Venturerock is hiring a
Remote Lead Developer

\nAbout Venturerock\n\nVenturerock is an early-stage digital venture capital platform and ecosystem of founders, backers & builders.\n\nTogether, we have transformed the venture capital model into a venture building model, to build & grow tech companies into global tech leaders. We have combined technology and our experience in accelerating 700+ startups to design our own investment protocol. Our founder team has been part of companies like Just-Eat, iChoosr, Exact, Relayr to mention a few. We invest in multiple rounds from pre-seed to scale, through a metered and auditable process.\n\n\n\n\nResponsibilities for this Lead developer role for "Drop-ET":\n\nYou will use our blueprint to build, measure, learn and pivot your way to aย profitable and thriving company. This does not mean everything is set in stone because our founders will need to put their own stamp on everything they're doing. Later, you'll assemble a dedicated team and define a unique company culture.\n\n\n\n\n\nSome technical founder activities include:\n\n\n* Design and build the technical blueprint of the company;\n\n* Building the (cloud) infrastructure;\n\n* Product development;\n\n* Managing every technical detail;\n\n* Build and hire a development team;\n\n* Scaling the operation.\n\n\n\n\nOf course, there is more to do, but you donโ€™t have to do it all by yourself. You'll be accompanied by a co-founder to take on this great challenge. Also, our FoundersLAB is available to support you during the first rough months.ย \n\n\n\n\nProblem Statement:\n\nDrop-ETย is a Smart Logistics Platform for the APAC countries. Due to enormous growth in e-commerce A-Brands have been hijacking all delivery capacity in India. Delivery companies are overbooked, and the rest of the non-A brand e-commerce companies donโ€™t have access to reliable delivery.\n\n\n\n\nWith Drop-ET we help delivery companies and medium-sized e-commerce companies get in control again. We are developing a fully equipped delivery EV, attainable for everyone. No CAPEX, everyone can immediately start as a delivery agent and they only pay-per-use. This delivery EV is connected to our platform, this means better routes, extra orders and collecting POI data during your Drop-ET rides. This amazing adventure still has some essential seats left. Do you want to hop on board of our EV and join our journey to a smarter Indian transport\n\necosystem?\n\n\n\n* You have 5+ experience as a full-stack developer (i.e. front-end and back-end);\n\n* Strong experience with modern JavaScript (ES2017), Node.js, HTML,\n\n* CSS/SCSS, REACT as a framework and composition.\n\n* Experience with Restful API design, containerization (mostly docker), microservices, event-driven architecture, cloud architecture and understanding of data structures and algorithms.\n\n* Working in a fast-paced Continuous Integration & Deployment environment gets you excited.\n\n* Enforce code quality through Test-Driven Development and linting.\n\n* You know how Git works.\n\n* Youโ€™re proud of your work and welcome all feedback.\n\n* You are experienced in developing, testing, shipping and maintaining products under pressure;\n\n* Youโ€™re self-learning, independent, and have excellent problem-solving skills.\n\n* Working with Scrum/Agile working is second nature to you.\n\n\n \n\n#Salary and compensation\n No salary data published by company so we estimated salary based on similar jobs related to Design, React, JavaScript, Cloud, Git, API and Digital Nomad jobs that are similar:\n\n $70,000 — $120,000/year\n \n\n#Location\nRemote job

Our teams use modern, agile methods to design and engineer government systems that connect Veterans with services, bring affordable health care to millions of people, and support important programs like Head Start. And as we work to make critical government services intuitive, accessible, and human-centered, weโ€™re also changing how the government thinks about and uses technology. If you thrive on change, want to help close the gap between consumer expectations and government services, and can see the possibilities in ambiguity, then we want you here with us. \n\nWhat matters most\nAd Hoc operates according to our commitment to inclusivity, acceptance, accountability, and humility. We prioritize building teams that represent the diversity of the people our government serves. We love the challenge of government-size projects. We want to bring skills to federal agencies, help them better meet the needs of their users, and close the gap between consumer expectations and government. \n\nBuilt for a remote life\nAd Hoc is remote-first and remote-always. We partner with the Office of the Chief Technology Officer - Digital Experience, the Office of Information Technology, Veterans Health Administration and Veterans Benefits Administration to design and deliver seamless user experiences for Veterans, their Families and Caregivers and VA employees.  By applying better practices in service design, product management and technology, we enable VA to increase the usage, throughput, quality and reliability of services and decrease the time Veterans spend waiting for outcomes.\nWhat youโ€™ll do\n\nOur ideal Full Stack, QA Engineer will create test documents, including test plans and test summary reports.  They will have a thorough understanding of QA testing environments/tools, and software development life cycles.  As a Full Stack, QA Engineer you will be able to:\n\n\nShipping software that impacts the lives of millions of people\n\nUsing modern programming languages and frameworks to build scalable services that gracefully integrate with legacy systems\n\nBuilding and working with APIs to support both the digital services we deliver as well as third-party usage\n\nUsing unit and integration testing to ensure systems work as intended\n\nHelping us continuously, iteratively improve\n\n\n\nWhat we hope you'll bring\n\n\nMinimum 5 years of experience developing consumer-facing web applications, services, and APIs\n\nStrong experience with JavaScript and Ruby\n\nExperience with cross browser testing tools\n\nExperience with automation testing tools such as Cypress or Selenium (preferred)\n\nExperience with GitHub Actions, CI/CD process tools such as Jenkins or CircleCI\n\nExperience analyzing bugs\n\nExperience with manual testing, browser testing.\n\nExperience with documenting test plans\n\nExperience with Rest API development and maintenance\n\nExperience collaborating with external teams and stakeholders\n\nExperience and understanding of at least one agile methodology such as Scrum, XP, or SAFe.\n\nExperience with Amazon Web Services, in particular EC2, S3, and RDS.(preferred)\n\nExceptional attention to details\n\nSolid spelling, grammar, and communication skills.\n\n\n\nMore than that, our ideal candidate wants to contribute to work that is bigger than themselves and wants to make a difference collaborating with their team. They believe in intuitive, easy-to-use government services. They collaborate well with designers, stakeholders, and other teams. They mentor and guide more junior engineers. Theyโ€™re human-centered.\n\nAnd if you donโ€™t check every box on the list? That doesnโ€™t mean you canโ€™t help us in our mission to deliver critical government services. Angi is hiring a
Remote Senior Software Engineer .NET Core

\nNote that prospective candidates will be under consideration for a role at CraftJack, an affiliate of Angi.\n\nWe are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our engineering team at CraftJack to help us build great products.  We will look to you as an important member of our small team as we tackle important challenges to keep our technology ahead of the curve.  CraftJackโ€™s products reach millions of consumers and professionals in the ever-expanding, increasingly competitive home improvement services industry. We are a fully remote company and if youโ€™re ready to work with a dedicated team focused on cutting edge technological solutions, please join us!.\n\nWhat is the vision for this role?\n\nWe are a small team of experienced Engineers (software, QA, and DevOps) and are looking for someone with expertise in how we can better support our business through software craftsmanship.  CraftJack is growing and we want to tackle problems before they happen and invest in our future.  A great fit for this role is someone who is ready to take an active part in architecting and building solutions using SOLID principles that can help our team produce software more efficiently and reliably. \n\nWhat are we looking for?\n\n\n* 5+ years of software development experience focused on application development.\n\n* An in-depth understanding of Microsoft web application stack; .NET Core and C#.\n\n* A solid understanding of unit testing, TDD, and automated testing. We canโ€™t stress this enough!\n\n* Experience working with databases using SQL and migrations (no stored procedures).\n\n* Experience developing for distributed systems (NServiceBus), message queues, caching (Redis) and web sockets (SignalR).\n\n* Comprehensive understanding of AWS tools like Lambda, API Gateway, and DynamoDB.\n\n* Familiar with one or more CSS, HTML, and Javascript frameworks -- preferably Bootstrap and Foundation.\n\n* Experience using a Javascript client-side MVC/MVVM framework -- preferably Angular2 or React.\n\n* Familiar with software development methodologies; including Agile and Scrum.\n\n* Have the skill and patience to craft semantic HTML and CSS to meet responsive design and cross-browser requirements.\n\n* Exposure to using source control systems and workflows in a small team environment - preferably with Git and Gitflow.\n\n* Be driven and positive with the ability to thrive and deliver in a fast-paced, innovative and creative environment.\n\n\n\n\nWhat is the team like?\n\n\n* We want to use the best tool for the jobโ€ฆ if there is something better then let's try it.\n\n* We are Agile and work in two-week sprints.\n\n* We are disciplined when it comes to testing. We have a large suite of automated tests covering our web, backend, and mobile applications. \n\n* We want to have fun at work. Work hard, play hard.\n\n* We spend time to train new people who join the team and adjust how we work together via retrospectives.\n\n\n\n\nWhat would be my career trajectory?\n\nAs a company we have a very flat hierarchy.  Your direct manager will be Ryan Ferretti (https://www.linkedin.com/in/ryanferretti) and his boss is our CEO, Chris Brown (https://www.linkedin.com/in/brown784).  If you care about building experience by releasing great software, accomplishing goals, and learning new things, this is the right place for you.  If you care about titles and meetings, this is not the right place for you.  Our belief is there will always be โ€œthe next jobโ€ so push yourself to learn and grow in the time you are here.\n\nWhat is work like at CraftJack?\n\nCraftJack is an emerging online referral service that is an operating brand of Angi, the leading online marketplace helping homeowners and home service professionals connect.\n\nThink of CraftJack as a startup without all of the risks: no late (or missed) paychecks, no need to find your own expensive health insurance plan, no working for a tiny fraction of your market value. It also means no corporate atmosphere with strict dress code, no watered-down coffee, and no stuffy bureaucracy to drown out your ideas. We value every team member and if we hire you, itโ€™s because we think you can do great things with us.\n\nWe arenโ€™t going to sugar-coat everything.  We have our challenges like every other business.  Where we separate ourselves is having the willingness and motivation to take our challenges head-on before they grow.\n\nWhere is the office?\n\nWe are a fully remote company but also understand the importance of having a space to collaborate when necessary.  We have a space in the Merchandise Mart in downtown Chicago that we will be moving into once the pandemic subsides.  We have been fully remote since March 2020, so this role will continue to be remote first.  We have a take-as-you-need vacation policy because we know how important it is for everyone to be refreshed when they come to work.\n\nCompensation & Benefits:\n\n\n* The salary band for this position ranges from $95,000 - $115,000 based on experience and interview performance. Compensation may vary based on factors such as cost of living\n\n* This position will be eligible for a competitive year end performance bonus\n\n* Full medical, dental, vision package to fit your needs\n\n* Flexible vacation policy; work hard and take time when you need it\n\n* Pet discount plans & retirement plan with company match (401K)\n\n\n\n\nIf youโ€™re excited about joining a collaborative, high-impact team, send us your resume to start the conversation.\n\n#LI-Remote\n#BI-Remote \n\n#Salary and compensation\n No salary data published by company so we estimated salary based on similar jobs related to Software, JavaScript, CSS, HTML, Git, API, Microsoft, Mobile, Senior and Engineer jobs that are similar:\n\n $65,000 — $120,000/year\n
\n\n#Benefits\n ๐Ÿ’ฐ 401(k)\n\n

Close is hiring a
Remote Senior Staff Frontend Engineer React

About Us

Atย Close, we're building the sales communication platform of the future. With our roots as the very first sales CRM to include built-in calling, we're leading the industry toward eliminating manual processes and helping companies to close more deals (faster). Since our founding in 2013, we've grown to become a profitable, 100% globally distributed team of ~55 high-performing, happy people that are dedicated to building a product our customers love.

Our appโ€™s frontend is a single-page JavaScript web app mostly written in React (originally built withย Backbone.js). We bundle with Webpack and target only modern browsers. We test with Jest and React Testing Library. Our UI updates in near real-time and is written in LESS/CSS (with flexbox and grid layout) using CSS modules and takes advantage of fun technologies like Websockets and WebRTC.ย

We care about performance (e.g. route-based code splitting), maintainability, and testability of our frontend code. We sweat the UI/UX details and work collaboratively with the Product team throughout the design process. This means diving into lo-fi Freehand wireframes, and communicating continuously when those ideas are brought to life using Figma and code.

Our frontend app is built on top of our REST API & GraphQL endpoints. Our backendย tech stackย consists of Python/Flask, MongoDB, Postgres, Elasticsearch, and Redis. We run our services in Docker on AWS.

We โค๏ธ open sourcing our code and ideas onย our GitHubย and onย The Making of Close, our behind-the-scenes Product & Engineering blog. Check our projects such asย react-custom-scroller,ย use-infinite-scroll,ย use-abortable-effect, andย smart-tooltip-delayย or insights from our day-to-day work on such asย Highlights From a Complex Downshift.js Refactor,ย A Case Study in"Reactizing" a Complex Backbone View, andย Finding the cause of a memory leak in Jest tests.

About You

We're looking for an experienced full-time (or part-time) Frontend Software Engineer to join our engineering team. Someone who has a solid understanding of web technologies and wants to help design, implement, and launch major user-facing features.

You should have senior level experience (~5 years) building modern frontend applications in JavaScript, HTML, and CSS, with at least 3 years of that experience using React.

You should have significant experience designing, debugging, and optimizing frontend applications to make them fast and reliable. You have significant experience with REST APIs and thoroughly understand HTTP requests. You have experience participating in code reviews and providing overall code quality suggestions to help maintain the structure and quality of the codebase.

You should have great product sense and be able to think through user experience issues before diving into the code, and you exhibit a love for great UI.

Youโ€™re comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with a small and talented team where you're supported in your efforts to grow professionally. You are able to manage your time well, communicate effectively and collaborate in a fully distributed team.

You are located in an Americas time zone. Not in an Americas timezone? Take a look at our other job postingย here.

Bonus points if you have...

    • Experience implementing real-time (e.g. websockets, polling, etc.) web apps
    • Experience working with GraphQL endpoints
    • An eye for design and experience with Figma, Sketch, Abstract, Photoshop, or similar
    • Led small project teams building and launching features
    • Contributed open source code (core or plugins) for a popular frontend framework such as React, Vue, or Angular
    • Built B2B SaaS products
    • Experience with sales or sales tools

Come help us with projects like...

    • Conceiving, designing, building, and launching new user-facing features
    • Working with Twilio's API, WebSockets, and WebRTC to improve ourย calling features
    • Building user-facing analytics features that provide actionable insights based on sales activity data
    • Improving real-time collaboration user experience
    • Expanding our frontend GraphQL usage
    • Extending our React component library

Why work with us?

    • Culture videoย ๐Ÿ’š
    • 100% remote companyย (we believe in trust and autonomy)
    • Choose between working 5 days/wk (standard full-time) or 4 days/wk @ 80% pay

    • Quarterly virtual summits
    • 5 weeks PTO + Winter Holiday Break
    • 2 additional PTO days every year with the company
    • 1 month paid sabbatical every 5 years
    • Co-working stipend
