Our mandate is to provide secure, flexible and stable platform solutions that empower our feature development teams to create the highest quality services for our customers.\n\nNOTE: This role can be worked remotely from the above location.\n\nWhat You'll Do as a Site Reliability Engineer\n\n\n* Develop, deploy, and operate cloud-native infrastructure in support of FreshBooks’ SaaS platform\n\n* Bring a mindset of standards and best practices to help create observability solutions that the team team wants to adopt\n\n* Participate in an on-call rotation\n\n* Drive a culture of automation, both within the team and throughout the organization, to scale FreshBooks efficiently and reliably\n\n* Participate in technical discussions to aid system design, analysis, and troubleshooting\n\n* Help engineering teams to develop, test, debug and release scalable, resilient and highly available cloud-native applications\n\n\n\n\nWhat You'll Bring to the Role\n\n\n* Expert English Proficiency (Written, Spoken, Heard)\n\n* 2+ years of experience with implementation, operations, and maintenance of cloud services\n\n* An understanding of the importance of a strong feedback loop with other teams and individuals across the organization\n\n* Exposure to cloud-native approaches to security concerns\n\n* Hands-on experience with containers or container orchestration technologies such as: Kubernetes, Docker\n\n* Experience working with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform\n\n* Some experience working with one or more monitoring and observability tools such as: DataDog, Prometheus, Grafana\n\n* Have assisted in identifying the root causes of production incidents, and worked with incident teams to restore service(s)\n\n\n\n\nYou'll Stand Out If You Bring Experience In\n\n\n* Experience in building systems in a microservice environment, understanding the basic building blocks of resilient and scalable software\n\n* Experience with Google Cloud Platform\n\n* Experience with message brokers such as RabbitMQ\n\n* Experience with web applications developed in Python or Ruby\n\n* Knowledge or experience in any of the following: web/network protocols, security, data persistence, and CI/CD pipelines\n\n* An understanding of modern software development practices: TDD/BDD, hexagonal design, etc.\n\n* An understanding of Linux primitives: process scheduling, signals, namespaces, authentication/authorization, etc.\n\n\n\nOur Commitments to You\n\nAt FreshBooks each person knows their opinion is valued, and can see their impact on the lives of over 10 million small business owners around the world.
