👉 Please reference you found the job on Remote OK, this helps us get more companies to post here, thanks!

When applying for jobs, you should NEVER have to pay to apply. You should also NEVER have to pay to buy equipment which they then pay you back for later. Also never pay for trainings you have to do. Those are scams! NEVER PAY FOR ANYTHING! Posts that link to pages with "how to work online" are also scams. Don't use them or pay for them. Also always verify you're actually talking to the company in the job post and not an imposter. A good idea is to check the domain name for the site/email and see if it's the actual company's main domain name. Scams in remote work are rampant, be careful! Read more to avoid scams. When clicking on the button to apply above, you will leave Remote OK and go to the job application page for that company outside this site. Remote OK accepts no liability or responsibility as a consequence of any reliance upon information on there (external sites) or here.

This opportunity is for someone excited for autonomy, ownership, and breadth of responsibility. PLEASE NOTE WE CAN ONLY HIRE NORTH AMERICAN BASED CANDIDATES AT THIS TIME.\n\nThis position will primarily be focused on back end .NET web application work. Common challenges we will solve include CQRS based event driven systems, syncing with third party REST API's, Database query optimization, and other common distrusted systems related work. This position requires a strong technical grasp and a strong focus on quality.\n\nOur environment is typical of a start-up:\n\n\n* We work in small teams, fast-paced, we all get a lot done by everyone wearing many hats.\n\n* We are serious about optimizing our time and staying focused on the most important goals and outcomes.\n\n* We are a remote team and are completely on board with 100% remote work, meaning we focus on overcommunication to ensure we can stay in sync despite our physical distance.\n\n* We coordinate using a kanban board, hold a daily standup, and mostly communicate via ad hoc video calls and Slack.\n\n* We’re building lots of new things, but also maintaining a significant business.  We are mindful of the balance and need to monitor and pay down tech debt and also innovate with exciting greenfield projects.\n\n\n\n\nWe’re a hybrid stack\n\n\n* Our “NextGen” technology is written in .NET Core, NodeJS and React.  Our “Core” platform, which is being replaced by NextGen,  is AngularJS (aka Angular 1) and ASP.NET.\n\n* We’re looking for senior talent to contribute to our Core platform as well as NextGen.\n\n\n\n\nSome of the Technologies we are looking for\n\n\n* .NET Core\n\n* CQRS, event sourcing, and message passing\n\n* SQL Server\n\n* distributed system design\n\n* GraphQL (Hot Chocolate) / Apollo Server\n\n* Rest API's\n\n\n\n\nBuild something challenging.\n\nThis isn't just another CRUD application. Your challenge will be to deliver a highly-available service with complex business logic being used by hundreds of businesses 24/7 to keep their operations running.  Our entity model is vast and a major part of our domain is synchronizing data with third party traceability systems. Explore the limits of your resourcefulness by designing human and automated systems that deliver consistent performance, reliability and scale whilst working with less-than-ideal third-party requirements and systems.\n\nOther Details.\n\n\n* We are a fully remote company and this position will be remote.\n\n* We are looking for someone who is ready to join us full-time after a brief trial period (all our employees do this).\n\n* We offer health benefits, 401k, unlimited time off, charity matching, and other cool perks. \n\n* We are offering an annual salary in the range of $120,000 - $140,000 USD.\n\n\n \n\n#Salary and compensation\n No salary data published by company so we estimated salary based on similar jobs related to Senior, Engineer, Full Stack, Video and Angular jobs that are similar:\n\n $70,000 — $120,000/year\n

\nQuickly maturing startup seeking like minded Sr. Backend-leaning Fullstack Engineer! PacketFabric redefines how companies procure, consume, and manage their network connectivity. The technical team is a small, talented, and close knit group and we need a team member to help us accomplish our goal of making the best darn carrier network on the planet.\n\nDescription\n\n\n* As a well rounded software engineer, you should definitely be the type that appreciates diversity in your day, and challenges outside of your comfort level! A typical day in the life of a PacketFabric senior software engineer might include these types of activities:\n\n* Designing a deterministic lifecycle workflow for our next product offering.\n\n* Writing core platform code for a new feature, and unit tests for functionality.\n\n* Refactoring and improving existing code for performance and simplicity. For example, breaking a large method into smaller, more maintainable and easily tested methods.\n\n* Building command line tools to help network engineers better manage network state.\n\n* Researching additional ideas, you may have to improve the product/platform overall and sharing with the team.\n\n* Interacting with customers and/or sales on a bug in the software, quickly resolving it, and coordinating across the team to push a fix.\n\n* Working with backend engineers and discussing quirks in network protocols and network interconnection which translate rapid API and UI changes.\n\n\n\n\nRequirements\n\n\n* The right candidate will have an abundance of hard core programming skills, have solid instincts for API usability and design patterns. You are probably a full stack developer who naturally gravitates towards work on a product core. You know how to sacrifice algorithmic elegance for getting it done on deadline. More specifics include:\n\n* Extensive experience with Python and PHP in large applications developed in a team environment.\n\n* Expert unit tester.\n\n* Experience in large scale distributed systems.\n\n* Extensive experience with the HTTP protocol and developing and using RESTful APIs.\n\n* A solid understanding of OO programming paradigms.\n\n* Experience with a message queue system like RabbitMQ or Kafka.\n\n* Experience using NoSQL data stores like Redis.\n\n* Be completely at home on any *nix command line and building your own tools.\n\n* Very comfortable using Git in a team environment (i.e. pull-requests, branch management, rebasing).\n\n* Experience working in an environment leveraging remote communication collaboration tools like Slack, Zoom etc.\n\n* Never being afraid to venture boldly where none have gone before and develop code where there are no previous libraries to draw from.\n\n\n\n\nPreferred Experience\n\n\n* A huge plus for actually doing any router/switch configuration or infrastructure automation.\n\n* Previous exposure to layer 2/3 networking protocols and concepts such as IPv4/6, VLANs, VPNs, BGP, etc.\n\n* Experience with Python-based web application frameworks like Flask, Django, or Sanic\n\n* Any experience interacting with physical world equipment - industrial, medical, etc\n\n* Experience creating highly maintainable Javascript.\n\n* SQL experience.\n\n* Experience with Vue.js, Angular and AngularJS.\n\n* GraphQL\n\n* Experience creating large scale data visualizations of any type.\n\n\n \n\n#Salary and compensation\n No salary data published by company so we estimated salary based on similar jobs related to Senior, Engineer, Backend, Full Stack, PHP, NoSQL, Git, Python, Angular, API and Sales jobs that are similar:\n\n $70,000 — $120,000/year\n
