Proficiency in incident, change, and problem management processes. Skilled in problem-solving, root cause analysis, and optimization. Experience with streaming data infrastructure services, such as Kafka and Spark. Your strong software engineering skills will support mission critical decision analytics for renewable and battery storage power providers around the globe. \n\nJob Responsibilities \n\n\nDesign and write clean, scalable, production code (our backend team primarily works in Python, and our frontend team works primarily in JavaScript) \n\nRefactor code for improved performance, stability, and scalability \n\nDevelop automatic tests (such as unit and integration tests) and deployment scripts \n\nImplement systems for collecting, storing, and working with data at scale \n\nWork with our team of analysts and data scientists to integrate and generalize prototype mathematical and data science models within production software \n\nCommunicate clearly and effectively (orally and in writing) with both technical and nontechnical stakeholders \n\nMentor and guide junior engineers \n\nContribute to scoping and design discussions \n\nThis position involves working collaboratively both within your software team and outside with the front-end software engineers, data scientists, and technical sales team. The software development team follows an agile scrum process, and all team members are expected to contribute to technical design reviews, implementation strategies, operational system support, and sprint planning. \n\n\n\n\nRequired Qualifications\n\n\nBS or MS in Engineering, Computer Science, Data/Information Science, Physics, Operations Research, Statistics, Economics, or Power Systems \n\n5+ years as a back-end software engineer \n\n\n\n\nPreferred Qualifications\n\n\nDemonstrated academic or professional software coding experience in one or more of the following languages: Python, Ruby, .NET, Java, C++, C#, Kotlin, Rust, or Javascript, including object-oriented design \n\nFamiliarity with data processing in Python (including Pandas, Numpy, Sympy, Scikit-Learn) is strongly preferred \n\nExperience designing and developing full-stack applications and RESTful web services \n\nFamiliarity or exposure to cloud computing platforms and ecosystems, e.g., Azure, AWS, and containerization, e.g., Docker \n\nData Science, including statistics, machine learning, and data visualization \n\nReferential databases, such as SQL Server, Oracle, or PostgreSQL \n\nAbility to communicate with impact and confidence, both orally and in writing \n\nStrong interpersonal skills, teamwork skills, and work ethic \n\nKnowledge of wholesale electricity markets; passion for renewables and storage \n\nExperience with code review, architecture, development, and promotion processes \n\n\n\n\nCompensation: $100,000 - $150,000 \n\nNegotiable based on qualifications and experience.
