🤝 Integrating with 3rd-party providers of lending services APIs to generate documents/disclosures, produce automated underwriting results, or prevent fraud.
🏗 Architecting, building, and launching the next generation of our job processing infrastructure on AWS to make LoanCrate's back end more observable and reliable.
Tech stack
Nearly all of our code is written in TypeScript. We use React on the frontend, Node/Express on the backend (running inside Docker), GraphQL/Apollo on both sides, and Postgres as our database. We use AWS (ECS, RDS, ElastiCache, SNS, and more) and manage all of our infrastructure with Terraform.
We believe that high engineering velocity drives high product velocity (and, in turn, our success as a company 😄). Keeping this in mind, we've invested heavily in creating a great developer experience that enables engineers to ship fast. Some highlights of our stack:
↔️ End-to-End Type Safety - We generate TypeScript types from our Postgres and GraphQL schemas so that when we change our database schema we see type errors in any incompatible frontend React components.
🌎 Full-Stack Code Sharing - Our build tooling supports seamless sharing of TypeScript files between the client, server, and other packages in our mono-repo so that we never have to define functions or configuration values twice.
🏠 Reproducible Infrastructure - We’ve used Terraform to manage 100% of our infrastructure since day 1 and have configured our CI pipeline to automatically deploy temporary staging environments for every pull request. We use these per-PR environments to get feedback from teammates and test any infrastructure changes using infrastructure that's identical to production.
🧪 First Class Testing Utilities - We have a comprehensive library of utilities that mock production-like data and feed automated end-to-end, integration, and performance tests. Our wide-ranging test suite allows us to move fast while maintaining nearly perfect uptime.

🤝 Integrating with 3rd-party providers of lending services APIs to generate documents/disclosures, produce automated underwriting results, or prevent fraud.
🏗 Architecting, building, and launching the next generation of our job processing infrastructure on AWS to make LoanCrate's back end more observable and reliable.
Tech stack
Nearly all of our code is written in TypeScript. We use React on the frontend, Node/Express on the backend (running inside Docker), GraphQL/Apollo on both sides, and Postgres as our database. We use AWS (ECS, RDS, ElastiCache, SNS, and more) and manage all of our infrastructure with Terraform.
We believe that high engineering velocity drives high product velocity (and, in turn, our success as a company 😄). Keeping this in mind, we've invested heavily in creating a great developer experience that enables engineers to ship fast. Some highlights of our stack:
↔️ End-to-End Type Safety - We generate TypeScript types from our Postgres and GraphQL schemas so that when we change our database schema we see type errors in any incompatible frontend React components.
🌎 Full-Stack Code Sharing - Our build tooling supports seamless sharing of TypeScript files between the client, server, and other packages in our mono-repo so that we never have to define functions or configuration values twice.
🏠 Reproducible Infrastructure - We’ve used Terraform to manage 100% of our infrastructure since day 1 and have configured our CI pipeline to automatically deploy temporary staging environments for every pull request. We use these per-PR environments to get feedback from teammates and test any infrastructure changes using infrastructure that's identical to production.
🧪 First Class Testing Utilities - We have a comprehensive library of utilities that mock production-like data and feed automated end-to-end, integration, and performance tests. Our wide-ranging test suite allows us to move fast while maintaining nearly perfect uptime.

Our core UK-based team is mostly in London with one of us in Bristol. The roles within the team are Lead Engineer, Senior Engineer, 2 Engineers and our Engineering Manager. Everyone in the department is required to attend the office a minimum of two days per month, but during your onboarding we find it easiest if you’re in the office every week.\n\n \n\nThe Role\n\nThis role offers the opportunity to work in an agile team where you can learn and contribute to the whole development life cycle: planning, design, implementation, testing, documentation, deployment and maintenance.\n\nYou will help to build new features and integrations with third party marketing partner APIs. You will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to plan these features and get input during development. Our newer codebases are written in TypeScript using Node & React and our older codebases are written in PHP. Skills:

Key Responsibilities
Use Typescript and Frameworks (React, Express) to build and maintain new websites and landing pages

Collaborate with product, marketing, and support stakeholders to optimise and improve our customer’s digital experience
Work with the wider engineering team to support backend services and APIs (REST API, CMS, Payment Gateways, CRM)

Key Skills and Experience
A degree in Engineering, Computer Science or a related field or equivalent experience
Significant experience in modern web technologies, including Typescript, Node.js, Express, and React

Familiarity with UX/UI concepts and a passion for good user experience
Solid understanding of how web applications work including security, session management, and best development practices
Experience working in a fast-paced agile environment. Prior exposure to working in a remote, global team is highly regarded.

Overview
The Rise web app is written in TypeScript using React and Mobx. It is using websockets to receive real-times updates from the backend. We are looking for a frontend engineer to take the web app to the next level.
What you'll be working on
As an early engineer you'll work on many different aspects of the product. A few examples:
Improvements to our Rise cmd-K Command Center: enable users to quickly navigate and manage their calendars from one uniform component
Work with our backend team to define a scalable and extensible API
Improve the app reliability by applying different types of test coverage (integration, unit, etc)
