Responsibilities

• Ensure the reliability of infrastructure supporting mission-critical services, minimizing downtime and optimizing performance.

• Proactively monitor, respond to, diagnose and resolve incidents, improving response time and minimizing customer impact.

• Work closely with Russian speaking Developers, QA and System Analysts.

• Enhance CI/CD pipelines, monitoring tools, and automation processes to streamline workflows and increase system efficiency.

• Keep infrastructure-related documentation up to date.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience with a proven track record of maintaining high-availability infrastructure in a high-load environment.

• Expertise in Linux systems and web stacks (Nginx, PHP, MySQL/MariaDB, Redis/KeyDB) to ensure smooth and efficient operation.

• Strong experience with MySQL/MariaDB Galera cluster and Gluster storage to optimize data reliability and scalability.

Tech Stack:

Our tech stack is 100% TypeScript, allowing the team to implement end-to-end functionality. On the front end we’re using NextJS for our Web App and React Native for our Mobile App. Our API is provided over a GraphQL interface and interfaces with a PostgreSQL database via Prisma.

Our infrastructure stack is currently utilizing Github Actions, Google Cloud Run, Redis and Postgres. In this infrastructure transformation we are migrating our systems to infrastructure as code using Pulumi, refactoring our monorepo build systems to utilize esbuild and nx.dev, improving our Github Actions pipeline performance, shifting our deployment to Kubernetes on GKE, standing up NATS.io for cloud / edge messaging, and implementing in depth monitoring and metrics through DataDog. After this initial transformation is complete we will continue to iterate by deploying custom hardware at the edge at each of our properties and connecting that into our cloud network.

B2U Storage Solutions, Inc. (B2U) develops and operates large scale battery energy storage systems (ESS) utilizing EV batteries in stationary storage applications. B2U uses patented technology to deliver a 40%+ cost advantage and a superior Levelized Cost of Storage (LCOS) over competing systems. B2U’s hybrid ESS facility in Lancaster, CA has been operational since March 2020. B2U closed a $10M Series investment led by Marubeni Corp. in September 2021. 

Job Description

The Information Technology Project Manager will manage initiatives to enhance and evolve the company’s information systems architecture and interfaces between site-based systems and the cloud. This position requires both project management and direct hands-on database management, configuration and development. Responsibilities will include:

• Managing internal and third-party resources with a primary initiative underway to migrate to Microsoft Azure and IoT Edge platform from GCP; work conducted by IT consulting firm
• Manage company's Azure based information systems where project manager needs ability to work directly with database
• Supporting company’s business intelligence capabilities to enhanced reporting and analytics capabilities. Company currently migrating from use of Qlik to Power BI
• Evolving deployment of ticketing system for company’s TechOps personnel
• Interfacing with the market facing systems that automate resource scheduling in wholesale markets
• Close collaboration with Engineering on system diagnostics and real time dashboard capabilities for functional testing
• Overseeing/Communicating with third party technology providers (e.g. SCADA consultants)

Qualifications and Experience

• 5+ years in some combination of Software Engineering and IT Project Management
• Bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science or related field.
