's technical capabilities and delivery excellence.\n\n\nThis is a remote-first role within the GTA. #LI-Remote\n\n\n\nResponsibilities:\n* Collaborate with project stakeholders and the Data team to design, build and implement scalable, user-friendly data products using Snowflake, dbt, and Looker.\n* Lead the Data team in planning for and accommodating large migrations in upstream sources systems.\n* Collaborate with Product Management to examine, adjust and break down roadmap items into epics, and break down epics into discreet, actionable, appropriately sized tickets in the teamโ€™s backlog.\n* Oversee the planning and deployment of advanced data products (machine learning models, LLM powered applications)\n* Provide a technical perspective on organizational objectives within the teamโ€™s scope of activities. Analyze requirements, identify areas of concern, and provide recommendations based on extensive technical background.\n* Using POC models, design and implement systems and infrastructure in accordance with the teamโ€™s vision and culture.\n* Adhere to the organization's security strategy using a security-first mindset\n* Discuss various strategies and architecture, and highlight trade-offs for potential solutions.\n* Perform code reviews, ensure pull requests accurately reflect the acceptance criteria of the tickets they address.\n* Use quality metrics to identify gaps in testing strategy. As a Data Analyst, you will be tasked with transforming raw data into usable models, planning and assessing the results of A/B Tests, and assisting internal teams in building out their own reporting.\n\n\nThis role reports to the Team Lead, Data.\n\n\nThis is a remote role, and the team member can work from anywhere in Canada. #LI-Remote\n\n\n\nResponsibilities\n* Collaborating with project stakeholders and the data team to design and build scalable, user friendly systems for our customers.\n* Building and testing data models using SQL and dbt.\n* Debugging data quality issues as they arise.\n* Working with stakeholders like Product Managers, Product Analysts, and Developers, and supporting them with ad hoc analyses.\n* Following proper data architecture and development paradigms.\n* Discussing strategy and outlining tradeoffs of potential software solutions.\n* Performing data analysis to support external teams.\n* Participating in Scrum ceremonies.\n\n\n\nRequirements\n* University degree or college diploma in a recognized technical, vocational or academic program (preferably in Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering or Computer Science) or equivalent work experience.\n* 4+ years of working experience with SQL.\n* 2+ years of working experience with dbt (โ€œdata build toolโ€).\n* Experience with a cloud data warehouse (e.g. Snowflake, Redshift, Big Query).\n* Experience with a BI Tool and creating data visualizations (e.g. Looker).\n* Experience turning data into actionable insights.\n* Experience building analytical data models.\n* Able to communicate efficiently with stakeholders, both verbally and written.\n\n\n\nNice to Have\n* Experience working as part of a data team.\n* A background in Statistics.\n* Experience working with & assisting data consumers.\n* Experience working in an Agile environment.\n* Prior Insurance domain knowledge.\n* A passion for clean, reusable, and well-structured code.\n* Comfortable with ambiguity in requests.\n* Experience in working with goal setting frameworks (such as OKRs) in measuring the progress of projects.\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout our Engineering Team: \n\n\nOur fully remote engineering team fosters a learning culture that encourages professional development.
