Remote Senior Data Engineer

If you want to apply your knowledge and skills to improve the lives of billions of people, join our team.\n\nOur Data Platform Team develops the data ingestion pipelines and data platform architecture that supports the analytical and reporting needs of internal stakeholders, data scientists, and our machine learning team, as well as externally facing products.\n\nWhat you’ll do:\n\n\nUnderstand our complex data ecosystem and build data driven software solutions\n\nDesign and develop tools to enable teams to consume and understand data faster\n\nDevelop and maintain a real-time streaming infrastructure that supports critical business functions\n\nCollaborate with multiple teams and own solutions from end-to-end\n\n\n\n\nWhat you bring: \n\n\nTypically 12+ years of professional experience with 5-8 years of relevant experience in Data engineering\n\nExtensive hands-on experience working with large datasets, pipelines, and modern warehouse technologies \n\nSelf-starter attitude and ability to work towards a larger goal with minimal guidance\n\nAdvanced experience in SQL queries and performance tuning\n\nUnderstanding of functional programing paradigms\n\nProficiency in Java, Python or Scala and a demonstrable ability to quickly learn\n\nFocus on high quality code, including automated testing and coding best practices\n\nExperience with messaging/queuing systems or stream processing systems\n\nExperience in building distributed systems with infrastructure automation, monitoring and alerting\n\n\n\n\nPreferred skills: Optional Section, these are not “deal breakers”.\n\n\nExperience with Snowflake as a warehouse technology\n\nExperience using Kafka for implementing streaming application\n\nExperience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g. GitHub Actions)\n\nExperience with maintaining and administering Kubernetes clusters\n\nInterest in working on related but separate projects in parallel\n\nExperience with DBT as data transformation tool\n\nExperience with data lineage/data governance tools like Atlan\n\nExperience with data modeling/dimensional modeling\n\n\n\n\nPlease apply even if you don’t meet all of the “What you bring” requirements noted.
