#About Us\nAt [Close](https://close.com), we're building the sales communication platform of the future. With our roots as the very first sales CRM to include built-in calling, we're leading the industry toward eliminating manual processes and helping companies to close more deals(faster). Since our founding in 2013, we've grown to become a profitable, 100% globally distributed team of 60+ high-performing, happy people that are dedicated to building a product our customers love.\n\nOur backend [tech stack](https://stackshare.io/close-crm/close) currently consists of Python Flask web apps with our [TaskTiger](https://github.com/closeio/tasktiger) scheduler handling many of the backend asynchronous task processing chores. The underlying infrastructure runs on AWS using a combination of managed services like EKS, MSK, RDS and ElasticCache and non-managed services running on EC2 instances. All of our compute runs through CI/CD pipelines that build Docker images, run automated tests and deploy to our Kubernetes clusters. Our backend primarily serves a well-documented [public API](https://developer.close.com/) that our front-end JavaScript app consumes. Our infrastructure is heavily automated using AWS tools, Terraform, and Ansible.\n\nWe open source โ using dozens of open source projects with contributions to many of them, and released some of our own like [ciso8601](https://github.com/closeio/ciso8601),[LimitLion](https://github.com/closeio/limitlion), [SocketShark](https://github.com/closeio/socketshark), [TaskTiger](https://github.com/closeio/tasktiger), and more at https://github.com/closeio\n\n#About You\nWe're looking for a full-time Site Reliability Engineer with a passion for databases(both SQL and NoSQL) to join our core team who has significant experience building, managing, and monitoring infrastructure, databases, and backend services at scale.\n\n#Come help us with projects like- \n* Scale our Elasticsearch, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB clusters to support our data growth\n* Automate the maintenance and upgrades of our PostgreSQL and MongoDB databases\n* Further develop our Prometheus/Grafana monitoring infrastructure\n* Tighten security across our infrastructure\n* Improve our [public APIโs](https://developer.close.com/) performance and resiliency\n* Building out our Kubernetes infrastructure to include additional services, increased redundancy/scalability, and harnessing new k8s features\n* Implement autoscaling techniques that balance performance, workload demands and costs\n* Improve our CI/CD process making builds/deployments faster and safer\n\n*Bonus: Are you a PostgreSQL or MongoDB expert? \nCOVID 19 UPDATE: \n\nWe have leaned into the current health crisis with the development of new features like Volusion Curbside. Since March, we have hired more than a dozen new Volusioneers with no signs of slowing down. We are actively interviewing for key roles in order to keep up with our product roadmap goals. During these unprecedented times Volusion continues to provide stability and growth opportunities to our employees and merchants alike.\n\nWe are doing our part to flatten the curve so for the time being all interviews will be conducted virtually. As a company ALL employees are currently working remotely.\n\nLocation Flexible:\n\nIf “Location Flexible” is listed in the job title of a role, the role can be located in any of the states where Volusion is authorized to do business. Please work with your recruiter to understand any location constraints of a particular role and to communicate your location preferences.\n\nThe rundown:\n\nWe are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer that is all about building quality. If you like to build scalable architecture, have a keen eye for performance, and love to level up the backend development practices on your team, you’re the type of engineer we’re looking for. We have a product with well-defined features that need exceptional engineers to implement them with a long term strategic vision and determination.\n\nAbout us:\n\nVolusion powers thousands of ecommerce sites - from fledgling entrepreneurs like local artists selling handmade goods to mid market businesses processing millions of dollars in online sales every year. If you're a creative professional that has a passion for driving change and you want to better the world with your ideas, we want to hear from you!\n\nYou will:\n\n\n* Build performant server-side rendering for E-Commerce storefronts: Better speed means better SEO, and better SEO means more sales. You’ll take our renderer–already an industry leader in speed–and make it even faster and more scalable while maintaining AMP compliance for our merchants.\n\n* Design and implement APIs for third-party developers: Our site designer is architected from the ground up for third-party developers to integrate with and build upon. You will ensure that experience is first class by building secure, easy to understand, and well-documented APIs.\n\n* Solve with creativity and autonomy: We don’t always want the simplest solution to a problem. We want great solutions that exhibit creativity, address our customers’ needs, and allow you to flex your programming muscles.\n\n* Move fast: We like to go! Failure is not getting something wrong; it’s taking so long to get something right that we miss an opportunity. If you like ownership and aren’t afraid to try things, adjust, improve, take responsibility, and try again, you’ll love our fast-paced engineering culture.\n\n\n\n\nWe are looking for someone with:\n\n\n* 6+ years building web applications at scale\n\n* Experience building APIs in Node.js with Typescript (or a similar language and willingness to adapt)\n\n* Experience with both SQL and no-SQL Databases, as well as search and caching\n\n* Ability to design and implement high level architectural choices as well as communicate those designs with other engineers\n\n* Experience working for a SaaS company in an agile environment\n\n* Experience working in a fully CI/CD pipeline\n\n* A Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Software, or other Engineering discipline\n\n\n\n\nWe would prefer someone with:\n\n\n* 2+ years using React, Vue, or another modern JavaScript framework\n\n* Experience with PostgreSQL and MongoDB\n\n* Experience with server side rendering\n\n* Experience with Algolia and Redis for search and caching\n\n* Knowledge of page speed insights and SEO best practices\n\n* E-Commerce experience, both as a developer and as a merchant\n\n* Experience building website builders\n\n\n\n\nVolusion’s Technology Stack:\n\n\n* JavaScript and TypeScript-based front-ends, particularly Next.js, React, and Node.js\n\n* MobX, MobX State Tree, and server-side and client-side rendering\n\n* Public-facing REST APIs\n\n* Google Cloud Platform including Kubernetes, Firebase, and managed database services\n\n* SQL and no-SQL Databases; specific experience with PostgreSQL and MongoDB is a plus\n\n* Search and caching using Elasticsearch, RediSearch, Algolia, and Redis\n\n\n\n\nWho is also the embodiment of our culture code (we hope you are nodding your head in agreement as you browse through it!):\n\n\n* Humble: Have humility and be respectful; no egos allowed.\n\n* Effective: Get stuff done!\n\n* Adaptable: Willing to fill any role, anytime. \nAt Analytics Fire we are a small, distributed team working on a range of interesting projects -- some that might fit you: currently a scalable IoT platform for utility grade solar power plants, a sales and design tool for residential solar, a voice activated robot arm, and a financial transaction platform. We’re looking for a fun, interesting, and hardcore dev to join our small team of disparate experts.\n\nThis is a remote position. We’re flexible about location and hours, so long as your normal working hours overlap at least partially with normal business hours for the Pacific time zone.\n\nWe’re a really great match for a senior dev who wants to work hard on interesting projects, while also having flexibility around time and geography.\n\nSkills & Requirements\n\nIdeally, you should have 5+ years commercial full stack development, ideally within a startup environment. You should be comfortable autonomously driving your own high quality / high velocity contributions using a range of technologies.\n\nWe work with a variety of technologies, but are currently actively looking for someone with expertise in Ruby and/or React.js.\n\nHowever please do reach out if you think you might be a great fit and have expertise around any other areas of our tech stack:\n\n- Front-end: JavaScript / React\n- Back-end: Ruby / Python / Node.js \n- Data store: MySQL / PostgreSQL / Redis \n- Agile collaboration and devops tools: Github, Trello, Slack, Chef, Ansible, Vagrant, etc\n- Modern software techniques: RESTful APIs, SOA, PaaS, etc\n\nExtra bonus points but not required -- please let us know if you happen to have additional expertise in any of these areas:\n-iOS\n-DevOps \n\n#Salary and compensation\n
