About Rebilly
Rebilly is a decade-old payments software company with the mission of being the last payments integration a merchant will ever need. We are a B2B SaaS company that makes subscription billing, payment orchestration, and KYC/AML for global e-commerce merchants and integrated software vendors (ISV). We are passionate about building a payments system that is clever, flexible, and easy to use.
Working at Rebilly
Work is a huge part of our lives. On average, based on a 40-hour week, we spend 2,080 hours working each year. Work impacts our lives, our sense of self, and even our health. As a company, Rebilly understands the importance of work-life balance, and also the importance of the wholeness of our colleagues. Click here to learn more about what itโs like to work at Rebilly.
About the Role
We are looking for a tenacious, passionate, creative, software-driven individual to guide the design and development of our payments software.ย
OBJECTIVE #1 Take on a project and see it to its end.
Potential Obstacles: We work by 6 week cycles (similar to sprints) where it can be easy to lose focus or forget to plan ahead to ensure the successful completion of your projects.
Actions: Understand the value of a successful cycle completion and use your tenacity to carry each project to the very end. Results: Your project completion numbers in Jira are stellar and you have concentration available for the handful of projects on your plate.ย
OBJECTIVE #2 Work as a synchronous team in a remote environment.
Potential Obstacles: Working remote has many personal and team-based challenges from timezone differences, to communication and trust of your colleagues. Actions: Develop deep working relationships with your colleagues to know what theyโre working on, and how to support each other. Results: The team culture is strong, Rebillyโs bigger projects efficiently move forward.
OBJECTIVE #3 Help your colleagues raise their skills with thoughtful code reviews and feedback on ideas.ย
Potential Obstacles: Your day will be filled with your own projects and priorities, and offering feedback to a remote team from afar can be intimidating.ย Actions: Prioritize your schedule and share your unique knowledge and experience to help make your team stronger.ย Results: Your team is more precise, creative, and their knowledge is deepened with your help.ย
Responsibility
What will you manage?ย Each teammate receives a role within a small team per cycle that can include a handful of small projects, one large project, or staying outside of the cycle to support clients, bugs, and cycle planning. Along with that, youโll be responsible for ensuring adherence to programming and documentation policies, code standards, testing, release, and reporting updates on your projects.
What will you contribute to?ย You will contribute to code reviews, generating projects for each cycle, feedback for ideas (including the ideas for other areas of the company), and hiring new teammates in the Product Team.
What will you support?ย Outside of generally supporting your teammates in the Product Circle, Rebilly is an open environment where everyone is welcome in every area of the company. You are welcome to support any project you feel called to participate in.ย
How much support per project? Teams working in a cycle can be 1, 2, or sometimes 4 people. You will lean on your cycle teammates to support the completion of the cycle, as well as receive support from teammates supporting the cycle. You can ask as many teammates to join your project as you need to complete the mission.ย

This job post is closed and the position is probably filled. Please do not apply. Work for AgSquared and want to re-open this job? Use the edit link in the email when you posted the job!
About the job:
Come help us lay the foundation for the future of agriculture! We are a team of innovators who have been at the forefront of empowering farms to use their data to become more productive and more sustainable for nearly 15 years. At AgSquared you will have the unique opportunity to help build a suite of products that is truly impactful on a global scale, while working with a fantastic team of talented, down-to-earth people who love their work and love working together.
What we do:
At AgSquared, our mission is to help farms become more sustainable and adopt a greater level of transparency without sacrificing the productivity and profitability that allows them to stay in business. We accomplish this by outfitting farms with a technology stack that allows them to gather data from the field, process it, and move it into the hands of those who need it, ultimately allowing them to evolve into more modern, data-driven businesses.
Our background is in agriculture, and it shows. Our company was founded by two vegetable breeders, and this uniquely positions us to understand how to create software that will actually get used and actually have an impact. We focus relentlessly on making the day-to-day experiences of farm workers more enjoyable and friction-free by providing them with mobile tools to help them do their jobs better. Farm owners love us because their employees love us.ย
What you will do:
We are looking for an experienced full-stack developer to join our engineering team. Your primary role will be to expand our suite of ETL processes that convert raw data into processed forms that serve a wide variety of analytical purposes.
Our platformโs primary data architecture is structured to offer a high level of flexibility and configurability in the data collection process, so that each customer can fine-tune our mobile app to best fit into the way they run their farm, but this typically means that conducting analyses on raw data is relatively inefficient. As our platform has evolved and customers are relying on us to process increasingly large data sets for increasingly complex analyses, we have found that adding an ETL layer to extract and process the raw data into more usable forms gives us the best of both worlds โ we can offer the most flexible experience to field-based farm workers while being able to produce analyses of the collected data for decision-makers efficiently and on demand.
Until now we have been building these ETL processes on an as-needed basis, but we are ready to make this approach a more permanent and expansive feature of our platform. That is where you come in โ we are looking for someone to lead the effort to build out our ETL environment. In this role you will work closely with our companyโs CTO, the product owner, and the BI lead. You will make high-level strategic choices about how our ETL environment will be structured and how it will interface with the other components of our platform, and then you will take the lead in building it out.
AgSquared is a small, close-knit team, and so everyone here wears multiple hats. While your primary responsibility will be the development of our ETL environment, you will also have the opportunity to work on a wide range of different projects in our mobile app, APIs, backend, dashboarding platform, etc. Come prepared to expand your horizons and try lots of new things!
What you bring:
Necessary qualifications:
The core competencies and qualifications weโre looking for include:
10+ years of experience in designing and development of web and mobile applications, with heavy use of JavaScript frameworks, REST APIs and SQL
Ability to work independently, while retaining the ability to ask questions about proper architecture and domain knowledge
Deep understanding of enterprise architecture and patterns. Experience architecting ETL or similar processes
Experience with SQL and stored procedures
Experience with NoSQL databases
Experience with PHP 5.x
Experience with Ember/React/Angular javascript framework
Experience with Subversion
Experience with ES6
Experience with REST
Experience with SASS
Experience with Responsive Design
Experience with Linux management
Experience with remote working
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Nice-to-Have (Not Required)
Experience with D3 or similar data visualization technologies
Experience with data sciences
Experience with Klipfolio
Experience with CSS animations
Experience with Cordova
Experience with Symfony
Experience with Puppet
We donโt expect you to know anything about farming, but if you do thatโs a plus!
What we offer:
AgSquared is an awesome place to work! We have been a fully-remote team since our company was founded in 2009, and we truly understand what it takes to run a remote workplace where people feel connected, empowered, supported, and set up for success. Some specific benefits include:
Work from wherever you want - As long as you have a stable internet connection and can overlap a portion of your work day with U.S. east coast hours, you can be anywhere in the world youโd like to be.
Excellent work-life balance - Work-from-home can become work-all-the-time without proper boundaries. At AgSquared, we have spent nearly 15 years fine-tuning how we help our team members thrive, both professionally and in life, while working remotely. We offer very generous paid-time-off and parental leave policies. We also encourage you to not only take vacations, but to also carve out the time on a day-to-day basis to spend time with the people who are around you. Itโs important that you take the time to go to your childโs school play or to have lunch with your mom, to walk your dog or have coffee with a friend โ remote work makes these things possible, and you will feel supported and encouraged at AgSquared to have that life outside of work.
Career development โ We encourage our team members to try new things and develop new skills during their time at AgSquared. We are a close-knit team - you will be in the loop on what everyone else is doing, and there will be plenty of opportunities to join your teammates on projects that help you develop new skills.
Opportunity to work with world-class specialists โ AgSquared doesnโt look like your typical tech company โ our average team member has 18 years of experience working in agriculture! If you are interested in creating technology for farms, there is no better place to start that journey.

๐ Please reference you found the job on Remote OK, this helps us get more companies to post here, thanks!
When applying for jobs, you should NEVER have to pay to apply. You should also NEVER have to pay to buy equipment which they then pay you back for later. Also never pay for trainings you have to do. Those are scams! NEVER PAY FOR ANYTHING! Posts that link to pages with "how to work online" are also scams. Don't use them or pay for them. Also always verify you're actually talking to the company in the job post and not an imposter. A good idea is to check the domain name for the site/email and see if it's the actual company's main domain name. Scams in remote work are rampant, be careful! Read more to avoid scams. When clicking on the button to apply above, you will leave Remote OK and go to the job application page for that company outside this site. Remote OK accepts no liability or responsibility as a consequence of any reliance upon information on there (external sites) or here.
