Remote Senior Manager SDET

\nJob Title: Senior Manager, SDET\n\nLocation: 7322 Southwest Freeway, Suite 1200, Houston, TX 77074\n\nJob Description: Test and verify the quality and reliability of software to support Beyond Financeโ€™s internal applications and consumer-facing web applications, as well as the implementation of modern agile best practices and fully automated CI/CD pipelines. Focus on advancing the overall SDET team, tools, and processes. Lead system and testing improvement efforts and work closely with Software Engineers to deliver new functionality. Utilize Ruby on Rails, RSpec, and Capybara to develop test framework for writing automation tests. Lead automation effort across multiple teams, including mobile automation support using Selenium, Appium, and Continuous Integration (such as Jenkins) to find and close requirements gaps and create test plans in collaboration with Product Management. Investigate and resolve complex bugs in unfamiliar code and identify and propose solutions to process inefficiencies. Regularly update repos and application frameworks for supporting tools and proactively investigate testing and tooling issues. Design and deliver page objects and other gems to aid in testing, ensure properly tested releases, and monitor and verify testing results. Maintain code pipelines and write complex SQL queries to validate data changes or troubleshoot issues. Oversee Quality Assurance in the Release When Ready model and ensure Quality Assurance contributes to testing coverage in a timely manner. Research and evaluate new engineering trends and tools. Mentor other SDETs along career paths and handle personnel matters. A Day In The Life:

You will likely start the day with a quick check in with your team. That might lead to a conversation with a member of our product group and a member of our sales team about a feature you are building for a specific customer segment. Several PRs and deploys later, you are ready to enable that feature for a test customer. You follow up with the customer and make sure everything is working as planned. Once it is ready, you turn on the feature flag and celebrate. Now itโ€™s time to talk to the team about whatโ€™s coming up next.

To do this, you will work in a mixture of Ruby (with Sorbet in places), Elm, C# and TypeScript. After CI, you use a single click deploy to our autoscaling Kuberetes cluster. We're also using Rails, Sorbet, React, Postgresql, Redis, Docker, and more. Additionally, we have a strong interest in functional programming languages like Haskell, OCaml, and Elixir. While these are the tools we're currently using, you don't need to have previous experience with all of them. We know that good developers are capable of quickly picking up new languages and tools.
