At LaunchBrightly, we are on a mission to automate a process that continually captures and enhances screenshots of all your SaaS product features. The continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipeline and process that engineers adopted over the last decade, is what we ultimately want to build for customer support teams. TLDR; LaunchBrightly = CircleCI for customer support. And we are currently looking to bring onboard a strong Jr. Frontend Engineer / Customer Implementation Specialist.ย
Everyone at LaunchBrightly is a creator, an owner, or perhaps better, a celebration of the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. Most big companies are afraid of entrusting the future of the company and their software to a few makers, and as they defend against that, they end up with three layers of managers and a product designed by a committee. We want the opposite. We need the opposite as we enter virgin territory trying to build that CI/CD pipeline and process for the support organization. As our customer pushes a new feature to production, we automatically update all product images within the help center. This is a thrilling adventure!
Our work is remote, not distant. We believe that being a remote-first organization allows us to build an exceptional team composed of makers and sellers with diverse backgrounds and skill sets from around the globe. Our default work culture is asynchronous and emphasizes written communication to prioritize maker time, focus and company productivity. Our goal is not to eliminate face-to-face interaction, but we should default to a setting where written documentation is so strong that a meeting on most project subject matters would seem odd.ย ย
Founded in 2022, and backed by prominent venture firms including IA Ventures, Tuesday Capital, and B Capital Group, this is a unique opportunity to join this band of misfits on the ground floor. As an early teammate you will be working intimately with the founding team, who has done 0 to 1 five times over while seeing four of them come to an exit.
The Jr. Frontend Engineer / Implementation Specialist will become an integral member of an intimate 7-person team consisting of:
However, we are looking not just for an Engineer but, rather, a teammate we see as integral to LaunchBrightlyโs long-term journey and vital to our success. Someone who is comfortable in the dark and who sees a certain romance, like we do, in embracing the unknowns that come with being on the startup journey. We have a track record of seeing those colleagues who join us on the ground floor of our ventures ride the startup journey to completion (exit) with us, as we grow and become successful together. This is something we take seriously, and something we are extremely proud of!ย
Job Description
This particular role is a bit unique as your work is initially fully concentrated on setting up Screenshot Automation Recipes for customer implementations, using the current V1.0 of our Screenshot Recipe Builder (our primary customer implementation tool).ย
We are super eager to design an overall product experience that is tech forward, but non-technical knowledge managers and technical writers will love and easily be able to use. Your work will be crucial in helping us better the current implementation process, and propelling us to a place that allows non-technical users, on implementation specifically, to be able to self-serve.ย
This initial phase, fully concentrated on customer implementations, will see you setting up many hundreds of Screenshot Automation Recipes over the next N months and will involve a combination of testing, analysis, and continuous improvement to enhance the implementation experience. You will help extend the current V1.0 of our Screenshot Recipe Builder, along the following tracks:
Analyze feedback from users, evaluate comments from your fellow Engineering team members, and most of all spot inefficiencies as you set up recipes, to identify areas of improvement
Product QA to identify bugs, inconsistencies and other issues with the implementation experience (you will be using the Browser Console, custom scripts to manipulate the DOM, and our Product Screenshots and Help Center Sync API as QA tools; Postman will be your best friend for a while)
Translating your research and QA activities into detailed and well documented engineering tickets, allowing your fellow Engineering team member to easily pick up these tickets and have a head start on engineering solutions
Providing input on product design, and mini-mocks, to enhance the implementation experienceย
The success of your initial concentration on setting up Screenshot Automation Recipes will be measured on whether non-technical users become able to self-serve. We could imagine the current V1.0 of our Screenshot Recipe Builder experience being elevated to the next level, and providing a superior self-serve experience for our non-technical users within 6 months.ย
On successfully helping us take the implementation experience to this next level, through our shared good work on setting up recipes, you will move to become a full-time Jr. Frontend Engineer as a Maker alongside Jose, Lucas and Hyder. With a unique and intimate experience of the user experience having walked in their shoes setting up many hundreds of automation recipes.ย

## The big vision โจ\n\nAs a society, we spent the last decade solving delivery and bringing the physical grocery store online. What we missed is the simple fact that food was already online in the form of content in food communities, blogs and forums. In fact, food makes up a large portion of the social media content we consume today.\n\nAt Jupiter, [we are pioneering food media & content shopping in the US](https://www.winsightgrocerybusiness.com/technology/social-network-grocery), and in doing so we're building the next version of grocery shopping. In this new version, customers will create, share and shop content directly from food communities where they find affinity. They'll be able to easily plan their meals and shop for ingredients in a single click, as well as share cooking tips with others โ a 10x better way to shop that can only exist online. \n\nWe use data science and machine learning to automate the repetitive nature of grocery shopping and weโve created a social shopping experience that is unique to the world of food. Join us on our mission to build magical food experiences that are convenient, healthy & fun! \n\n[*Jupiter](http://jupiter.co) was part of Y Combinator's Summer 2019 batch, and [secured 2.8M](https://techcrunch.com/2020/06/16/jupiter-wants-to-put-grocery-delivery-on-autopilot/) from an outstanding set of investors including NFX, Khosla Ventures, Canaan Ventures, Switch Ventures, and Paul Buchheit.*\n\n## **About your role ๐ซ**\n\nAs a founding frontend engineer at Jupiter, you'll have the opportunity to make foundational decisions around building the product for scale as we grow to 100k+ users:\n\n- Making foundational decisions around the technical vision and architecture to build a beautiful cart experience that feels comfortable and effortless for our customers.\n- Working closely with the design and product teams to create product roadmaps for innovative new product flows ranging from ordering, to cooking, to data collection and post order receipts.\n- Working closely with the other engineering teams to implement product feature sets related to automation and personalization.\n- Working closely with the growth team on communicating value to the new user on sign-up, and helping to make decisions around the staged rollout of features and how the experience should fit to the new user.\n- Creating dashboards/reports to track performance of the cart and to log errors as they occur.\n- Shaping our practice as one of our early hires, bringing your experience and knowledge of best practices to establish a strong engineering culture as we prepare our stack for scale.\n\n## About you ๐ฉโ๐\n\n**You might be a great fit if you**\n\n- Have 7+ years of experience in taking customer-facing products from conception to execution, and are excited about doing so again at Jupiter\n- Have at least 5 years of experience working with JavaScript, HTML, CSS\n - Have at least 3 years of experience with either either React, VueJS or Angular\n- Have at least 3 years of experience working with a typed language\n- Love crafting beautiful user experiences\n- Care about writing clean, well-documented code and appreciate static typing\n- Have a strong systems design foundation, with a proven track record of applying best practices\n- Are ready to be an individual contributor, and have a proven track record of taking ownership to design/build sophisticated systems quickly while working in a fast-paced environment\n\n**Nice to have**\n\n- Have experience working with a typed JVM language (bonus points if Kotlin), gRPC/protobuf, Micronaut / Spring, and/or relational databases\n- Have experience working with Webflow\n- Have a proven track record of remote work \n\nPlease mention the words **INJECT CARBON INTO** when applying to show you read the job post completely (#RMy4xMzMuODMuMTIz). \nSummary\n\nWe are looking for a software engineer to join our growing team, helping build our web-based analytics platform: BRG DRIVETM. The web is an ever-changing landscape, we’re looking for someone with experience building a modern single page application, but we have no specific tech stack or years-of-experience requirements though our preference is indicated in bold.\n\nRequired Qualifications\n\n\n* Self-starter who digs in to find solutions, not just identifies problems. Enjoy working fast, breaking and fixing things, and implementing your own ideas to bring client services to the modern web.\n\n* A desire to work remotely while traveling occasionally for team gatherings, client-specific work and “devcations” where product development takes place.\n\n* Hold an ESTA eligible passport to enable travel with short notice\n\n* Authorized to work in the US\n\n* Experience enhancing and working with a full-stack web application\n\n* Knowledge of one or more frameworks for the frontend (ex. VueJs, React, Angular)\n\n\n\n\nIdeal Qualifications\n\n\n* ~1-2 years of relevant work experience in software development\n\n* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or similar technical field of study\n\n* Experience in software development using a general-purpose programming language (e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript, PHP, Go, etc)\n\n* Knowledge of one or more frameworks for the backend (ex. Django, Flask, Laravel, Ruby On Rails, Express, Spring)\n\n* Familiarity with SQL databases and designing application table structures\n\n* Basic version control (ex. Git), networking, and cloud experience related to application deployment\n\n* Knowledge of CI/CD techniques and implementations\n\n* Knowledge of Linux and Docker\n\n* Experience integrating 3rd party software into an existing stack\n\n\n\n\nThe Role\n\nIn this role your programming skills will be challenged by potentially any industry and many different issues that causes problems for our clients. You will work with our team of data scientists, subject matter experts, and other experienced coders to develop digital solutions for clients across the world by taking what they have learned or conceptualized and coding it into an implementable reality. While we solve these problems, we dev together, we play together, and we support you to find the time for your family, non-work fun, and your passion – whatever it may be. \n\nWith us you will\n\n\n* Architect solutions that help solve the most pressing issues for companies across the globe implementing elegant and well-documented code.\n\n* Make our platform, BRG DRIVETM an increasingly more competitive and compelling solution by championing and implementing new ideas and features.\n\n* Provide an active, creative and knowledgeable voice during project roadmap and strategy brainstorming discussions.\n\n* Create new features by designing and implementing proof of concepts and coordinating the final implementations.\n\n* Make sure our code is clean and elegant by collaborating with the team during code review to maintain standards and code base knowledge.\n\n* Dev your passion into reality. GAT believes in giving you time to chase after something that interests you even if it doesn’t make a direct or immediate impact to our work as we believe it provides innovation and inspiration into all that we do.\n\n* Learn far more than you knew before you started working with the team and share those insights with the team.\n\n\n\n\nAbout you\n\n\n* Be a committed team player who works well with various stakeholders to ensure the best outcome.\n\n* Flexible and creative enough to accept that client needs can be very different, and they change. You thrive – not cringe—at this reality and enjoy finding a way to work in the confines and the requirements of such a technical solution.\n\n* Have strong spoken and written communication skills including the ability to talk to non-dev people and explain what you are doing and why you do it the way you do.\n\n* Have a passion for learning new things and pushing the envelope.\n\n* Taking pride in own work and demonstrating attention to detail.\n\n\n\n\nWhat is on the table\n\n\n* Competitive salary and benefits package\n\n* Working as part of a remote and dynamic DevOps team\n\n* Several “devcations” a year (pandemic permitting), held in different cities around the world, where you assemble with the DevOps team (and others depending on the need) to scope new features, and enhancements that build the revenue potential and scalability of BRG DRIVETM \n\n* Custom remote working travel kit to allow a flexible lifestyle\n\n* Yearly training and certification budget\n\n\n \n\n#Salary and compensation\n
