You have the opportunity to design and build tools to scale and enhance our ability to release world-class software products. Your commitments to learning new technologies and how they will impact us in the future are paramount. \n\n\n\n\nResponsibilities\n\n\n* Write clean, extensible, well-tested code\n* Participate in architecture, design, and implementation decisions for key components of our platform\n* Work closely with product management to ensure we're building the best products\n* Act as a leader in our globally dispersed software engineering organization and garner team’s respect as an engineer\n\n\n\n* Identify risks/impediments, escalate issues, bring transparency to deliverables and ensure Agile delivery\n* Lead code reviews and participate in the development of best practices within the engineering team\n* Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs \n* Coach other software engineers on the craft of coding\n\n\n\n* Minimum 4 years experience writing, debugging, and testing software\n* Deep knowledge of JavaScript and/or Typescript, HTML, CSS\n* Strong experience with at least one of the following web frameworks (React, Angular, Vue). React is preferred\n* Experience with RESTful APIs, Cross browser compatibility, Accessibility, and Responsive UI\n* Experience with front-end performance optimization\n* In-depth understanding of the entire web development process (design, development and deployment)\n* Ability to build reusable code and libraries for distributed use\n* Adaptability and willingness to learn new programming languages and technologies\n* Possess good communication and reasoning skills\n* Degree in Computer Science or another relevant engineering discipline\n* Sense of intellectual curiosity and a passion for learning with a strong problem-solving mindset\n* Be self-driven, actively looking for ways to contribute and continuously improve the team and the product\n* Be comfortable with ambiguity and show a willingness to wear multiple hats based on the need\n\n\n\nPreferred:\n\n\n* Experience with Next.js\n* Experience with TailwindCSS and CSS-in-JS \n* Experience building component libraries \n* Experience with education or education technology\n\n\n\nLocation: Washington, DC, or remote\n\n\n\n\nIf selected for an interview, background check will be required.\n\nNew employees will be required to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination, subject to potential accommodation as required by law or otherwise permitted by the Company.\n\n\nAny communication to applicants relating to the Great Minds hiring process will only come from email addresses with the domains greatminds.org or greatminds.recruitee.com.
