Remote Senior Full Stack Engineer

About Tarjimly: Tarjimly is a 501c3 nonprofit established in 2017 with a mission to eliminate language barriers for refugees, immigrants, and humanitarians. We accomplish this through our Tarjimly mobile app, connecting individuals with a vast network of 50,000+ volunteer translators for on-demand language support. Our team is global, passionate, and operates entirely remotely, dedicated to making a significant impact in the lives of those we serve. Our goal is to continue enhancing our product infrastructure and user experience to meet these challenges.

Our engineering team includes CTO, Aziz, Lead Engineer, Ismail, and three Software Engineers Ifeanyi, Jonathan, & Chibuike, who work closely with a proactive outbound team to address the needs of refugees and humanitarians worldwide.

About the Role

This role requires collaborating with our engineering team to enhance the Tarjimly Mobile Application, resolving critical bugs, and integrating key features requested from the field. We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated senior full-stack engineer who is passionate about our mission. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working remotely in a global team setting, display initiative, and maintain a strong focus on quality.

  • Location: Fully Remote (worldwide applicants welcome)
  • Contract: Full-time (40 hours/week), 6-month contract with long-term extension based on performance
  • Compensation: Competitive, based on experience and location
  • Working Hours: Flexible, with a requirement for daily standup participation
  • Start Date: Flexible for the right candidates

Responsibilities

  • Lead and collaborate in the full-stack development of the mobile application
  • Resolve critical bugs to enhance app growth and adoption
  • Implement key features such as video calling, document translation interface, and improved user interface
  • Drive the migration to new APIs and elevate the app to a higher production quality
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team knowledge sharing

But donโ€™t worry, you wonโ€™t have to do it alone.\n\nPLEASE APPLY IF ONLY YOU ARE INTERESTED IN A FULL TIME POSITION - NO OUTSOURCE ARTISTS OR STUDIOS.\n\nJob Description\n\nAs a Lead Cinematics Artist you will be responsible for managing and mentoring Cinematics Team and be a key player on creating high-quality believable Sci-Fi world.\n\nResponsibilities\n\n\n* Build and lead the cinematic team in development of high quality cinematics,\n\n* Provide feedback to the team, mentor for the best practices\n\n* Create, and maintain pipelines and technical requirements,\n\n* Plan, organize and prioritize tasks with the Producer\n\n* Track the creation process, identify problems and find solutions\n\n* Collaborate with Animations Lead to improve development of motion capture and keyframe animation into the cinematic,\n\n* Communicate and work closely with the Art and Level Design teams to translate scripted scenes into cinematics and to balance story with gameplay,\n\n* Share knowledge and collaborate with technical Leads in order to improve the quality of the tools.\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSkills & Requirements\n\n\n* Minimum 4+ years of experience working in the video games as an Artist, Animator, Designer, or any other related job,\n\n* A strong knowledge of storytelling, film language, and cinematography techniques,\n\n* Experience with 3D softwares (Motionbuilder, Maya, Unreal Engine, etc.),\n\n* Unreal Engine & AA+ game experience\n\n* Excellent leadership and people skills,\n\n* Excellent communication skills and teamwork oriented attitude,\n\n* Excellent organizational skills,\n\n* Good understanding of acting, including posing and timing,\n\n* Strong knowledge of cinematics, framing, editing, tone, and narrative structure,\n\n* Excellent communication skills,\n\n* Experience with motion capture\n\n* Staying up-to-date on industry trends\n\n* Fluent in English, both verbally and written\n\n\n\n\nIf you are interested in creating something new in game development space, this is your chance to be part of something huge!
