Remote Accountant

\nAs part of our continued growth, we are looking for an Accountant to join our Finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone eager to advance their accounting career in a collaborative, fast-paced, and supportive environment.\n\n\nAs an Accountant, you will report directly to the Finance Controller and play a key role in managing accounts receivable and payable processes, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting daily accounting operations across the Group.\n\n\n\nResponsibilities\n* Manage the full accounts receivable process, including payment follow-ups and client communication\n* Ensure timely and accurate invoicing and assist in resolving billing issues\n* Process payments and maintain accurate accounting entries (invoices, journals, reconciliations)\n* Support the preparation of management accounts and financial statements\n* Assisting in the implementation and ongoing management of procurement requests through the companyโ€™s procurement tool\n* Assist in the preparation of monthly and annual reports\n* Support internal and external audits with documentation and schedules\n* Contribute to the completion and submission of local VAT returns\n* Prepare various account reconciliations\n* Provide general accounting support and other duties as assigned\n\n\n\nRequirements\n* A partly qualified accountant or a degree in Accountancy \n* 2+ years of experience in a similar role\n* Good knowledge of accounting principles and reporting practices\n* Familiarity with IFRS and Maltese tax/VAT regulations\n* Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel\n* Experience with Xero and/or QuickBooks is an asset\n* Experience in the iGaming sector is a plus\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n#Salary and compensation\n No salary data published by company so we estimated salary based on similar jobs related to Accounting, Finance and Non Tech jobs that are similar:\n\n $25,000 — $65,000/year\n

Remote Data Science Undergraduate Internship Summer 2023

Internship Overview


The Home Depot's Summer Internship program offers college students an opportunity to develop leadership skills and gain hands on experience in a corporate environment. During an 11 - week period from May 15 - July 28, 2023, interns will be assigned to a functional team such as Supply Chain, Marketing, e-commerce, Technology, Finance, Operations, Merchandising, Outside Sales & Services, Human Resources, etc. Interns will learn more about our retail business and our corporate offices while having the opportunity to work on a pre-assigned project that impacts the function they are supporting. Additionally, interns participate in networking and development activities that set them up for success as they build their careers.


Data Science Intern Description


The Data Science Intern Program offers talented college students the opportunity to develop their advanced data science skills while supporting the Company's strategic objectives. Intern candidates are assigned to a project aligned to business areas such as e-Commerce, Merchandising, Operations or Finance. The Home Depot's internship program was recently named in the Top 20 in the US and offers college students an opportunity to develop leadership skills and gain hands on experience working with a number of leaders on projects that directly impact the business for one of the world's leading retailers. Data Science interns will focus on working with a variety of data science roles and functions to translate business questions into actionable insights and deliver high quality analytical solutions.


Tasks, Responsibilities, And Key Accountabilities Include

    • Participate in meetings across the enterprise data science community, gaining exposure to cross functional business units.
    • Build networking relationships and receive mentoring from team members and top-level management

      • Communicate findings and project status clearly and professionally through presentations
      • Provide recommendations to upper management.
      • Provide comprehensive report-out to senior leaders on assignments and other related projects
      • Data Analytics
        • Use strategic thinking and perform data analytics for a variety of business problems and opportunities and create high quality analytics solutions
        • Apply a wide variety of database applications and analytical tools, including SQL, Google Cloud Big Query and Python

The same goes for our customers.\n\nAt Likvido we are automating accounting for our customers. This web application consists of a VueJS frontend and an API - using the Backend For Frontend (BFF) approach. This means we are evolving the frontend and API in a symbiosis, where the API requests are tailored to the exact use-cases of the frontend. The styling of the frontend is a custommade look built with Sass and designed by our in-house UX/UI designer in cooperation with Studio Skulptur: https://www.studioskulptur.com/likvido. \n\nThe API is running on .NET 5 and written in C#, but we also have a legacy ASP.NET MVC application running on old .NET framework - which we are in the process of getting rid of.\n\nWe run all of our services in Microsoft Azure. The most recent services are running on AKS (Azure Kubernetes Services), and the legacy services are running on App Service. Our goal is to move everything to AKS. All of our source code is hosted on Github and we use Github Actions to deploy our services to AKS. We deploy to production at least once per day.\n\nWe use SQL Server and Azure Blobs for our data storage needs. We might introduce MongoDB or CosmosDB for specific use cases, as we are generally very open to adopting new technologies, whenever they provide some nice improvements over our current stack. \nOur general architecture is to build bounded contexts, with a number of services and databases inside each context. The services are small and scalable, and we use both queues, event grids and HTTP APIs for communicating between services.\n\nYou will join our current team, consisting of 9 developers, both frontend and full stack developers, plus a product team with UX/UI designers and product managers. We expect you to participate in the whole product workflow - from idea to production. You will help build new features, do code reviews, make releases, and make sure your features work and continue to work in production.
