Remote Customer Success Manager

\nAbout Customer Success\n\nThe Customer Success team focuses on supporting our current customers as their businesses grow and their needs change. We do this through proactive outreach to our customers during key moments in their lifecycle to drive more adoption and longer lifetimes with Gusto.\n\nWe are looking for a CSM to join our Customer Success team at Gusto. You will work with our existing customers to drive customer education and feature adoption, integrations with our partners, maintain customer satisfaction, and increase retention. You will rapidly test hypotheses that will help develop and create processes for our growing team. Together we help solve our customersโ€™ pain points by educating our current customers about the full value Gusto brings to small businesses. Our customersโ€™ success is Gustoโ€™s success.  \n\nHereโ€™s what youโ€™ll do day-to-day:\n\n\n* Proactive outreach to current customers through outbound calls and email communication in the moments that matter. This might be a touchpoint in a customerโ€™s first 90 days with Gusto, or a call to educate them on features they might not know about.\n\n\n\n\n\n* Use your deep Gusto product knowledge and Sandler skills to help our current customers adopt the features they need to support their business needs\n\n* Gather and share insights from your calls: What are some themes weโ€™re hearing from our customers? What can we learn? What can we do better?\n\n* Represent the voice of the customer! You will fuel the feedback engine to inform our sales processes, our product roadmap, and help shape Gusto to be the product of our customersโ€™ dreams.\n\n* Use your communication and partnership skills to educate cross functional stakeholders and compel action\n\n\n\n\nHereโ€™s what we're looking for:\n\n\n* 2-4 years experience in high-volume customer facing roles (Customer Care, Customer Success, Account Manager, Sales Development Representative), preferably in the tech industry.\n\n* Outbound calling experience highly preferred \n\n* Passionate about helping small business owners achieve more success through empathetic and consultative conversations.\n\n* Comfort with ambiguity and willingness to experiment as we continue to build this team\n\n* Exceptional communication skills with the ability to explain complex topics like payroll and R&D tax credits in an easy-to-understand way.\n\n* Analytic and strategic thinker with the ability to translate individual conversations into themes and recommendations \n\n* Energized by learning new skills to do the best work of your life\n\n* Experience with Salesforce preferred \n\n\n\n\nAt Gusto, we strive to provide rewards that empower employees to achieve their financial and personal goals. The main objective of this role is to proactively collaborate with Varicentโ€™s Finance, Sales Operations, Customer Success, and Professional Services Teams, and External Customers to ensure all information needed to bill customers are received and processed on a timely basis to avoid delays in receiving payments from customers.  \nThis role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with various teams. \n\n\nThis is a full-time position at our Toronto office (Yonge & 401). This is a remote-first (WFH) position that is expected to come to the office at least once a month, in addition to any team meetings that may be required. However, you are encouraged to come more frequently when your schedule permits. \n\n\n\nWhat You Will Do: \n* Proactive Customer PO Management: \n* New SaaS Customers: Where Purchase Order numbers are required, coordinate with customers during their onboarding phase to ensure Purchase orders are obtained and passed on to Varicentโ€™s billing team before invoices are generated and sent out.  \n* Existing SaaS Customers: Collaborate with Customer Success Managers to proactively reach out to customers 60 days before their next billing date to ensure that the customer information and purchase orders in Salesforce and NetSuite are complete and accurate prior to the billing date to avoid delays in billing and collections. \n* Professional Services business: Work with Varicentโ€™s Professional Services operations team and project directors to ensure purchase orders are made available before invoicing. \n* New Customer - Finance Onboarding:  \n* Obtain a clear understanding of customerโ€™s billing policies and procedures, as well as gain access to the necessary tools used by customers to manage their accounts.  \n* Design a standard Customer Onboarding Checklist to be used to gather all information needed to be able to accurately bill customers and ensure the information is accurately reflected in Salesforce and NetSuite \n* Send the Customer Onboarding Checklist to the appropriate customer contact, through close collaboration with Regional Sales Managers.  \n* Collaborate with Customers to ensure Varicent is appropriately set up in their database as a Vendor. \n* Maintain a list of customers that require Tax Residency Certificates for billing purposes and proactively request such information 30-60 days prior to invoices being generated. \n* Effectively communicate all customer billing requirements to the Finance Team to avoid delays in sending invoices.  \n* Manage Accounts Receivables and Collections for Varicentโ€™s EMEA portfolio: \n* Collaborate with Sales and Customer Success teams to perform AR collection activities.  \n* Perform cash application and credit notes activities daily.  \n\n\n\nWhat You Will Bring: \n* Post-secondary education in Business, Finance, or related fields \n* 3-5 years of overall experience in the order to cash cycle which includes billing, collections, cash applications and customer administration.  \n* Experience using ERP software and intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel \n* Experience partnering with cross-functional stakeholders to drive results. \n* Strong interpersonal and effective communication skills \n* Collaborative: Must have the confidence and willingness to work up and down the organization. \n* Proactive: Anticipate issues in processes before they become problems \n* Exceptional problem solving and conflict resolution abilities.  \n* Customer-Centric: Dedication to ensuring positive customer experience. \n* Must be resourceful, self-motivated have a proven track record of taking on end to end ownership and delivering results in a fast-paced and high-growth business environment. \n* Experience with NetSuite, Salesforce, Deal Hub preferred \n\n\n\n\n\nVaricent is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
