Understand what our data product teams are trying to achieve. Principally, to help you propose, architect, design, and implement solutions and best practices to maximize the time they can spend on their immediate goals. Continuously improve our software engineering culture within the data organization by leading through example

What is the job?
As a DevOps Engineer at RDX Works, you will lovingly maintain our (your!) virtual infrastructure, while supporting the needs of our different stakeholders, which range from a collection of community node runners to developers and SDETs.
You will begin in familiar territory, performing care and feeding for dozens of virtual machines and Kubernetes clusters while gathering performance data and tuning for the CPU/memory/disk sweet spot which best balances performance and cost.
Youโll participate in the continuous improvement of our current monitoring and alerting system so that we know when things are going awry and can take action.
After you have a handle on how to keep things running smoothly, as part of the DevOps team you will engage with members of the different developer teams and node runners, always devising best practices for running Radix nodes and other RDX applications on a variety of cloud platforms.
You will participate in our on-call rotation process, to ensure that someone from RDX is always available to investigate a disruption in service. You will respond to alerts and track them to resolution, while learning from incidents and feeding suggestions back to our internal DevOps, SDET, and developer teams, and improving our internal operational rulebook.
What are we looking for?
You have maintained production systems on virtual infrastructure, and you possess a healthy collection of war stories from past disasters.
You have a wealth of knowledge about Docker which you never get to use at parties.
Youโre handy with an assortment of scripting languages, ideally Python or Bash.
You have a deep-seated need to automate things. The idea of doing a repeatable process manually is abhorrent to you.
Youโre patient when dealing with others. Youโre a good listener, and happy to be a teacher when needed.
You are a tenacious sleuth, able to persistently research and reason about difficult-to-reproduce problems until you have brought them to a satisfactory resolution.
What do you need?
Significant experience in a DevOps role
Production experience with cloud providers such as AWS, GCP, and Azure (We use AWS)
Strong familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes
Familiar with agile processes
Experience working with observability tools such as Prometheus and Grafana Stack
Hands on experience with a scripting language
Comfortable with at least one infrastructure-as-code tool, such as Ansible and Terraform
Comfortable configuring and managing at least one popular Linux distribution.

Your key area of focus:
To achieve our mission, we need to make sure our app is easy to use for every interaction from signup to sending to editing info to resetting your password. Youโll work closely with our Head of Product to fix highly impactful user problems and A/B test interface changes to make the experience even smoother and quicker. Your key areas of focus :
If youโve ever seenย The Tinder Swindlerย ,ย FYRE, orย The Wizard of Liesย you know fraud is an infinitely repeating social struggle that leaves the most vulnerable to pay the price. The Risk team at Sendwave builds and supports everything needed to aggregate the individual fraud cases and stop the scheme from ever being lucrative for the fraudster.
This includes integration of vendor tools, training new fraud/anomaly detection algorithms, supporting our risk operations teams, and improving our monitoring capabilities. Youโll leverage your Data-to-Insights skills to develop accurate, targeted defenses that remove fraud from our platform.
In your first few months youโll:
Set KPIs and scope constraints for new modeling projects to decrease our information lag between fraud happening and us receiving feedback of its presence.
Develop heuristics to quickly fight fraud.
Identify missing tooling and suggested verification actions to help our risk representatives make sense of the systemโs decision to block and correctly assess the situation.
Evaluate and spec out integrations for new data sources for our fraud detection algorithms.
Diligently work to lower false-positive rates
Develop strategies to detect previously unseen patterns that may indicate a new fraud attack.
Develop strategies and tools to help less technical individuals develop fraud-fighting heuristics.
Automate the training and deployment of updated models.
Develop a new anomaly detection algorithm, helping us spot strange behavior before a chargeback occurs.
Help build experiments to evaluate new models, third-party data sources, and tooling.
We're building out a best-in-class Risk infrastructure that can enable us to grow and we're hoping to find an engineering manager that's excited to solve data-driven problems in an adversarial environment.
What you bring to the table:
4+ years of professional experience training and deploying models.
At least 3 years creating production models or building analysis in the industry
At least 1 year managing an engineering team of 3-5 people
Work authorization in the country in which you intend to be based.
Possess strong python software development skills.
You like building data driven systems and know SQL.
Have strong engineering fundamentals โ you've built applications in python as well as trained model and are comfortable with supporting all layers of the stack.
Demonstrate tenacity and a willingness to go the distance to get something done. You don't mind doing things manually but automate at every opportunity.
Are inquisitive, intellectually curious and can make sense of complex systems or information.
Can work in a structured approach towards goals and pay attention to detail.

Team Composition:ย The Risk Team is a combination of ML engineers, Operation Specialists, and Data Scientists. Functionally the team is comprised of three pillars (Operations, Data Science, and Engineering) that collaborate in all sprint and quarterly planning meetings to create a balanced roadmap. Your key area of focus
To achieve our mission, we need to make sure our app is easy to use โ for every interaction, from signup to sending, to editing info, to resetting passwords. Youโll work closely with our Product team to fix highly impactful user problems, and A/B test interface changes โ to make the experience even smoother and quicker. Youโll eventually become one of the primary code owners of our iOS app. Youโll also become a go-to person when another team member needs help with a difficult iOS problem. Weโre seeking a skilled Senior ML Engineer that specializes in MLOps to help us productionize our wide variety of real time & batch processing models. Our team of 5 data scientists are excited to learn from you about how to efficiently build scalable production systems and to share their knowledge of building high performance machine learning models.\n\nAbout You\nYou enjoy teaching the skills youโve acquired. As a senior ML engineer youโve developed the ability to deeply understand the larger data ecosystem system from model requirements to business needs. You focus on designing tools and capabilities that help the team deploy more models to production.
