Put simply, The Athletic is at the center of a sports fanโs universe.\n\n\n\n\nAbout the Role\n\n\nThis is a senior role providing comprehensive editorial oversight of our Fantasy & Sports Betting desk, using data analytics to optimize performance, and partner with stakeholders across the editorial organization and business teams on a range of initiatives.\n\n\nThis is a remote role for US and Canada. \n\n\n\nResponsibilities \n* Manage a staff of reporters with an emphasis on the delivery of news and distinct team analysis.\n* Provide a big-picture, conceptual vision for the vertical, including long-term direction; generating and planning story ideas; editorial platforms; expansion opportunities.\n* Establish process and priorities to balance content assignments ranging from short-form and breaking news to daily coverage to long-form projects.\n* Work to bring a distinctive, compelling, and authentic voice to all digital media products.\n* Maintain an understanding and proficiency of subscription and engagement metrics.\n* Maintain proficiency and knowledge of SEO best practices.\n* Develop comprehensive multimedia coverage and contacts that include text and audio.\n* Coordinate staffing assignments, editorial resources and process. Maintain an updated and accurate forward-looking editorial budget.\n* Collaborate with staff on story ideas, and with the design team on best execution for stories with a clear visual element.\n* Oversee the verticalโs financial budget, including projecting month-to-month expenditures and managing travel.\n* Edit and publish stories via WordPress as well as the news and live file tools.\n\n\n\nRequirements \n* 10+ years of experience in digital sports journalism, including at least five years of direct editorial and personnel management.\n* Expert ability to mentor writers and more inexperienced editors; can reposition/redeploy writers to get maximum value from staff.\n* Expert ability to generate story ideas that result in solid sub-growth and engagement.\n* Works well with writers on strengthening ideas. Strong sense of how to take a single idea and develop it into a broader package.\n* Expert understanding of the following editing tasks: copy editing, story structure, recognizing problematic sentences, style guidelines.\n* Ability to add context to stories, edit in writer's voice, ensure fairness, provide story structure.\n* Leader in the day-to-day execution of ideas that result in engagement and subscriptions.\n* Works outside of regular purview to find ways to improve the operations and sharing of information.\n* Pushes company initiatives hard.\n* High-end knowledge of Fantasy & Sports Betting.\n* This position is based in the United States or Canada.\n\n\n\n\n\nThe annual base salary range for this role is $120,000.00 - $140,000.00 USD. The total compensation offered for this position may vary based on factors such as education, experience, skills, and location. It may also include non-cash rewards and benefits. Lucid has an exciting opportunity for a Strategic Finance Intern to join the Strategic Finance (FP&A) team. Requirements

Develop an understanding and maintain documentation of L&P Branches / Suppliers and customers needs for shipping intra Europe and Internationally, including road freight, ocean freight, air freight, consolidation and deconsolidation needs and develop SOPs (Standard Operation Procedures) to ensure that such needs are met.
Maintain and develop positive business relationships with internal branchโs key personnel involved in or directly relevant to Logistics activities.
Monitor performance of key external service providers. Communicate to management service failures and help develop action plans to correct for future shipments. Monitor implementation of process improvements.
Identify, evaluate & implement opportunities to leverage L&P volumes with current service providers utilizing multiple business units.
Coordinate project analysis, bids, etc. for existing business units with existing or potential service providers.
Assist with new service provider set ups through SOPโs and required service provider documents.
Collaborate with Business unit Purchasing & Sales departments and Logistics offices as necessary to meet customer requirements
Develop & Incorporate KPIโs to monitor performance and identify opportunities for improvement with freight forwarders, ocean carriers against benchmarks and service agreements to improve support for our business units. Report findings along with suggested improvement solutions on a quarterly basis.
Provide feedback updates regarding market details for air, ocean and intra Europe trucking to management & Business Units.
Work with Logistics systems, Accounting & other Logistics offices to ensure visibility & financial data integrity of shipments.
Report cost savings / cost avoidance opportunities to management.
To be successful in this role, youโll need:
Bachelorโs degree in Supply Chain Management, Transportation, Business Management, Operations Management, or related field, or suitable combination of education and training
5+ yearsโ experience in the transportation and logistics industry, including 2+ years in a management role
