We were recently featured on Fast Company’s 2020 list of Most Innovative Companies so this is an exciting time to join us as we continue to put the “tech” in “biotech”! \n\nThe role:\n\nWe need someone like you to help create software tools that allow our scientists to capture, store, and draw insights from complex biological data. If you don’t have a biology background - fear not - we’ll get you up to speed. This is a greenfield project so creativity and fresh ideas aren’t just encouraged - they’re required! On any given day you might:\n\n\n* Develop new API endpoints\n\n* Write front end code for UIs that allow non-technical users to intuitively interact with data\n\n* Coordinate changes to the database schema\n\n* Collaborate with (non-technical) end users to produce a winning design\n\n* Test what you’ve implemented - ideally with automated tests!\n\n\n\n\nOur current tech stack:\n\n\n* Backend powered by Django (3.1) on Python 3.7\n\n* HTML5 with Bootstrap 4 (we’re transitioning to modern frontend framework shortly)\n\n* PostgreSQL database\n\n* Docker\n\n\n\n\nWhat we’re looking for:\n\n\n* At least 5 years’ experience delivering high quality software \n\n* Comprehensive experience with Python\n\n* Experience with a modern web framework (Frontend and Backend)\n\n* Experience with relational databases and ORMs\n\n* Proficient with version control (we use git)\n\n* Experience practising good programming hygiene (delivering clean, reusable, documented, and tested code that follows best practices)\n\n* Confidence communicating in English\n\n* A team player with a can-do attitude who’ll ensure everyone’s success\n\n\n\n\nBonus points if you have:\n\n\n* Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS)\n\n* A background in biology, immunology or pharmaceutical science\n\n* A great personality and a good sense of humour\n\n\n\n\nPerks of the job:\n\n\n* An attractive compensation package, including health and lifestyle benefits\n\n* A minimum of 3 weeks’ vacation\n\n* Opportunities for personal and professional development \n\n* And of course, the opportunity to make a real difference, working on challenging problems that matter\n\n\n\n\nTo Apply:\n\nIntroduce yourself by heading to our website to submit your application.
